Nyaah, really!?! That's awesome, I can't thank you enough for doing that to your sister xD Kamakiri is sooo badass, and if you do manage to get a Shandia group together, well, that'll be something I've only seen twice. Why wouldn't anyone do Eneru?? He's a great cosplay, both costume and character-wise. Shame on your male friend! Maybe you should tempt him with 'oversea fandom' if he does it?

Yeah, haha, old men with long beards is just about the coolest things ever, other example is PaiMei from KillBill. (I'd do exactly as Luffu…pet his beard, although PaiMei would probably kill me instantly)

we have another friend who said he'd do Eneru but I think that I would have to make his whole costume for him for free and I can't do that -___-;;; so I doubt he'll get an Eneru together xD but would be nice to be surprised!

also, still afraid to do Kamakiri xDD ahh~ gotta work on self and also, get cosplay done x.x I want to cosplay Mihawk too and a Supernova I think xD maybe marines too!

I still kinda wanna do Ohm >__> part of me wants to have that badass sword, YEAH for unrecognizable cosplay xD LMAO!!! You know probably not even One Piece fans at A-kon will know who the priests are. I hate to have such a low opinion of the OP fandom there, but..there's just.. a serious lack of OP love a lot of the time, plus all the great people who went last year and made the con soo wonderful aren't coming back this year

Hey don't forget Aisa! Aisa's costume is so simple, that I should definitely get that done in time for Otakon. And I think as long as I keep up with Zumba and eating right, I should definitely lose enough weight in time to start Laki and have her done for Otakon.

I am thinking about making Chris cosplay Shura. But I know he wants to do other cosplays first…so that will be a battle. lol.

Anyway, I do have some progress! I am making Naoko a cosplay of Stella from Arakaway Under the Bridge. I am actually doing this all on my own. Which is amazing, because I am such a noob when it comes to sewing. But the hubby doesn't ever really work on cosplays, so it gets frustrating relying on him. So I am branching out.

Also I lost my pattern instructions, so I am just kinda guessing about how to do stuff. So far, it is turning out decently. Not the best job in the world, but I am still pleased with myself.

! Yes I know Stella's dress doesn't have the yoke tope thing, but that is what the pattern called for. And right now, I don't feel like going out, buying more fabric and taking this all apart to make it so it is just one solid piece at the top. It is for a 6 year old, I don't need 100% accuracy.

It looks really awesome Omni! And like you said, she'll out grow it in a year anyways, so there's no need to try and go all out accurate with it. I think it' looks fantastic for you not being the best at sewing, I know exactly how you feel XD

I am almost done with this cosplay! Woohoo! All that is left is for her to try it on and make sure the sleeves look right. Then I need to do the collar, zipper and shorten it!

I want to do Bellemere, Dragon, Pell, Bachina, 2YL Sanji or Usopp, or maybe one of the casual Strongworld outfits. There are so many choices ;o;

Btw, I'm finally working on my Ryuma, and it's gonna be crazy! Already that damn mask is driving me nuts, but I'm sure the work will pay off. Just 2 more weeks... And I'm gonna have to go to Sweden to sew on my mums sewing machine. Yay for not having birthday yet and being to poor to buy a new one :getlost:

Almost done with Stella! I just need to do the ascot/neck tie, zipper in the back and the petticoat. Then the main part of the cosplay will be done. After that I'll worry about finding shoes and socks and hair ribbons. But I'm not super worried about those.

And yes, I ended up cheating on the collar. Instead of making one, I just cut some sleeves off of a button down shirt.

I do remember you! At least at the most recent Sakuracon and Kumoricon XD I'm so happy that they are other northwest OP cosplayers to chat with.

Looks like my cosplay partner wants to do Edo-jidai stuff, so I might actually end up cosplaying Chief Detective Luffy so that'll be an experience. I never in my life intended to cosplay Luffy since I'm so in love with smaller bit characters. I hope to get Bellemere done since I already hacked up a wig to prepare for dying as an experiment, so I might get lucky and have two nice casual OP cosplays to give me some time off Gwendolyn from Odinsphere, which is my major costume for Sakuracon.

Hmm, I am searching for info on Ryumas kimono, what are the kanjis on the arms? Am about to do the printing you see, and I seeme to have forgot where I found out about it before :getlost:
Anyone who can help me on this?

EDIT; Oh, wait, I found it on the OPwiki

His samurai gi has the kanji "龍" (dragon) on its sleeves, most likely a reference to the dragon he killed in the past.

Anything else you would like to point out now I'm making a Ryuma cosplay? Something I should care extra for, details that are often forgotten etc. I'm not quite sure about the color scheme on the print, but I believe its black, dark blue or dark red. :3

Awesome Ryuma…wow! My sword wont be nearly thaty pretty, although I worked on it a lot. Need more time, so I'm going to upgrade the costume after this weekend as well. Look forward to wear it!

I do live in Quebec, I just say Ottawa since no one GENERALLY knows where I am.
Ive seen round flight for 300$ So the difference really isn't there after you look the bus prices + flight

ya, i didn't know gateneau until i went there with my friends this spring. that's so awesome that you can walk across a bridge and be in another city AND province. I even tell my relatives I'm in Toronto, but technically that's not right.

Yeah, he definitely is. I'm just a beginner on prop. But I think it's fun to make, sometimes even more fun than the actual costume :3

Anyway, cosplayed Ryuma this weekend, and my friends took loads of pictures, promise to show them soon. Of course there's already a lot I want to make better, mainly the mask and sword. Here's one of the pic I got myself;

Thank you Kitsch! Happy you liked it! And yeah, katanas are hard, part of mine was made some years ago by my bro and dad for a zoro cos. But it's mostly wood, just the details are made of paper clay.

So~
We finally gathered alltogether for a tea-party yesterday and decided to make a crappy photoshoot! We didn't have it planned, so Captain literally didn't have ANYTHING with him, so we had to throw random bandana and my old Aokiji (LOL) wig, and a plush-BB coat on XD Just to see how we look together~

My Luffy Oyabun wig came in the mail yesterday. It so amazingly easy to style! to Hong Kong and their awesome cheap wigs. Scuse the eyebrows, mine are naturally orange :x

Just wanted to update saying I spend the other day painting stripes on my fabric. Red with wide blue pinstripes just doesn't exist. I was amazed how long it took to mark 3 yards.

I ponder on next years OP cosplays, and cosplays in general. I might be going with the Danish WCS team to either France or Japan, but it's still pending. If I'm going there will most likely be not much money to do costumes :'/ Bt the idea of going is great

There will however be some dressing up here and there, for example I'm bound to go as a 'Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou'-team member for a new years dinner.
