I made this thread to see how many fans of Harvest Moon there are on this site. It's personally one of my favorite video game series out there.

On Topic: Never actually played any of the Harvest Moon games. They seem pretty simple and fun, though - one of those quaint games that you play to relax.
I'll learn to get over it eventually, thank you guys.
And now, on topic. They are relaxation games to me too. A nice game you'd want to play after a hard day in the office or so ^_^

No No No. What you really want to do is use a cricket bat. They do some of the wickedest shit to people ever. 
Anyway I never played a Harvest Moon game before. Saw them advertised but never intrigued me to pick up and play one.

Oh yeah, if it wouldn't lead to anybody getting sent to jail, I'd definatly use one of those 
And you should atleast rent one of the games. Harvest Moon for the ds is a good start for people who haven't played it before.
Almost picked up Harvest Moon back in the SNES days, but decided against it, for whatever reason. Probably just didn't look interesting when you're a 10 year old boy.
Moreover, Gohn's DS is basically never used anymore. Would definitely pick up a Wii Harvest Moon, if they ever make one.
Actually, they are making 2 HM games for the Wii. I'm not so sure when they're coming out, but it's pretty soon though.
I played the Gamecube one (I forget the title, maybe "A Wonderful Life.") I married the hot bar slut, we had a kid, and I lost interest in the game.

I used to play the SNES Harvest Moon a lot when I was a kid. It's still my favorite of the series.
A Wonderful Life wasn't that very good of a game, but I think it sort of redeemed itself with the re-release where after you died you can have that classic time-less game with a little bit of extra stuff.

Yup, one is a "futuristic version", if I remember correctly. And the other one has different player characters and you can actually choose your gender, like in MM.

The Wii version is coming to the U.S. on Q2 2008, apparently.
The Japanese version came out in June.
I heard that from people, but I didn't know if it was true or not. And I have to wonder how good it'll play, but, seeing as how I don't have a Wii, it'll be a while after it comes out before I know.

It's as good as the GBA Games. The graphics of the game were sweet, and I think Mineral Town only had a bit more of options, not that much of a difference between it and the snes version.

Really? Then I guess I didn't miss much. But I thought there were things like movie theaters and a secret island on that game, unless I'm thinking of a GBC game.
played the SNES version and loved it. didnt know there was a whole series of it untill i tried the.. which one was it.. gamecube? version in a store. didnt play much and was continueing wherever some kid that didnt understand english dropped off. (meaning i didnt have any instructions and the kid had acomplished nothing.)
was pretty confuising and didnt get to any of the fun parts.

no the gamefaqs site was kinda out of reach for me. 
no idea i didnt manage anything. couldnt find any seeds to plant. all i can assume is that someone that played it previous to me messed something up and left the char pennyless and itemless.
