Yet another fanfiction from Super Puppy! Hehehe.

      –----------------
Part One: A Change in the Wind

It was, as always may be, a day of days. That is, a normal day aboard the Thousand Sunny on the Grand Line. The sun burned brightly in the cloudless sky, and the gentlest of breezes swept through the air, ruffling the feathers on the seagulls gliding across the surface of the sea. The ocean was relatively calm for the Grand Line, though they surely weren’t trapped in the Calm Belt again. The Mugiwara were all outside, enjoying the rare and quiet occasion. However, as many silences with the pirates go, this one was broken far too early (in the opinion of some).

“Yosh!” The captain’s loud cry arose, so literally shattering the peace that you could almost hear it smash and flee. “I see land ahead!”

“No, Luffy, you don’t. Stop imagining islands,” Nami had looked up from her table, which was covered with various scattered papers and books from her mapping progress, “Find another way to occupy yourself.”

“But it’s so BORING right now,” Luffy complained in his loudest and most annoying whining voice. This time you could very nearly see the last of the boring, filling silence packing up and heading away (perhaps to the Naruto World…)
“I want to DO SOMETHING! Are there any Marines around to fight?” He suddenly perked up and looked around for a ship; his quick-turning head resembling that of a bird’s.

“No, Luffy. There are no Marines,” This time it was Usopp who spoke, “Can’t you go take a nap or something? Use Zoro as an example. Sleep’s the only thing he’s good for, anyway,” From a few yards away, he heard Sanji, Chopper, and Franky chuckle softly at the comment. Robin smiled as well. Zoro opened one annoyed eye to glare at them before returning to his slumber.

“Okeey-dokeey!” And with that, Luffy stood up, moved to the nearest wall, pulled his hat over his eyes, sat down, and fell asleep. The whole process looked so smooth it could have been rehearsed.

“Hmph,” Usopp turned back to his work. He was working on designing some new weapons to fire out of his slingshot. His favorite of the time was the Exploding Ink Star. This was a thin balloon-type-material filled with condensed dark blue ink (courtesy of Nami). When it impacted an object, the shell would burst, and the condensed ink would explode. The victim would be soaked in thick fluid that would slow them down, possibly reduce visibility, and permanently stain their clothes (it would also take hours to get out of skin and hair). He had decided early on that his unwilling and unwitting test subjects would be Zoro and Sanji. After carefully thinking it through, he had concluded that however they tortured him, it would be wholly worth the few moments he would get to see them soaked, stained, and confused. This came right before the anger part. But before testing, he was still working out some problems with the construction (he’d ruined some good clothes attempting this). But he figured that –

“Uh-oh,” Nami interrupted his thoughts; again looking up from her table and towards the sky.

“Nami-swan! Is something wrong?” Sanji glided over to her table in concern, complete with heart-eyes.

She ignored him. “I don’t like the look of that sky, and I can feel the air pressure dropping quickly. The temperature has lowered a few degrees, and the humidity… no, this isn’t good at all… hmm…” She was talking more to herself now than anyone else.

“What’s wrong? Is there a problem with the weather?” Franky inquired. He had been tinkering with some machinery on his arm and now looked up.

“We… are we going to… what’s going to happen?... Oh, I feel sick…”

“Quiet, Usopp. This is no time to panic,” Nami stood up and looked at the sky again, “We need to get inside. Zoro, roll up the sails… Zoro… ZORO!” He was asleep, and therefore didn’t hear her.

“I’ll do it, Nami-swaaaan!” Sanji was quick to come to the rescue. Before Nami could respond, he had climbed up and was pulling the sails in.

“Ah… thanks Sanji-kun,” she regained focus, “everyone else, in the galley. Usopp, get the rudder. And can someone bring Zoro in?”

Usopp, Chopper, Robin and Luffy headed directly inside. Franky went back to drag Zoro in, and Sanji finished tying the sails. Nami’s predictions had definitely been correct. Already, the first raindrops were falling and the sky was grey. Soon, thunder could be heard rumbling in the distance and lightning streaked across the sky. Usopp looked out nervously, and Chopper started shaking.

“Don’t worry,” Nami said, “it’s not that close…” she stopped short when a huge lightning bolt slammed the ocean not 200 yards/150 kilometers from the ship. The waves rocked Thousand Sunny, causing everything to tip and turn, and Usopp and Chopper to hug each other tightly in fear. Nami gasped a little. She knew that, although lightning usually didn’t strike the same place twice, it could often strike close together. She was worried that it might be attracted to the boat. Her worries were about to come true.

Alright, that's the first part. Please give me some advice!

I know I went a little crazy with strange details and analagies in the first few paragraphs… but hey? It's something new.

Thanks! I'm glad you think it's good. Nice to see you at my fanfictions again, Local-chan. Hahaha!

And no, Brook is not in it. I'm making it with only confirmed crewmembers at this time.

is good…I like it that you apologized for the details...yeah, one thing I love about One Piece is that they always put plot first. Not many fanfics do that, and you kinda evened that between details nicely. Don't be afraid to twist the plot though; (and this is just my opinion) it would be nice if there was more to this than a simple storm.

                –-------------
                Part Two: Lightning Strikes

“Sanji-kun!” Nami called out the window, fearing the worst from the storm. “Hurry up and come inside before – ”

                Too late.

Lightning struck the surface of the ship, causing an incredibly loud boom sound and damaging the surface severely. The electric current ripped across the deck, causing sparks and flames, which were doused almost instantly by the pouring rain. But that wasn’t the main focus. The worry was that Sanji had been struck by the lightning as well.

Chopper saw the lightning strike out the window.

“Oh no!” He cried. Without hesitation, he rushed outside the safety of the galley to see if Sanji was alright. The others followed quickly, and soon the deck was swarming with pirates. Everyone was talking and shouting at once. It became difficult to understand what was happening and who was talking in the chaos.

                “Sanji! Sanji! Are you okay?”

                “Is he awake?”

                “HEY WAKE UP!”

                “Shh! Stop shouting.”

                “But –”

                “Hey, don’t die!”

“Yeah, Nami’s cooking tastes like dirt!”

“IS THAT ALL YOU CARE ABOUT?”

                “Be quiet!”

                “Huh… wha… yawn… why all the yelling…”

“HAVE YOU BEEN ASLEEP THIS WHOLE TIME?”

Chopper was losing his patience with the whole mess. Everyone was talking He needed these people all to get out of his way so he could make sure Sanji wasn’t hurt too badly. He doubted it, but it was still worth a good look. He was probably burned as well. He just needed to get the message to the crowd…

“HEY!” He grew into his heavy point and shouted as loudly as he could. It worked; everyone turned to face him. “Okay,” he began, much more calmly, “everyone go back to the galley. I’ll check for burns and injuries.”

Now that the excitement seemed to be over, everyone shuffled back just as Chopper had said. Chopper went over to Sanji, who at this point was sitting up and looking slightly dazed.

                “Man… that hurt.”

Chopper giggled a little, relieved that Sanji was acting very much like himself. He knew of stories of people who had lost their memory or been severely altered after being struck by lightning. “Are you feeling okay?”

“Yeah,” to prove his point, Sanji stood up and looked at Chopper.

                “Are you burned?”

                “No.”

                “Are you sure?”

                “Yes.”

                Are you really sure?”

                “Chopper…”

                “Okay, okay…

…Can’t I just have a look to be sure? It’ll only take a minute!”

Sanji sighed, “Sure, if it makes you happy.”

                Chopper grinned widely.

With another sigh, Sanji followed Chopper inside for his checkup.

Hehehe. To be honest, I don't like this part very much, and I know it's kinda short. But it gets better, I promise. I'll post three and four later.

Super-Double-Post Attack! POW! Well, if people would post here, I wouldn't have to do this! Hahaha!

                  IMPORTANT NOTE:
I’m typing this fanfiction somewhere else as well as here, and there I am accepting fancharacters. I am way too lazy to type each part twice and differently, so starting with part three and continuing on for the rest of the story, there will be other people’s fancharacters in my story. I’m just telling you because I don’t like to take credit for other people’s work. I promise it won’t affect my writing or plot in any way.

                  –------------------
Part Three: Clearing Sky and the Strangers in the Rowboat

Chopper walked into the galley where the others were waiting for the storm to clear. They were all acting normal; in fact, many of them were doing what they had been doing before the storm hit. Zoro was napping (again), Robin was reading, and Nami was working on her maps, but Franky, Luffy and Usopp were now playing cards. Nami looked up when Chopper walked in.

                  “Is everything okay?” She asked.

                  “Yes, fine,” Chopper replied.

“That’s good,” she looked relieved. Her eyes left Chopper and moved to the window to see the weather clearing up very quickly, “it looks like that was just a cloud burst, and not a dangerous storm after all.”

Usopp looked up as well, “Yeah, that’s a relief. But… I wasn’t scared of that storm at all!” Usopp stood up proudly atop the card table and thrust his fist into the air.

“Wow!” Chopper looked amazed, “not even when the lightning struck?”

“Nope! The brave Captain Usopp is never scared! Why, I remember once there was a storm so severe that the whole sky was black in the daytime, and there was hail the size of people, and lightning was hitting everywhere, and the raindrops sounded like giant footsteps they were so loud! And there were monsters! But I said to –
                  AAAAAAAH!”

He was cut off by his own shriek when Zoro, now awake, grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him. Usopp whipped around to face him, breathing hard. He was barely aware that everyone in the galley was laughing at him.

“Why did you do that? Are you trying to kill me?”

“No. You’re just so noisy!” Zoro glared at him. Usopp backed down.

“Okay, okay. Just don’t hurt me.”

“Hey,” Luffy began looking around the room, “what happened to Sanji?”

“He’s in front of the mirror trying to stop his hair from sticking out in all directions,” Chopper answered, attempting to restrain a giggle at the memory.

“Oh. Can we go find him? I’m hungry.”

“You’re hungry a lot,” Franky noticed, looking up from his arm.

“Yeah, get used to it,” Zoro mumbled.

Nami looked out the window again, “The weather’s sunny again. Let’s move back outside.”

“Yosh! MEAT!” Luffy was the first to march out of the galley.

“How does he associate ‘outside’ with ‘meat’?” Franky shook his head.

“I don’t think it’s possible to understand Captain-san at all,” Robin replied, closing her book on her finger and following Luffy out.

Nami was right when she said that the weather was clearing fast. Already there was hardly a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was climbing rapidly. The sun burned brightly, quickly drying off the wet ship and pirates. The crew began to settle into position, again continuing the actions that had been interrupted twice that day already. They were about to be again.

“Hmm?” Zoro was in the process of dragging his weights outside, when he noticed something out on the water.

“What is it?” Robin inquired. She saw the direction he was looking and followed his gaze until she saw what had made him pause. One by one, the Straw-Hats looked out to sea. What they saw was a small, wooden rowboat slowly moving in their direction. As it came closer, they saw three people inside. When it got even closer, they saw it was three girls who were very wet. They had also apparently been caught in the storm.

“Oi!” Usopp called down, “who are you?”

One of the girls, with red-streaked blonde hair and a black bandana, responded for them.

“My name’s Ashley! This is Haley,” she motioned to a girl with a pink shirt and red hair, “and this is Jin,” pointing to the other resident of the rowboat with purple hair and blue eyes.

“Hey” Luffy called down, “You three look strong! You wanna join my pirate crew?”

“STOP ASKING RANDOM PEOPLE THAT, BAKA-LUFFY!” The crew shouted in unison.

Haley, Ashley and Jin looked questioningly at eachother, wondering what to make of this crazy ship.

Yay for triple post! I must be really bad at this! Hahahaha! Oh, well. Here's the next part for anyone who cares.

                    –----------------
                    Part Four: Hot, Hot Sun

Robin Stepped forward, “Jin, Ashley, Haley, why are you girls in the middle of the Grand Line in a rowboat?”

Haley answered first; “Well, it’s a funny story…” she began.

“What’s funny about it?” Ashley asked, “We had a ship, it got destroyed by lightning, and now we’re in the middle of the Grand Line with an emergency boat.”

“Well… yeah, that about sums it up,” Haley answered sheepishly.

Jin chuckled. “I guess so. So, anyway, who are you guys?” She was taking careful notice of the guy in the green sash that caught her eye.

Luffy answered proudly, “I’m Luffy, and I’m going to be the Pirate King. This is my pirate crew,” he motioned to the five people, the cyborg, and the reindeer standing on the deck, “and we’re going to find One Piece.”

Sanji (who had since come out of the mens’ quarters; his hair as controlled as he could get it) happily pranced (yes, pranced) up to the three girls with hearts in his eyes, “It’s such an honor to meet such lovely girls as yourselves in a place such as this. Might–” He was cut off when Nami pushed him backwards. He stumbled and quieted down, though he was still heart-eyed. She sighed.

“Um…” Chopper said nervously, “well… what I mean, uh, what are you… you going to… um…” he was looking at the ground.

Haley squatted down in front of Chopper, making him jump and stumble backwards a little. “Aww, he’s so cute!” she said, giggling, “who are you?”

“My name’s Chopper. And don’t call me cute! Stupid human, I don’t need your compliments, stupid human, stupid human!” Chopper was smiling and doing his little happy dance.

Usopp walked over to them, “I think that Chopper was going to ask about how you three are going to get around. You can’t get far here with a rowboat.”

“Maybe they could stay with us until we find land,” Robin suggested, “What do you think Navigator-san… Navigator-san?”

Nami was staring up at the sky and mumbling quietly. Usopp looked over at her, “Hey Nami! Is something wrong?” Nami snapped back to attention,

Huh? No, I’m just thinking… this weather, it’s very curious. The temperature’s already climbing higher and higher. It just went from a cold storm to cloudless and very hot. It isn’t natural. Even for the Grand Line. Strange things happen when weather makes sudden changes such as this. If it keeps up, who knows what will happen?

“Well, we’ll worry about that later!” Luffy said with a big grin, “but what about Haley, Ashley, and Jin?”

“I think they should just come on the Sunny until we come to another island where they can get a ship.” Usopp chipped in.

“Yeah, I guess that’s a good idea,” Nami said, still distracted.

“Yosh! Then it’s decided!” Luffy shouted. Sanji looked as if he were about to say something, but he was cut off by Robin.

“Franky,” she said, “Since you built this ship, maybe it would be appropriate if you gave these three a tour?”

Franky struck a pose, “Supaa!” He shouted. “Follow me.” The four of them went inside with Franky leading the way.

Chopper looked at the sky, “It is getting really warm outside. Nami, should we worry?”

“Maybe,” she replied uneasily, “Hmm, I don’t like this at all.”

The sky was bright blue, and there was no sign of a cloud. The sun looked larger that in was supposed to be. There was no sign of the storm and lightning that had torn through the sky just a few minutes before. Even though the sky was clear and bright, it seemed a little… suspicious. Even ominous. And Nami didn’t like it one bit.

“Hey,” Usopp said, shaking her from her thoughts, “do you think it’s a good idea to take three women that we barely know onto the ship just like that? I mean, what if they’re Marines? Or pirates for another crew? Or government spies?” Usopp was beginning to panic.

“Calm down, Marksman-san,” Robin said coolly, “Now’s not the time to panic. I’m sure everything’s fine.”

“Well, then… what about the weather?”

“I’m not so sure,” They both looked up at they sky, knowing that something was not right, not right at all.
