"Even though the first Alien vs. Predator was anything but stellar, 20th Century Fox Film Co-Chairman Tom Rothman sat down to talk to SCI FI Wire and dropped news that all Alien and Predator fans will rejoice over.

Word from Rothman is that Alien vs. Predator II is a go as Rothman tells SCI FI Wire, "We will do another one of those for sure. It was a big success… In the new Alien vs. Predator they will finally actually really come to our world."

Rothman went on to say that this new film could bridge the gap between all the movies and the two horror film franchises... "It's likely that we will bridge the gap, and the beginning of that will be setting it in our contemporary universe... They were always terrorists, yes, but only metaphorically."

I thought the first one was great cheezy fun, but it wasn't worth the sequel. I hope it's good especially set in a city enviroment.

Like everybody else, i too dashed to get Alien Predator, and what do i get!, a cheesy story with even more cheesier characters.

Well, here's hoping that the next one is better, if not spectacular.

Compared to the originals….yeah just no way. And we got to see what? ONE scene of normal Predator on Alien action? Come on!

As stupid fun it was pretty neat.

And the second will be worth admission if we just get to see that BMF of a Predator-Alien in action.

It's a shame they didn't follow the story in the original comic series that was made for this battle.. that was a damn fine story. The series was run by Dark Horse, I think. When I'd first heard about the movie, that's what I thought it was going to be. What it actually was, however, was a let down.

Yep, it was done by Dark Horse during the early 1990.

Well, what can i say, Hollywood has a reputation for taking classics and turning it into a shell of its former glory.

All you need to do is watched Harry Potter, another let down eventhough the book was a big hit.

I think the original director and writers wanted to do a comic movie but in teh end so much wa changed in terms of staff that it ended up as this crap fest

Actually in the comics, take out the Aliens and add a WHOLE LOT of one on one kickass action, the ending of AVP is exactly what happened to Batman.

Oh, they are making a sequel? Awesome its kinda cool too cuz me and a friend were just talking about a sequel yesterday. I liked the first one a bit even though they did not touch the original Alien movies. I always liked Aliens more than Predators and it always made me mad how Predators are hunters Aliens are hunted. Not a very fair fight.

In any case, with this movie coming out I can only hope for one thing. An AVP 3 video game. Man I remember how much I loved the online mode in AVP 2 for PC.

Now there remaking a bad movie. Sequels are bad, and there even worse when the prequel was bad to begin with.

I disagree. Aliens was better than the first Alien, and there are movies around whose sequels proved to be better than their originals. Although yeah, the first Alien vs. Predator sucked a bit, but due of it had no presence of the heroes of the original movies. Lance Henrisken was there, but he wasn't Bishop…

The trailer of the sequel looks better, however.

Those were some pretty brutal deaths, and I'm glad its rated R. I was one of the few that actually loved the first AVP. It was entertaining to me, especially the director's cut or whatever, that had a different extended beginning.

Yeah, that chick looks like she's trying to be as cool as Ripley. Which I think its impossible, because Ripley defined the badass actionhero chick.... Ah, I want to watch Aliens again, that was such an amazing movie!

And WHY do they need to bring a kid into the mix... AGAIN? Don't these people ever learn....

the first movie absolutely ruined all the awesomeness of every other predator & alien movie ever. that seriously was a lame joke, the predator was ridiculously out of character, aliens were ok but didn't have any good impact on me, and every actor was as good as anybody coming from dawson.

and now this new movie seems even worse…

Yeah, the Predators in AVP didn't seem as hardcore as they were in the actual Predator movies or comics…. But they did have a few badass moments at least.... Despite that, I still managed to enjoy it somehow. I guess I'm just easily amused

And I think I did catch that, I just sorta laughed a lil XD I wonder how they're gonna deal with that, like if the kid actually brutally died from having a chest burster come out….

No wonder this movie will be rated R O_O I wouldn't put that past them from what I've seen in that trailer.... Yeah, I am so gonna go see this. It looks way too awesome.

OH and about the predalien, I wonder how messed up/awesome that's gonna look...

Coooooooooooooooooooooooool.

I really did like the original Alien and the sequel Aliens more, as well as Predator and Predator 2 - AVP wasn't comparable to those four movies, and there was a lot of werid stuff in it.

The only issue I have with the movies is that the Predator and/or Xenomorphs are always out of their natural element. I mean, the Predator is fine on a space-ship or in a tropical/urban jungle, but the Xenomorph looks out of place unless it's somewhere futuristic. Hearing of the Xenomorphs on Earth isn't too interesting…the most awesome part about Aliens was that the Xenomorphs invaded a futuristic military base.

Also, these movies are too dark. Doom, Hulk, and AVP were all dark and didn't show the action. Remember when almost all of Predator took place in broad daylight?

Yeah, Predator was awesome though! I guess it gave the impression that these things can be quite frightening no matter if its daytime or nighttime.

Although, no matter what, being lost in a jungle while you're being hunted… that's pretty freakin' scary.

Yeah Predalien is in the movie. I always liked Runners more though but Predaliens are also extremely badass.

I see a lot of people saying that's the Predalien but…is it? My imagination seems to have far exceeded what they actually created for what should have been an awesome character.

Its a really horrible picture… i cant tell the difference between the predailien and a regular human "born" alien.

I was watching TV earlier for once… and caught the commercial for the trailer. I can't believe it comes out next week! (Christmas has snuck up on me this year, lol)

sorry for the double post but gotta vent, It was a pretty good movie nothing mindblowing but a good action flick definitly leaps and bounds better than that crap Paul w.s Andersson gave us.

And they definitly got the feel i like to see in an avp movie down just right, no team of inept Predator rookies just one elite hunter whos able to take down 4 Aliens at the same time and hoards of aliens who just keep breading more and more with humans who just happen to be there they arent a priority they just happen to get in the way and get slaughtered just the way i like it.
