Wall-E
-
Hah, I was about to make a thread for this.
Looks like it'll be a cute movie, and Pixar usually makes good stuff so… I'm hopeful? =O
-
looks ok.
That's what they said after seeing the trailer for the Incredibles, and look how fantastic that movie turned out to be.
Pixar has the ability to take a seemingly plain idea and make it into an enjoyable wonderful movie. I have full confidence in saying that this film will be good.
-
I was surprised there was no thread for Ratatouille when that came out. It was one of my favorite movies of the year.
For some reason, Pixar teasers never really make me interested to see the movie, yet I always love them. (except Cars… I still haven't been able to finish that one)

There was one. A pretty decent sized one at that.
About the trailer, eh, I've learned far to soon that Pixar trailers aren't a good basis for hypothetical quality.(i.e. Incredibles)
-
There was? Huh… I didn't see it when I searched for it back then.
-
DID SOMEONE SAY WALL E WEASEL????
-
Well judging by the available plot synopsis it looks like this movie is having a much larger scope than the teasers indicate. Also the project seems like one of the more ambitious done by Pixar.
I've got one thing on my mind though: will the robots talk? While the teaser shows him communicating in robotic R2D2-like chirps, it ends with him saying "WAALL-EEE." While it wouldn't really surprise me if they did talk, I was hoping Pixar would experiment using pantamime through most of the picture. Either way, as long as there's no wisecracking robots, I'll be satisfied.
-
Saw the preview before "Rattatouie" and I am intrigued. I do wonder how Pixar will handle this but at the same time I like the concept of how human consumerism has lead to abandonment and these roboot cleanup crews. Probably not as uber-excited as I was for Rattatouie (since that was presold with Brad Bird) but I will see this for sure in '08.

I keep forgetting about that movie. Didn't really seem that interesting…

I like the Route 66 nostalgia but "Cars" is probably my least favorite of the Pixar films…and even this has some quality.
-
Am I the only one who didn't enjoy Incredibles?
-
Yes.
sixteen opinions -
I haven't really liked any Pixar movie post-Monsters Inc. actually.
-
^You have no inner child.
-
I love how Andrew Stanton is going to make Wall-e talk based on various sound effects put together. Like R2-D2.
In other Pixar news, the animated short on the upcoming Ratatoulle DVD will be hand-drawn!

I'm glad to see that I completely forgot this thread existed, but apparently entered it with the intent to say the exact same thing I did the first time.
-
I never saw Cars or Ratatouille(SP?). But I've loved all of Pixars movies so far! Best things to come from Disney in years… This looks kinda cute and the plot reminds me of that game Vector Man.

Yeah, you're right.
The trailer certainly looked okay, but the movie will probably end up being full of awesome and win. -
After seeing how good Ratatouille was, I'll definetely give this a shot when it's in theatres.
-
-
Wow, that looks pretty spectacular :O
-
the newest trailer makes it look SO AWESOME.
also, im a sucker fer love stories.
incidentally, i can kinda relate to poor wall-e. D=
but i ramble, this looks so amazing. looks GORGEOUS, too.
-
Well that looks kinda cute. Can't wait to see this movie.
-
When I first heard of wall-E i thought "cute! What a neat idea! But how come it's not a 5 minute short? How can this be made into an action and fun - packed full lenght movie, that satisfies the action and fun - craving disney demographic?"
Now I know. Rock on, Pixar.
-
Wow this movie looks pretty interesting, def. gonna watch it.
-
Definitely seeing this. Wall-E's to cute to pass up.
-
I'm looking forward to this one. Looks like a really cute and fun movie.
-
Definitely looks like it'll be fun.
-
What's the deal at the end of the Trailer with those shopping carts?
-
He probably gets magnetized or something.
-
Has anyone noticed how similar Wall-E and R.O.B. look?
It's definitely in the eyes.
-
a pixar movie that i'm not skeptical about?? that makes me skeptical

Holy crap! I think you're onto something!
To me, he looks like the love child of R.O.B, and Johnny 5 from Short Circut.
I was pretty skeptical about this movie when I first found out about it. But then again, that's the way I always feel about Pixar movies after seeing the trailers for them. Now that I've seen the new one, I'm really considering going to see this.
-
meh, looks boring to me
-
Aww. He looks so sad. Look at his eyes. slaps self AAAGH! I don't know what came over me.
I'll consider this movie.
-
Not so much R.O.B. as X-Wing Alliance's MK-09, if ya ask me.
-
I'm sorry but this looks very uninteresting.
-
Actually, this is probably one of the only Pixar trailers to have me interested from the get-go. The other being Monsters Inc.
-

I wouldn't say PIXAR has done it again, because honestly… They've never ever made a film this great before. Don't get me wrong - I love love love the TOY STORYS, MONSTER INC, RATATOUILLE and THE INCREDIBLES... but this... This was gasp inducing.
i guess it's decent, ha ha
-
^ after reading that, i think i will see it when its out
-
I am so psyched for this movie.
It could potentially be the best yet.
-
Every single one of Pixar's movies have been a hit, I see no reason this one should be any different.
-
yea, that little quote / review thing makes it sound pretty slick.
im going first day…..no one wants to go wif me. lawl.
maybe ill take a lady? -_O
-
Yeah, the trailers for Pixar movies never really get me interested, but this looks like it has quite a bit of potential, so I think I might as well see it. Ratatouille I still dislike, even after having to watch it 2 times in school.
-
I find it annoying that some people who watch Pixar stuff are so shallow they judge the show based on the setting of the material rather than the quality of story. A lot of reviews were negative of Cars because the viewers were already critical of NASCAR and the whole Midwestern driving phenomenon - Ratatouille was a weak movie (and the one Pixar movie I dislike) in every respect except art, yet it got a ridiculous amount of accolades.
Wall-E intrigued me at first, I thought it was going to be like Planetarian meets Gurren-Lagann, but then Disney got a hold of it…suffice to say, I don't think I'll be looking to see it in theatres.
DVD maybe though.
-
sigh I love Pixar. And I normally am not a champion of CGI movies because I'm a cel-animation lover to my core, but you really can't deny anything Pixar. Because they understand that before "realistic" animation, the story is most important.
I am psyched for this for two reasons: 1. It's mostly non-talking (brings back Bambi and Fantasia memories), and 2. It's directed by Andrew Stanton, who directed Finding Nemo, my current fave Pixar movie.
The way I see it, people usually choose their favorites from the Pixar line-up according to director:
John Lasseter
Brad Bird
Andrew StantonI love all the Pixar movies, but Andrew Stanton is my favorite director right now. I know Brad Bird has gotten more critical hype, but something about his movies didn't quite get the click with me that makes his Pixar movies my favorite (although I LOVE The Iron Giant).
Edit: Dude, Malinex, don't knock Wall-E just because Disney bought Pixar.
-
I can't wait till this movie comes out, hope I can find someone to see it with me, seeing that most of my friends only watch fighting/ shooting/, well you get it!
