I voted Metallica cuz I love Metallica. Men at Work rules though.
-
I like mettalica and men at work too but I like the police too they're one of the best
-
What about AC/DC :( Come on, they must be up there
-
ahh crap i forgot ac dc
-
Too hard to choose….
I need to point out a couple of things:
a ) Genesis isn't an 80's band. They've been around since like, 1970.
b ) You forgot Duran Duran and Tears For Fears :P -
Milli Vanilli…
-
out of the choices, it was a hard pick between Supertramp and U2 for me, but eventually, I went with Supertramp.
-
U2 definately has the most longevity and continued relativity out of all of them.
-
Metallica of course
edit : hey hey,in the Poll ,you spelled Metallica into Mettalica .."it is wrong spelling!!"
-
FALCO >:O
-
Metallica and Def Lappard for me….allthough I don't know why you left out Skid Row, Motorhead, and Anthrax. They kicked the rest of the lists asses.
-
Metallica. Master of puppets is my favorite song ever! i just can't stop playing it on my guitar.
-
Guns n Roses dammit!
-
where are all the hairbands? the world needs its mötley crüe, poison, bon jovi, guns'n'roses! they are what made the 80's.

you could play the whole song?how long you've played guitar, you can play the solo of master of puppets??????
im in a half way of the song .. i can do 6 secs of the quick part solo i think…
-
ahh Bon jovi of course they were the best band then and they still are :D
-
Nah, Gun N' Roses Rock totally.
November Rain beats all B) -
like hell it does :P
listen to "this aint a love song" "living on a prayer" or "bed of roses" those three are the greatest songs in the world and they are all made by bon jovi.
-
INXS or Crowded House.
-
I went with Oingo Boingo, because I love the heck out of them, and Danny Elfman. They were like a really bitter version of Talking Heads, who's irony and wit were far more subtle.
Your list really needed Duran Duran on it though ^_^;
-
and i almost forgot about another 80`s band that deserves a mentioning since they were so great :D
SKIDROW
-
The Police all the way. I've got a live album that I still listen too a lot. I've never been a big fan of Sting though…. And I agree with Konis. This list is seriously lacking on the Duran Duran front.
-
Bon Jovi all the way!! So I guess I'll have to vote "other".^^
-
I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned:
The Cars
The Clash (if U2 counts as an eighties band, then do does The Clash)
The CureAnd nobody mentioned REM?
-
None of em, though Metallica SURE need to get bonus for their 4 EXCELLENT records before the 90's awful Black Album and then.
How could you forget Iron Maiden, Annihilator, Ozzy(though I hate him), Watchtower(they're underground but if you seek quality and real progressive music in the 80's you're here), and MOST OF ALL: SLAYER. These are the best bands in the 80's for me in a more mainstream kinda field, or else we'll have to mention Attila Czishar and Tormentor and blah blah blah.
Also, when I hear the term "80's" the first thing besides these bands that come to my mind is Motley Crew and the other scarlet happy queer bands, as Riksu said  -
And nobody mentioned REM?
Yeah, they definately deserve to be mentioned. Like U2, they've endured, sometims I forget they've been around that long.
