Unfortunately, while someone DID do scans of the Hunter's Guide, said scans are rather hard to come by. Once I get back to the states and have a high speed connection, I'll try to start distroing them again. Of course, they're still in Japanese only, so I don't know how much good they'll do most people.

i'm sad coz' up to vol 20, hunter x hunter was one of my fav manga ever (it was also the real first interesting shonen i read, this helped) and now, it's not really bashing but telling the truth to say that it's nearly crap.

I still try to keep up, but I must agree with you. Of all four weekly shonen jump series I read, HxH is presently the one that gets me the least excited, for exactly the reasons you stated. Every time he's tried going for a plot point like he's done in past arcs it always seems to go flat. I'm also unhappy with the combat-centricness of this arc, seeing as I believe there has been about 10 times more combat in this arc than in all previous arcs combined, and it's all been rather uninteresting; just random battles that give Togashi the excuse to show off Nen. I miss Nen being special and nifty…

i don't know if you know, i don't even know if somebody keeps reading hxh but togashi is "sick" so no hxh for… a few time. he'd better spend this time to work on his drawing skills and come back with something that looks like a good story, not empty chapters going nowhere imo.

I hope Togashi realizes that he desperately needs assistants, not only cause the art is dogshit but also cause if this illness is serious enough for hospitalization (and it has been rumored to have been going on for a while) and he want to continue being a mangaka than it would only make sense to relive some of the stresses associated with being the one man show that he is now.

Seriously, this guy is being paid to produce lineart/sketches at this point. If he wasn't the husband of the Sailor Moon mangaka he'd be done. Sure HXH was great at the start and YYH was also a pretty good manga, but lately he has been churning out crap.

well maybe togashi does't liek having assitants his wife helped him out a few times and i read somewhere he was a bit sick in the begining but still continued making lots of chapters i actually like the fact that he doesn't have assistants.

If he is sick, yeah that's an excuse, but get better. Don't worry about drawing. Because as others have mentioned he has been sick since at least Greed Island if that is the case.

I'm curious about where does the manga pick up after G.I. Final in the anime. Unless I am mistaken the anime has him meating up with Nigg assuming the spelling was correct in the transation who may be the hunter he saw from the origional series.

he just ended the manga abruptly, with a bad end, because he was going nowhere since a long time ago. i didn't watch the anime, just read the manga (hey, the opposite of you
) and i know he started to make fighting tournaments ala dragon ball because he couldn't catch up with the schedule of the shonen jump releases. so the story became fucked up. and so is actually hxh, the story is kinda fucked up (imo), very slow and the characters do not have any charisma anymore (man, even the genei ryodan was fucked up while the fighting with this false queen). -

I must say that Togashi has a somewhat unique way of bending words, making characters know certain information from scraps (Like the good guys deducing that the king attacked himself). He uses logic, that counts…
