It almost makes up for the past 3 years of shitty opening animations! Someone slap me because I must be dreaming! The direction on that is FANTASTIC and I'm only partially through! I had to pause it to make this comment because it feels just like the openings of the 80's and 90's that weren't full of brooding drawn out shots or spastic off-the-wall 'zaniness'.

The crew hanging out, their abilities displayed, hints at the future and current storyline, a scrolling display of villains not to mention from a design perspective the use of space is fantastic! Wow! It feels like the OP's from days when Japanese animation didn't completely suck ass!

Edit: Finally they brought back something that I've haven't seen since Believe. Its where they quickly show pics of the arcs that have yet to come. Like in WE Are they showed Buggy, Kuro, Don Krieg, Alvida and Smoker…then Dragon.
And this is understandable, having Franky standing behind the Straw-Hats while they're doing their little thing, since hes new and we haven't seen him interact with the crew yet. Well watch 1:09 and watch Franky.
I've listened to 5050's Shonan Midnight Club and he obviously fluent in english. Well hes not making it sound like Engrish, his little rap was cool, I liked it becasue it had a simple rhyme scheme in it. Which is rare in most anime openings.
I don't it as a whole. The first part of the song is boring and repetitive like Crazy Rainbow.
It'd be a lot better if they cut out the first minute. The last minute suddenly becomes way different and much better, both in animation and sound.

Also, anyone notice that the Thriller Bark people are drawn and placed in the exact same position they are in the latest manga volume cover, with the exception of Hogback and Moria? (And Odz, since he was never there to begin with.)
The opening is very nice. The rap is an attention grabber for sure, and scrolling-smiling-happy-time ftw!

At least they're showing some of the other characters who have significant role within One Piece. Not randomly inserting Ace and Mihawk. Plus they have too much Ace lately. Oh wait…then again this "trigger" does involve Ace...

The song is pretty meh. Nothing at all stands out about it. Not very memorably at all, I don't think.
The footage was OK. A lot of it was pretty dull though. "Hey the Strawhats are walking around!" The part with Brooke seemed pretty out of place. I did like the shots of some of the recurring characters, though.

I felt kinda underwhelmed, there were some GREAT animated parts, but the song is pretty meh (aside from that English segment which is AWESOME), and as a whole I kinda liked Crazy Rainbow better.
Who knows though, maybe after seeing it a few more times, I'll dig it, plus, I wasn't a big fan Hikari E, but love seeing it in English by Funimation, maybe it'll be the same way (years down the line of course)

Now, where did you obtain that piece of information? I've never heard of One Piece being praised for the endings. Besides, I barely remember any of them.

I like how they included Brooke iin there, but they should've shown more of thriller bark. Besides that, the thing itself made me feel special XD

What, the second ending? I freaking loved that one. I think it went really well with the episodes it was following (the Arlong Arc). XD Sometimes during that arc I needed a reminder that things would go back to being good again, and a happy ending really did that for me.

The only endings I didn't really like was well….the 3rd one, I dunno, for some reason. My most fave endings had to be ED 8, 14, 15, and 18.
The song was pretty forgettable. So was a lot of the footage, but I loved the Sunny pimping near the end. Still better than Crazy Rainbow.
Not loving the song,but anything's better than Crazy Rainbow. It is getting catchier the more I listen to it and yeah, the opening is kewl and the displays of the crews powers. I rly enjoy that the opening really focuses mainly on Luffy and he has a ton of kewl poses and scenes in it. The rap part is win. I'd like to suggest that the guy who kept going on and on about how 5050 is NOT hip hop at all please try not to choke on all the crew you will now have to swallow. The rap in the intro is my favorite part of only for the high levels of you were wrong it emits! 
I love the way the logo appears,too. And that unlike the last two or three openings, this one actually has decent looking animation without any choppy scenes.

LOL. I agree and I noticed right away it looks like the scene is ripped straight from the watashi (ed3)ga ending and they just changed the colors and stuck franky in!

Believe is a horrible opening…so much so that I had to bold-italic-underline how crappy it is. But hey that's just what I think, If people like it then that's cool 
. The new OP totally stomps my balls, I totally did not expect Brooke being animated or a flash of the Triller Bark characters. Very great opening and the animation is perfect...Stuff like this just brings tears to my eyes. The rap in english part was unexpected though...
