i have some questions did the anime finish or is it still going if finished how many episodes and whats the story about. (the first question is the most imprtant)

The anime was officially over 3 years ago, there were lots of rumors spreading that a new season would emerge, but nothing has happened so far.
There are 49 episodes in total.
As for story, here it is.
Ban Mido and Ginji Amano, is known as the "GetBackers" who's motto is "If it's stolen, we can steal it back!". And the GetBackers success rate is always 100%.Always waiting around the Honky Tonk, clients call in to ask the GetBackers to retrieve something for them. And so, Ban and Ginji goes through many weird and bizarre cases as they set forth to "get back" the belongings.

One of my favourite anime. ADV Films released up to volume 5 now I guess, with volume 6 and the second 'box set' on the way. That's up to episode 30 out now. Additional info for you to chew on.
I'm still kind of disappointed that the DVD was editted, although I haven't really bought anime DVDs before where I've seen the original compared to the English version. That, and when I got the box with it, the darned $10.00 box, I was taking the tape off of it or something with scissors and they accidentally went and scratched the box. >_< I was not impressed.
