Pet Names

In honor of the jerk that I recently found, I've decided to make this thread!

In case that doesn't make any sense, I shall elaborate.

Two weeks ago - on my birthday no less - my little sister stayed the night, left the balcony door wide open all night, and that jerk of a cat, Turles, jumped off. Yesterday, I walked to a place called Reber Ranch to look at the kittens there, and adopted one. My older sister, who lives with me, already had a name planned since she likes how it sounds.

I repeat - my sister named the new cat Monkey D. Luffy. Just as it came out, the little thing I adopted is a little livewire, and seems just as energetic as his namesake. Only, I couldn't take him home since it took an hour to walk there, and my sister wasn't answering her phone, so I had to adopt, and leave him there for the night so we can pick him up today.

This morning, as I was going down the stairs - two weeks after my birthday - I saw Turles sitting outside. My theory is that he tracked my scent back to the apartments.

Now then, Turles is a jerk, and he's named after another jerk from DBZ. I have another cat named Piccolo, and he's a lovebug - like we all know the green Piccolo is deep down - and Monkey D. Luffy is going to drive 'em both crazy with his antics.

Do any of you have pets named after anime characters that are similar to their namesakes? If you don't, what character would you name a pet after?

I once had a kitten I named Kuroneko (like the Kuroneko pirates). It's the same kitten I had two years ago.

The next ones aren't OP-related. My two cats (that are alive right now) are Palmetto and Sasha. They were already named before I adopted them from the shelter.

I want two cats, a siamese cat (which I'll never do because I dislike the idea of buying animals) to call siam and a spotted one to call buchi. and a black one named kuro 4 good measure.

If I ever get a welsh corgi, I'm going to name it "Ein". Of course, I'll probably never get one.

Haha, I named one of my dogs Chopper before. xD
Sure, he was nothing close to a doctor, but he's completely frightened out of his mind around new people. Basically, he hides until he knows they're safe. -_-

Strange behavior for a dog, but he's certainly similar to Chopper in other ways as well.

XP Haha, Ein and Chopper are great names. And I like the name Buchi for a cat.

Monkey D. Luffy seems to be slowly settling in now. Turles and Piccolo are teaching him he's the littlest jerk of the household right now.

Turles = Hellspawn (Biggest Jerk)
Piccolo = Knows He's Cute and Lords It Well (Jerk)
Luffy = Ambushes For No Reason (Littlest Jerk)

When Luffy's bigger, he'll probably gain the upperhand on Piccolo at least.

None of my pets were named after characters, but I'm gonna go right a head and list em.

My dog, who is around 12 and has been with me most my life is named: Nat. After "Nat King Cole". My Nani(my Grandmother) named him.

My first hamster (may he rest in peace, he died around 6 years ago.) I named: Buzzy, or Bugsy. I spelled it Buzzy while it was pronounced Bugsy.

My second hamster (may he rest in peace, he died around 2 years ago.) I named Zenny.

And finally, my parakit I actually did name after a character….but here's the kicker, it's a character I created. The birds name: Showna. And just like that character she's(we call her a she, we really don't know the gender) pretty mean, always wanting to bite a chunk out of me.

Well… I have a puppy named Baxter and his sister named Emma (tho I spell it Ema cuz I named her after the Phoenix Wright character XD) oh, and I guess I should note my brother named Baxter after the dog in Anchorman.

Back when we had hamsters, one was called Mr Grimm (Twisted Metal) and the other was SnowBee...
Umm... the bunny's name was CrashBunnyCoot...
OH! And I named one of my Babba's cats Luffy, but we called him Floppy shrugges

I had a dog named KikkioMan... yes, my dad named him after the soysauce.

My dog's name is Sully. He came with the name, but it fits because he likes to get in the trash and make a mess (even 11 years later).

My ex-girlfriend named her dogs some strange stuff. Her first dog was named Motley Crue, her second dog is Smoker, the Midnight Toker, and her current puppy is Ducchess Diamond Persnikitiky the First, Last, and Only.

I also once had a Texas Bird-Eating Spider (Tarantula) I named "Terror from Beyond", or Terry for short, and a kitten I named Persephone (after the Greek Goddess of the underworld), Perse for short.

When I adopted Miles James, it was the day of the big OU/OSU bedlam football game (big thing in Oklahoma.) I am a massive Oklahoma State fan, and even though we lost that game, it was the best one I had ever seen. I named Miles after the head football coach Les Miles. Two weeks later that jerk quit OSU and somewhere else. Kinda Pissed me off. Oh well. Miles is a good name, and I don't know where James came from but all my pets have middle names.

If I ever get another cat, I'd probably name it after a OP character.

Ah, this reminds me. I'm not the only one that's named their pets after characters. My friend has two cats named Wakka and Lulu from Final Fantasy!

My friends two cats are Baka and Genki. Very fitting names for both of them. Baka isn't too bright, and Genki is the most hyper cat I've ever seen. He is the first cat I've seen that actually runs down the stairs and bounces off the walls.

It's been a while since I've had a hyper cat. Turles and Piccolo are pretty mellow compared to the new kitten. >.> I keep expecting some kind of "Gomu Gomu no Cat Scratch Fever!" from him or something.

i was kind of hoping too. Anyways, I used to have 2 Degus. (look it up) They were named Ken and Ryu. (2 males, who fought if I put them together) Ken died though, so I guess that means Ryu wins.

My friend has three of cats, I only remember the name of one of them, Ceres, like from Hellsing. He said if he ever gets another cat, he'll name it Raoh. Because he likes saying "Raaaaaaaaaoooh!" as he smacks me down in Jump Ultimate Stars with Raoh.

My little border collie's name is Eistein after the dog from Back to the future.

My pitbull's name is Mikey since that was supposed to be the border collie's name originally, and there was objections to that from my step dad.

However I call my pitbull Franky more times than I do his real name (Which sadly, he responds to xD), for two reasons: He LOVES Cola and won't hesitate to steal a full bottle from anyone who has it near them, open the bottle with his teeth and drink what comes out, and he'll also whine like the biggest baby on the planet when I leave the house. ><;;

A friend of mine named his dog after the robot thingy from power rangers.I tghink it was larago, from the early stuff. the dog is damn ner 10 years old already. I named my box turtle "boxy brown" from ATHF (aqua teen hunger force), not anime names but kick ass one none the less.

clever dog, I remember how my dog tried to trick me, when I was eating he ate half of the stuff on my plate. since then I always had to close the doors before starting my meal
I know a cat that was named homer like our yellow friend from the simpsons because of his colour. Not an anime/manga but worth mentioning cause this cat has turned into the fattest most laziest thing I ever saw in my life. He IS Homer Simspson, he already eats donuts and he seems intrested in beer but I´m not allowed to give it to him ^^ however he is a very kind animal (but maybe he is just to lazy to bite )

Uno - my chocolate lab, best dog ever. XD Such a baby though.

Luggy - male Pomeranian…I hate him. >.< Thinks he's tough by barking at people under the couch.

Princess - female Pomeranian, hate her also. >.< Both of these mutts are my Aunts and unfortunately can't get rid of them despite pissing and crapping on the floor a lot.

Puck - Blue budgie, named after Puck from Berserk, can sometimes be annoying when he doesn't get his way. o__o

Lord Blazer - Our new white/light yellow budgie...still getting used to the house, and I'm hoping my brother will stick them in the same cage soon. >.<;;
