Went to hospital on Friday, like I do every three weeks to get my immunoglobulin (no immune system, you see) and I found out that I've contracted leukaemia. AGAIN!

Ugh, it's like I'm some sort of disease magnet. I'm not really bothered about it, because I'm 100% sure I'll live. but it's a bit annoying because I have to stay in hospital for several weeks and receive pan-inducing injections.

Anyway, leave your thoughts, flames, incessant ramblings, and generally indifferent posts after the beep.

I didn't know someone could contract leukemia. I always thought it was a hereditary cancer.

But, then again, shows how much I know. Looks like I'll be having fun with Wikipedia.

Damn, that sucks. Really makes you feel how much you take your body for granted, having a immune system is quite handy.

Oh man, I am SO sorry. I empathize with what you're going through, since my dad suffered through a really bad desies/ms/ for a long time. But I really hope to fight this off!

He's just saying as a matter of fact. No different than bushi going on about going to NY, Or e1n's meteor shower thread. I've never met anyone with no immune system. It must make daily life interesting. Things we take for granted.

So was this something you were born with, or because you've had lukimia before, etc? Doesn't your imune system have to do with stuff in your blood? couldn't they just give you new blood or something. A blood translpant? You can see I don't know much.

You seem to be taking things well. You don't sound all emo. though, i wouldn't blame you if you were having a tough time. Well we'll have to find you fun stuff on the net if your gonna be stuck in a boring old hospital then.

I wish you the best of luck in your battle. My uncle died of leukemia some 20 years ago and my father is currently immobilized by Stage 4 cancer. It's a terrible disease and though the medical community has made great strides in this area, we are still far from any sort of comprehensive treatment, let alone a cure.

To answer your question, God isn't trying to kill you anymore than he tries to kill everyone. We all will die; some live to a nice ripe old age and go peacefully in their sleep, some are mowed down by a drunk driver, others are killed suddenly by a roadside bomb in a foreign country, and others die a long and drawn out death from horrible diseases, and these are but a few of the myriad of ways that there are for a humans life to end. Accept that life is a fleeting thing, but by no means should you go quietly into the night.

Man, I've had people lie about all kinds of serious stuff - dead relatives, tumors, life-threatening diseases, upcoming surgeries, you name it.
