Which do you prefer, a PC or a Mac?
I'm not making this a poll because then people just click one and don't post shit.
So, to vote. I want you to post which you prefer AND WHY. If you forget the WHY part, your post gets DELETED.

Worst response ever, but I have one of each. I like Macs because everything is so SIMPLE with them, and they rarely get viruses, and they're great for video editing, and they're pretty. x_x.; I've never had problems with my eMac like I've had with PCs. On the other hand, you still NEED a PC sometimes, because so many programs and things only work with them. Like, I love Paint Shop Pro and would rather use it than Photoshop, but they only make it for Windows. Also, I hate that you can't ever change the scrollbars on Macs like you can on PCs. You can try to make a web layout all perfect with matching scrollbars, but anyone on a Mac won't be able to tell. It's lame. So… to conclude this, I actually use both equally. x_o.;
PC, simply because it's the only kind of computer I've ever used.
PC, I think Mac is too confusing… >_<
I'm going to give a very lame answer: it was a PC that my dad brought home when I was little. I have never known anything else in our house.
I never used Mac's but I have a big reason to have a PC: The video-games!!!! most of video-games just aren't realesed for mac.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with PC as well. It really all comes down to me having used PCs a lot more often than I use Macs. It's just what I'm used to using.
I use both daily (I'm crazy, I have 6 PC (one laptop), 2 Mac, and 1 Linux), but still prefer Win.
I don't know, maybe because my fastest PC is really good? :P I feel like bragging, my best PC spec is 3.39GHz with 1GB ram, dual processor >:) Mac is G5, 1.8GHz with 768MB ram. I know, it's my company's, but practically mine, right? >.>
Fine. I prefer Win because it has more application support and I'm not really a graphical person. I need my mouse to hape 3 buttons! :P I like Mac's key navigations though.
I'm a Microsoft whore by profession so read into that what you will.
I prefer Windows (XP Pro of course). I love the Mac OS, wonderful interface, lots of great apps loaded off the bat. What clinches it for me is applications. If I can't get the games I want for Mac then its right out. Support is improving but by the time Mac runs everything I want it to Linux will probably be mature enough for me to want to use it on a regular basis (way too obtuse as is).
One more big reason is I can build my own PC and I can't build a Mac. My pc is hand built by me and kicks ass. Aging a little (3.0ghz p4 w/hyperthreading, 1gb low latency pc3200 Corsair XMS, Geforce 6600gt, dual dvd burners, 500gb hard drives) but it still kicks ass where I need it to.
I can swing for either, though I prefer PCs simply because of the hardware available. Not to say the Mac doesn't have great stuff for it too (like finnie said, they are better by far for multimedia purposes; that's why my mother uses them, in fact) and they are infinitely more user-friendly.
I do prefer PCs, but I grew up around my mother and thus grew up around Macintosh, so I can troubleshoot either just as easily (yes, Macs can have problems; mostly due to memory issues but OSX and up fixed most of 'em). So either is fine in my book. Depends on what you're using the box for tho'.
mac
osx is great.

I'll go with PC. I'm not into all of that technical stuff, but I have two PCs at home, and they're very efficient. I use a Mac for school stuff, and I HATE it.

Hey, ooshi, did you install Tiger already? I need to do it, but being lazy. If you did, tell me how it is o.o
For OS, I prefer Win2k. Japanese >:)! XP takes up too much space. For Mac OS, I like 10.3s. Much improvement and more stable than 10.2s.

I use PCs. It's the only type I ever used until I tried using my friend's iBook once, which I hated using. After years of using computers with MS-DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows XP (Home and now Professional), I just couldn't get used to how Macs did their OS.
Both. I use both, actually, but it's still much easier to find stuff for pc's. But I love using my mac because sometimes, windows is evil. <_<

Oh OSX is much better than OS9 if you're talking about that change… o.o
My worst OS are Win 98 (crashed too often, maybe it was worse than ME, but 98SE was okay), Win NT (bad UI/navigation), then OS9. I only used 3.1 for couple of month, so don't remember enough to hate it .__.
Sadly, I have to go with PC.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Mac. My first real computer (Apple ][c doesn't count) was a Mac Centris 610. I bought it so I could do graphics editing when I was still in college. It served me well for many years, from '93 to about '99. Over time, however, PCs got to the point where they could do everything I wanted my Mac to do. Not only that, PCs have a better selection of games, and are easier and cheaper to upgrade. My new PC cost about 500 bucks to build, and it's an amazing piece of work. I haven't had a single problem with it. It's fast, it runs smoothly, it has tons of hard drive space, and the case glows ^_^; I don't think I could get an equivalent mac for that much.
I loved my Mac, PC just does more for me in the long run.
I've also had problems with both machines. Windows drove me nuts from time to time, but then, so did Mac OS. Where my PC would sometimes crash, my Mac would just turn off…. usually while I was editing something. I know MacOS has improved dramatically since the Centris 610, but so has windows, in my opinion.
I can use both machines, but I simply have no real reason to go back to Mac.
PC. no Macs's avaiable around here so there was not other choice . i could always do what i wanted on my pC so there's was never any need to change.
Well…both actually.
I use my PC for normal stuff like posting here or playing online games and my Mac for editing and fixing up my comic strips.
My mom uses the Mac to do her photo's as she's a photographer.
If you had asked me during the win9x era, i would have chosen Mac, but now, with XP and the Microsoft new Longhorn waiting to come out, i'll go with Windows any day.
Another thing is, a pc is definitely much easier to manage.
You can build it the way you want it, its also much more easier to configure, and with the wide variety of hardware available, it's also easier to switch whenever i want to.
And last but not least, you can install any application on a PC, unlike a MAC.
Normyk, thats one hell of a PC you have there
Got two pc's with Win2k and/or Gentoo Linux OS.
I don't say i hate macs, but i don't like computers which are bought finished, it has to be built and customized. Well, from the time in the air force, i began disliking those macs which have screen & hardware all-in-one and have this small, round mouse, but that's just me…
So my dislike to mac is mostly because of the bad impression i got from the design and my everlasting love to my own customised pc's. Each person use a pc/mac differently. For me, pc was the right choice cuz i do all kinds of things on my pc. Everything from fps and strategy games to programming, fansubbing, video editing, linux experiencing and overclocking.
I don't really wanna change to mac when i have a MSI Neo2 Platinum w/ amd64 3500+, 2x 512 mb OCZ EB 466MHz@500Mhz 1-3-3-3-10 3,0v, ati x800xt, 36gb raptor 10 000 rpm hdd + 280 gb, Lian Li etc. etc...

Nice rig! I've had my hand out for nearly two years and those timings look amazing for that speed. Is that one raptor or a pair? I've heard a lot of people have issues raiding them up (and then there is the price consideration).
Out of curiosity, what kind of cooling are you using? My p4 is getting a little long of tooth and I'm planning for some dual core athlon64 action. I'll probably water cool my current system first (I get a 10% oc on a zalman - thank god for the northwood core - and should be able to get 25% easy on water) but need to keep looking down the road. I might go with a tec setup on the athlon if I'm convinced that condensation won't be an issue.
Last word on Mac vs PC - OSX is built on Unix, the greatest OS ever built imnsho. That gives it a serious pedigree in my eyes - if they had the hardware and software issues covered I would love to play in the Mac world.

Meh… this may be off-topic, but no raiding of raptors(lack of funds). As for the cooling, the ram has heatsinks and is somewhat aircooled to keep the temp down. The cpu is not overclocked at the moment (will do that l8ter). Btw had some instability probs on the ram, cuz neo2 don't like eb for some reason. But i fixed it with adding more volts to the 12, 5 and 3,3v rails. Haven't tried watercooling an amd64 yet(also lack of funds... meh...), but it goes +13% w/ retail cooling and good air flow.
osx is unix-based? Didn't knew that (which proves how much i've used and cared about macs  )
Interesting...
Well I like my pc for a couple reasons one is because I am a kid and when you tell your mom I want a computer your not gonna get the most expensive thing (unless your me) but as a kid i dont do anything with graphics i wanna play my half life2 and such and i dont like macs mouse with 1 button i like my pcs 3 buttons (now maybe if i didnt just use a mac at school it would be different) so i like pc more (also those new mac mini's look cool)
!@#!!#@$!
My Mac went haywire a few hours ago.
I now love my PC more.
Stinkin fan.
PC. I have been using PCs since the first time I used a PC and I am quite accustomised to the UI and some stuff. I would try out a MAC if I have the money. And for me, most of the applications I use runs on Windows.
I like PC when I just sit by the computer, surf and chat, etc. But when it comes to work such as editing movies, making music and such, then I prefer Mac.
mac is better with individual hardware like the ipod or laptop but i still say the note book pc was awsome
i prfer pc overall
I've always had a mac, mostly because my folks are in graphic design, so i got a mac for college.
Macintosh.
I have 4 Macs and 2 PCs, but I prefer Macs. My first computer was a Mac, so it's what I'm used to.
Also, I've never had any spyware problems with my Macs (awhile back I had major spyware problems with my PC…I still was never able to get Internet Explorer working again, but I just switched to Firefox and haven't been having as many problems). I do like PCs for gaming though.
Most of the people I know (from school) make fun of me for liking Macs, but I try not to let it bother me too much.
I use a PC with Windows XP. To be honest, the only Macs I've ever used were VEEEERY old at my elementary school, so I don't know the Mac that well.
(Did that make a damn bit of sense ?_? )
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACSSSSSS
PC!
Simple and familiar.
I can play KOF in PC too :D
