On the E3 Nintendo website, it shows the next version of Mario Kart, Mario Kart Wii, available in early 2008. The game will require a new Wii accessorie named the Wii Wheel (or the Wiil as I would call it) that it used to steer the kart. The site is here: http://e3.nintendo.com/wii_mariokart.html

Actually, it doesn
t need the damn wheel, you insert the damn Wiimote into the damn thing, dammit. I
m pretty sure there was another racing game that used the same thing, except it was a 3rd party thing. -
Wario's cart looks totally savage.
It'd be even better if he had his Wario Chopper.
-
That western style level looks awesome. looks like a wooden rollercoaster.
This is gonna be great. -
How are we suppose to use the Wheel? Will turning it actually effect the gameplay?

That's the idea. And the trigger on the back of the wheel will be used to skid.
-
I seriously hope they give us other methods to play this game, the wheel really sucks as I have tried it with GT PRO Series.

You have the new Wii wheel and GT PRO for the Wii!?
But yeah, you haven't even play it yet. And on top of that, they likely will be having classic controls as well.

I HAD GT PRO which came with a wheel which was the same thing as the wheel they showed at E3.
It was a FREE game when you preordered the Wii from a certain store.
-
Seeing as how the Wii Wheel hasn't even been released yet, it's not the same thing.
-
I didn't particularly like driving in Excite truck. I was always running off the road and crashing. >_> But I won in points for making so many turns.
I hope they let us use the GCN controller.

There is nothing wrong with the controls for Excite Truck. You must not be that good thats all. >_> I highly doubt they will let us use the GCN controller's. The GT PRO steering wheel is garbage, but Im sure this one being made by Nintendo seems really good, so here's hoping.

I hope so too. I tried the wheel controls for Cruisin USA and World Acrade ed. and I ended up swerving all over the place

This game is going to own on to many levels. Buying it first day and playing online.

We'll definitely need to race each other. Wario vs. <insert myoga's="" driver="">!</insert>
-
Heh! I usually go with the classic Wario, but if not then I'll be in Luigi's cart or Donkey Kong's. Probably Mr. L, the Green Thunder.
-
so the carts are back to being single drivers this time?
And I really like the double system on the GCN version

Always been a huge Wario fan, personally. Play with him in every party game.
And yeah, there's only one driver in this one.
-
Eh, the double system was cool but it didn't feel right. As long as this version is as good as I've heard Mario Kart DS is, then I think we're gonna be playing this one for years.
@Gohn - Sweet man! We'll have to go head to head when it comes out.
-
Hey, if we can both play Wario online, that'd be great.
The double driver system was alright, but it was just a theme for that version. Wasn't really a fan of Mario Kart DS. The driving definitely felt different than the driving in the other games.

The only thing I'm missing with the Wii that Microsoft really hit the nail on the head with is online chat. Smash Bros. and Mario Kart would be sick with online chat. Trash talk would be so easy!
-
Yeah, trash talk is essential.
Unless it's Halo Online. The people on there total dumbfucks. "wtf u r a gay fag that move was so gay i shoulda won you fucking cheater fag why dont u just be gay"
-
Hahaha! Oh so true!! Mario Kart Wii would go more like, "How'd that turtle shell taste, sucka!?"
-
"OH SHIT WHOS PASSING YOU THATS RIGHT IS WAAAAAAARIO"
It'd be so great if Wario's special item was a giant cloud of flatulence that he sprays behind himself to blind other drivers.
-
Hahaha! That would be amazing. I think I would cry in laughter if I saw such a thing.

Reminds me of that Bus in the Vigilante game.
-
So apparently, they implemented motorcycles this time around. And some kinda trick mode?
-
I think I can do without voice chat, it's just so annoying…
-
Voice chat doesn't seem like a bad idea for the Wii's case. I mean, Nintendo Wi-Fi is already set up so that its extremely selective about who you play with, save the "play with anyone" modes. I'd be cool if you could have the voice chat option with people in your friends roster and just leave it off for a "play with anyone" mode…sorta like Jump Ultimate Stars.
I guess were gonna have to set up an Arlong Park Mario Kart Wii tournament sometime in the future

Looks cool, I like the Mario Kart series.
