Xbox Live 360 Help?

So, my problem is that I can't connect to Xbox Live. When I go to test the connection, it says that my network adapter is disconnected even tho I've checked all the cords again and again. On the test connection, it does not make it past the first step.

If it helps, I have an RCA Cable Modem Model: DCM305 with a wired connection.

I don't know what's wrong since my connection to Live worked fine a few days ago, I haven't changed anything. I really hope this isn't a fault with the 360 itself. Any help will be gladly appreciated.

Well, I figured out that my ethernet port on my modem is messed up, but I'm wondering if it's something I can go into the computer and fix or if the modem needs to be replaced or operated on.

I'm guessing you don't have a Wi-Fi modem? If you do you can buy an attachment for the Xbox to use Wi-Fi.

What is the problem with the Ethernet port? Is it physically broken? Are the insides bent? Is there a wire loose on the inside? If so, I'd check and see if it's under warranty.

There are no marks or bends on the ethernet port. It just plain refuses to recognize my cords. But I figured out that my Xbox is fine, it's actually the cable modem that's messed up. But I called comcast, so they should be here tommorow to fix it (I hope). Glad the problem wasn't with my 360.
