Vol. 47 Discussion Thread (Cover is Up + SBS Break Down by Greg + UGP by e1n)

As for the arc has reached 20 chapters and the release of vol. 46, I guess it's time to speculate what will come in the next volume.

My prediction that the volume will go until chapter 460, which has a good cliffhanger, and the title will be "General Zombie Night". In the cover I guess it will feature mainly Moria, Tallaran, probably Ryuma and Jigoroh, and Luffy wearing an armor. Maybe Perona, Absalom and Hogback will show up too, but not sure.

Title Prediction: Either "Being Dead Isn't an Apology" (if it goes that far) or "Cloudy with Occasional Bones".

Cover: In the middle, perhaps even rising up past the main art box if needed, we see a massive tower of the three "giants" of the volume: Gecko Moria in the middle laughing in glee, Tallaran below him, and the massive Odz surrounding him and perhaps everyone else. At four corners surrounding them (either surrounding Tallaran or surrounding the middle section), we see the main supporters of Moria: Absalom and Perona in the front, Hogbak and Cindry in back. Luffy…wish I knew where he would, but Odz is close enough since he has his shadow.

I just had a really cool idea. Similar to the Alabasta cover with Baroque works and SH. How about Ryuuma, Oz, Dogpen and Jigoro facing Brook, Luffy, Sanji and Zoro, like a shadow face off.

Color is white-black-blue-purple [somewhere around there].
Of course Moria. And Absalom and Perona. I don't want a crowd this time though, it needs a focus.

Might be cool to have Laboon somewhere, but that;d be waaay too spoilerific. But, given the volume cover of vol 45, it's not wholly out of the question.

It's a bit ahead, but Volume 48 will be the steriotypical cover for these smaller joining arcs, where Luffy and the enemy crew's top player are picured.
Then 49 will have All of the crew being happy.
Therefore, 47 will have some other pic.
Hopefully Brook clashing with Ryuma.
And Luffy in the backround.

Please explain why you're saying this to me instead of the first half of this thread.

First off, if the rest of the characters shown on Volume 47 are shown in colorful displays or even just the color around the picture, it shouldn't matter whether Luffy's armor is gray.

Though … if Luffy's on the cover, and not in his armor, then the second best way to show him is, indeed, when he's fainted after his shadow was taken.

Wouldn't it be more likely to see the former four on the covers of the volyumes in which they fight?

I.e., volume 48 has Perona and Absalom, while 49 has (possibly) Hogback and Cindry.

No no, It's just like every other joining arc.
The second to last volume which has the Crew fights Has Luffy and all of the enemy crew. Then the one which has mostly Luffy's fight has the happy Straw hat crew on the cover.
So far, most of the fights have been settled, and we still have a few chapters to go in this volume. I think that the Hogback fight will be settled in 2 chapters in this volume just like thew others.

I just don't find the idea of armor suit Luffy on a cover to be that interesting.

I'm really, really looking forward to seeing the color schemes for the new characters, so Luffy in armor is thw last guy on my list of characters I want to see on the cover.

Because it's much easier to find this way. Shueisha upload the image at some random time, on some random day towards the end of the month. I myself might not be around for hours after it is uploaded to post it.

This way once it's been uploaded any forum member can alert us immediately (via my post) that the new cover is up and we can then all bask in its glory.
