What can I say? I love politics. A lot of people despise it, but I enjoy it. I also love to hear opinions that people have about our government and about the President and things of that nature. If you have thoughts about the world that you'd like to express, feel free to exercise your freedom of speech here.

well my opinon on politics is this…everyone has got one. Though i'm not sure what i would say...i would say that i question everything that every government does but i'm more concerned about iran and iraq right now. There is that issue with homeland security how much is enough? The illeagl immigration issue as well. i do not know what is happening to our country and i fear it's downfall wil soon be eminent. I don't like debating, or causing arguments for no apparent reason but we do have the right to express our opinions, which is what makes our country so great, we have freedom of religion, freedom of speech. I just think that we are all taking it for granted really.
My tip of advice for everyone who is in this forum pay attention to Isreal...a lot of stuff has been happening down there. -_- i've heard from sources that an attack from iran and syria could be upon them within the month or the week. I think that the iranian president is nuts because he wants to wipe out that country for good!
oh yes our senators and people in congress suck ass...did i mention that. personally i'm all for the war intervention in iraq and stuff but enough is enough.... where do we draw the line in foreign polticis reallly? and yes if anyone is wondering i'm bored so bite me
-
no problem. i feel the same way on most of that.
-
i've heard from sources that an attack from iran and syria could be upon them within the month or the week
Sigged.

and if this thing on israel happens, what do you think will transpire, goldeneye? after all, we all know the end of the world is near.

If the state controlled most industry, it would be less corrupted by outside influences. The only people with sufficient wealth to manipulate candidates or distort an election would be the elected leaders already.

hmmm…......yeah

Umm… Idc much about politics, except...
GEORGE BUSH BETTER GET FUCKING IMPEACHED SOON, HE'S RUINING THE WORLD.
Nuff Said. -
Umm… Idc much about politics, except...
GEORGE BUSH BETTER GET FUCKING IMPEACHED SOON, HE'S RUINING THE WORLD.
Nuff Said. Please, something more intelligent. You can wait till next year right? Be patient.
-
I kept it quick and simple. And I can wait until next year? What the fuck are you talking about? In a year I'm definitely sure he can ruin the world a whole lot more. Does it not even come up as a problem to you how much of a bad president he is?
-
I can't stand racism, any form whatsoever.
I dislike sexism, but sometimes find jokes funny. (Why can't Helen Keller drive? Because she is a woman.)
I like Obama, meh about Clinton, and meh about McCain(sp?).
I'm all for government regulation and quotas, pro affirmative action for the next generation. I do see the flaw in affirmative action and would support a change to the system that benefits the bottom 10% incomes in the nation. However, as it is now, I would prefer affirmative action over nothing.
I do not understand gay people, and I will be biased against them if we meet. However, I support their decision to be gay and back their want to get married. Get out of here with this civil union bullshit.
I will always try my best to stop an abortion between people I know. Always. If I am involved, I will plead for the woman to suffer 9 months and then allow for me to have custody over the child. However, I believe that people should be allowed to have an abortion if they feel that that is the only option for them. I do not know what kind of a situation the person has been put through. I also believe that it is completely hypocritical for someone to be partly pro-life. People like that believe that abortions are bad unless in a case of rape, incest, or other "bad" scenarios. Their main argument generally is that it's a life, and should be given a chance to live, unless of course the baby was an accident or the result of a crime. Bullshit, playing "God" and selection who lives and who dies. I have respect for people who are completely pro-life though. It's generally because of how they were raised and what their religion teaches them. I have no quarrels with that, I just ask that those people realize not everyone is religious.
I am strictly against the death penalty, as I believe in remorse. An eye for an eye solves nothing, the murderer on death row still killed someone. Killing him will not bring back your loved ones, and will only fuel the chain of hate. Please stop the killings.

And I can wait until next year? What the fuck are you talking about?
Ever heard of the 2008 election?
-
Obama has Oprah supporting him, Hillary Clinton always looks angry, and Giuliani has had lots of wives.
For those very relevant reasons, Fred Thompson should be the next president.
-
I kept it quick and simple. And I can wait until next year? What the fuck are you talking about? In a year I'm definitely sure he can ruin the world a whole lot more. Does it not even come up as a problem to you how much of a bad president he is?
I think he's asking for you to back yourself a little more. WHY do you think he's a shitty president? Because everyone else says so?
Sure, Bush pretty much has done little to have us "love" him, but I haven't seen him do anything that threatens the end of the world. We've avoided some hot spots that COULD generate a massive war.
Our economy has also picked up over the past several years, with Dow Jones even seeing the largest numbers in history. Gas prices are high, so what? That's to be expected with the expanding market and state of war.
The PATRIOTACT however, that is bullshit.
-
I think he's asking for you to back yourself a little more. WHY do you think he's a shitty president? Because everyone else says so?
Thank you. It's highly depressing how many people detest Bush for reasons like CUZ FAMILY GUY SAID SO.
The PATRIOTACT however, that is bullshit.
Agreed entirely. It's also highly depressing how Canada has implemented a similar act in the Terrorist Act.
-
dang, looks like we have some spirited people here! I'm proud.
I'll reserve my thoughts for later. Continue.
-
My professor said I should go into politics because a fellow classmate said "more people should have minds like yours"
I felt dissed, fuck politicians; they're the worst kind of sellout scum. And screw this system that allows for them to take
bribesfor their campaigns so that factories can continue dumping waste into the rivers and we can continue pumping unnecessary hormones into cows. -
The dump has to go somewhere, and why not the rivers? I mean, we don't even need fresh water. We get what, 3 days with out it? Sounds like a plan to me. Waste + Water -> Money + World Peace. My math > yours.
-
My sig gives some hint of my way of thinking when it comes to politics.
I find it funny how these days hating Bush is "the cool thing to do", even without proper arguments. By no means am I a fan of Bush, but I also don't feel like I have the right to go "omg lol Bush Plz Die J00 ruin teh world!!1". I don't live in the US, so I don't have enough first hand knowledge of how he has been running the country.. war in Iraq? Oh well, shit happens, but still not enough to make me join the raging masses of fellow Europeans who want to hate the most powerful man in the world out loud, just to feel better about themselves / their own country.
Its cool to have opinions about politics, but please have at least some proper knowledge to back them up. (Not pointing at anyone here, just talking about mankind in general).
-
dang, we got foreigners here! awesome! I almost forgot about that…yes, yes, it'd be great to have citizens of other countries comment here as well...I'd love to get their side as well...
okay...I'm gonna shift gears for a moment.
Here's a question. Anyone can answer it honestly.
Everyone nowadays hates the Republican party and the Democratic party. Well, not everyone. most people would. Now, which one do you prefer any why?
Try not to simply answer "I hate both" or anything like that. Like, what values, interests, policies, or things like that do you like in one party or another?
-
dang, we got foreigners here! awesome!
Sorry, I just had to quote that.
Now, now. Politicians aren't that bad. They are like dentists - nobody doesn't like them but we still need them to keep everything alright.
-
Unfortunately I think those very few people actually suited to lead a country are much more likely to be out there aiming to become a dentist or something than even considering going into politics.
That said, I'm a communist.

must. not. post. in. this. thread.

must. not. post. in. this. thread.
My initial train of thought exactly, but then I figured there's no harm in running with it for a little bit for good fun before the inevitable and incessant wankery sets in and the thread spirals downwards to its fiery demise.
-
Ever heard of the 2008 election?
Ever hear of reading the rest of my post?
THE 2008 election oh goody. I AM looking forward to that, but Bush is such a fuckup, we're probably gonna be even deeper in shit in war by then.
Later on I'll give a lot more detailed description. Wanna hear something really sad tho? People who like Bush as president 47%, people who don't like Bush as president 53%. THAT Is worth an impeachment. -
So far, you're only reason for not liking Bush is that we are at war and 53% of people do not like him. Do you not understand what pulling out of Iraq means?
I support the communist remark.
-
Like I said I'd get more involved in this thread later. And I never said we had to pull out of iraq, thats a foolish idea,.
-
…evidently nobody wants to shift gears, so ok.
as for the communist, may I just say that its f***ed up.
as is the war.
as is mr. bush
as are elected officials
and may I point something else out also:
My stepfather ran for United States congress in 2004 and I helped him out alot. It was in this time when I realized the true loyalties (or lack of) in politicians and the fact is, the best ones usually work for higher bosses and work to get their goals achieved.
I love what my stepfather said when he ran: "I'm not a politician, I'm a problem solver."
-
@Mog:
That said, I'm a communist.
I don't know how serious you were about that but, just out curiosity, how well are communist parties doing in the Netherlands, or are there any at all?
-

I know only of one, the New Communist Party, which I coincidentally enough voted for last provincial elections. They're not exactly high up there (not a single seat in cabinet), an obvious minority but with enough voters to keep floating I suppose.
The Socialist Party (which is obviously just diluted communism :d) is pretty huge though.

This is why your great.

Like I said I'd get more involved in this thread later.
I can't wait. I'll go set my alarm now.

Bush sucks, the War sucks, and Racism sucks. nuff said

Way to be ignorant and not respect his political freedoms
As for 2008, that's a bigger shitshow than 2004, way bigger. Just you wait and see in 2009. On the plus side, Conan will have the Tonight show, so the comedy will be at an all time funneh
-
Tch, better than Kerry.
….............................Okay.... I'm not a fan of Kerry but, just..... um..................................... Well I guess Bush was just re-elected due to so many Americans being ignorant. 8 years with him, good job America!

Nope, not really, I just like to be sort of carefree on this forum, so your probably misinterpretating me.

Clearly a great reason to say that Bush sucks simply because other people don't like him. Way to join the bandwagon.

@Le:
Clearly a great reason to say that Bush sucks simply because other people don't like him. Way to join the bandwagon.
i have my reasons, but im just too lazy to post and this thread is going to hell in the first place
-
Ah yes, you have no problems telling us you are too lazy to post the reasons, but as for actually doing it, you say no.
How hard is it to list a point or two instead of saying "I'm too lazy and this thread is going to hell."
Example:
- He's from Texas.
- His last name is Bush.
- I don't like how he has handled the war.
Granted, 2/3 of those aren't really justifying reasons, I'm just trying to make a point that it's not too difficult to list your reasons. So far from you, we have 53% of the country does not like Bush and that the war sucks.
And if this thread is indeed deemed to go to hell, then I shall have something to look forward to. Hell seems like a… unique place.

Russia is an area that the world should keep an eye on. The political situation there is still tumultuous at best despite Putin's attempts to reinstate stability. It's still a world power, and it with a more stable economy could become a superpower again.
Israel will always be a place to watch, but neither Iran nor Syria will be willing to touch it. Iran may be run by a zealot, but Ayatollah Khoemeini wouldn't dare openly attack Isreal. He may say it, spout it from his soapbox, but doing that would be suicide for his country. Israel is the sixth largest nuclear power in the world, has heavy ties to the United States, and is probably the toughest country in the Middle-East. Whether you believe the Israeli's were right in taking land from the Palestinians or not they've fought everyone in that area to keep it.
Iraq is the most likely place to be invaded by outside forces. If and when the United States leaves, I see that place being cut up by the different political and cultural factions that live there. Larger, more stable countries won't stand for fledgling, zionist states and quickly move in while they're divided. As long as the United States makes its claims there though, no one will touch it for a long term invasion.

So… it's like in here. Except none of the communist parties hasn't even made into our Parliament yet. They get votes but they still don't quite make it. Most of those votes might be just "protest votes", tho. What parties there are in your Cabinet anyway? I'm not a communist myself --- just one of those your socialists. But I always voted for a green party. Unfortunately the Green League has been becoming a bit soft. They have this one quite bold idea which they have been advertising but even that isn't environmental idea but, instead, economical.
P.S. (This might make Runkuz flip out but) I don't like Bush at all.
-
….............................Okay.... I'm not a fan of Kerry but, just..... um..................................... Well I guess Bush was just re-elected due to so many Americans being ignorant. 8 years with him, good job America!
If you think you can do better why won't you run? Oh wait, because you're too fucking CAREFREE!
-
this thread is probably the perfect example of why talks about politics can't exist on most places of the internet
-
Bush sucks, the War sucks, and Racism sucks. nuff said
It's a good thing that there's still brave young men like you who're not scared to take risks and denounce Bush, war and racism on the internet. I'd personally add AIDS, hunger and baby dolphins caught in fishmen's nets. Stop fascism! NO PASARAN!!
On a side note and even if nobody asked and probably gives a shit, my ideas would be close from those of a leftist nationalist like Alain Soral.
