Before this thread comes to a close I just have to ask, is it going to be worth it to watch the original anime or should I just continue with the remake because I am finding it to be very interesting and the one week wait is killing me, so any advice

I would definetely suggest you to watch the original anime, instead of waiting every week. It might look a bit outdated, but it did a damn great job.

Anyways, about the next episode, i'm guessing that Killua is gonna crush that heart like a biscuit. There's no way there will be any blood.

I really read that wrong. I thought you were talking about Biscuit, the character, not the food lol.

I think this anime, since it wasn't super bloody in the original, the lack of blood is alright. Not desired but it's okay. They edited the scenes I most wanted to see anyways originally. Hisoka and his arms during the floor match in the tower got edited down a lot.

Honestly though aiming for younger kids is a weird move. Will they still show Ubo going cannibal? Gon and his arms?

I don't get why you'd make something that's actually very dark into something it's not. I know Japan has different standards for censoring, but with a character like Hisoka with his obvious lust for killing and strong opponents, Killua's desire to kill, Kurapika's unquenchable rage, I couldn't imagine watching that right after Spongebob lol.

They're trying to make Hunter X Hunter a big thing again. It seems weird to reboot the whole enormous series otherwise.

When Shounen Jump has a choice of making something appeal to younger audiences or appeal to older audiences they will chose the former each and every time.

While you can notice that the new anime is aimed at a younger audience, I believe despite some questionable music choices, it still gets the idea right. Only two deaths that have been avoided so far, the guy choosing the wrong place (I think you heard him screaming in the manga) and Hisoka not killing that fleeing monkey, which even makes a little sense, because I can hardly see Hisoka even caring about an extremely weak animal.
And while some of the style of the manga gets lost in the new anime, at least it's not avoiding to show what a cruel world the story takes place in. Hisoka is clearly a psychopath, the scene with Killua murdering people because he's in a bad mood was also shown and death is still behind every corner.
For now, I'm just wondering about how they'll do some specific scenes, like Ubo vs the mafia hitmen or the ants arc in general, but for now, I'm still enjoying this more than other shonen jump anime.
Edit: Also nice to still have the anime going when the manga goes on hiatus again in 4 or 5 weeks

He removed the guy's arms but they disolved into the air in a haze of card suits lol…So I'm on the fence of that being less censored. It also makes we wonder if they are goin to make him seem more magical? Cause that ability is weird. I don't quite think if falls under his scope of canon abilities.

Not confirmed no, but with Togashi's track record, there's a good chance it probably will soon.

No, it's just that some don't see Togashi putting out more than 21 chapters in a row (seeing as he never has…).

episode 8 ended exactly at the same point the old anime did in episode 13, so if you want to continue then start off with episode 14

I think that the older anime actually had better animation up till the greed island stuff. I finally figured out why Killua looked weird to me. His eys are a tad rounder, his mouth is bigger and his hair in't quite as spikey in the front.

true, first anime had some really good animation. i'm just talking about the outdated… uh, quality? (i don't really know how to call it). suffice it to say that the first anime does look like it's 13 years old already and some people might be distracted by that.

but seriously, the first anime is fantastic. it's even better than the manga in many parts

I've only watched the dub on the first anime and only for Gon and Hisoka's fight in that battle tower… I really hated Hisoka's voice so I never tried it again.

And it's interesting seeing all those candidates. Because so many people voted for Leorio they had enough to hold a re-election where the number of candidates was limited to the top 16.
I somehow find it hilarious that among these other guys whos titles are like "1 star hunter" "found/discovered/did this this and this". Leorio's description says. "Rookie. New star that punched Ging. Currently studying with the hopes of becoming a doctor." Also apparantly his last name is… Parodyknight? Something like that. Baradinite. Paradinight...

Ok I am definetely going to try and catch up with both the manga and the old anime(I did get through old one piece episodes so old quality doesnt really matter), but a few questions, according to what I have read this manga doesnt seem to shy away from death as one piece does, so does this mean that that honest innocent boy(gon) is going to start killing or will it just be his new buddy killua.

Also this Hisoka guy, he's the guy with the cards right? I get the impression from a post a few pages back that the whole magic thing he is doing in the anime isn't actually canon is it true? and I thought he was a hunter, at least thats what I got from him attacking Leorio and Gon in the clearing. Is the old anime also "kid" friendly or do they actually try and depict the manga as it is?

It certainly doesn't relate directly to combat prowess but it relates somewhat to the skill(of what nature that skill isn't necessarily important) of said hunter.
And if HxH thought us anything is that you don't necessarily win fights with pure combat prowess.
