I don't understand why so many people hate Asuka. She's one of the best anime characters of all time. Just cause she dies on the End of Evangelion doesn't make her bad. Rei is good and all, but Asuka's better.

Asuka's not all that bad. She's a decently developed character, she's just not all that likeable either. I think that's the main problem.
…she needs to be more like Gendou. EVERYONE needs to be more like Gendou.

Well, I don't know about other people but for me I like Asuka. Though she may be not be my most favourite female character but she is definitely my favourite in Evangelion.
She has a unique & spunky personalityshe makes a perfect couple with Shinji :P

Er… who is Asuka? I she the red head from NGE? I think I liked her, I guess. I really never hate a character anyway.

I'll tell you exactly why people hate Asuka…because she's an arrogant smart ass. She has to be the most smart ass charachter in anime to date. Other than that she's a decent charchter but that kinda draws me away from liking her.

i really like asuka because her past is sad. and we sometimes see that in fact she's a good girl.
sure she fits well with shinji, he needs a girl like her.
but i can't tell who's more gorgeous, asuka or rei?
