I think I read up to volume 11. It's pretty good.

I've read the first few books of the manga, and starts out pretty fun, but it gets incredibly boring after book 4 or so (when they get to the forest, the series just crashes and burns). It's still going on, too, from what I've heard, but still hasn't really gone anywhere.
The anime, on the other hand, was just flat out lousy from the first minute, IMHO.

Mostly the anime is just boring. I never read the manga, might at some point, it has a good reputation.

Yep, the anime is a veritable snoozefest. It puts you into a coma. The manga's okay, though at some point I stopped reading it too.
I liked Benitora and Sanada though. I thought they were okay.

i have the 20 first volumes. it's ok and fun and the drawings are really good.
i thought that the anime sucked very much, i've never been able to finish watching it

i've seen the anime and the first chapzter of the manga. didn't like it much. i liked the Ice powers of that blind guy though:)

Kyo felt like it was trying to be a Tokugawa Kenshin, but failed. The anime lost me after a few episodes. The manga was better, but eventually it lost me too.

well…its an interesting manga but i get confusing at some portion of time...starting reading it not too long ago since my bro started buying the taiwan version of it which i'm currently having trouble understanding.

The anime is really, really bad. It sums up almost 2 volumes of the manga in a single episode, all the violence it cut out, and for some reason everyone turns to demons. (To soften the impact of the violence when they get cut up.)
The manga's nothing special. Nothing but fights, cliched characters, and pointless fanservice, very little actual character development.

[snapback]44856[/snapback]**you're right but past the 12th volume, the story gradually becomes interesting and you can't deny that the drawings are great. even some characters become really interesting, as yukimura or some bad guys.
well it's true that a lot of things are better, but i really enjoy reading it. B)

The art is nice, but it lacks personality. It has an 'every other manga' look ot it.

Don't ask me why, but I loathe Samurai Deeper Kyo with extreme passion. I have never seen the anime, but I ordered the first three manga from Amazon from all it's good reviews… I just thought it was so predictible, not only that but to me it felt like it was a kids manga with adult themes added... I can't put my finger on it, but I just well and truly dislike this manga.
On it's pro points, the art is consistent and smooth, I really like the front cover of the first volume and I can perhaps see why other people like it, but I myself just, really dislike it… Well, the guy behind it obviously tried hard... But maybe too hard, it's waaay too formulaic for me...

I started reading this manga like 2 months ago and I really have to say it's pretty good sorta like Rurouni Kenshin only the main character gets to
kill people.Do to me being lazy and busy I've just recently gotten up to Vol. 3
so I'm still pretty far behind.

well, i'm up to vol 24 and it's still pretty good. the drawings make the manga a must-read by themselves and the characters are fun.

when you're a kinda fan of the manga, you can't even bare to watch the anime. you want to spit in the face of the guys who did it at each new episode.
too bad the scanslation teams who work on it are really slow, because it's a really good manga, even if very cliché.

hehe i thought about reading what's out in english but then i realised i really don't like Kyo instead i like Kyoshiro more. But since Kyo is the main char there's nothing in this manga for me.
