Ok, here is the deal:

In flash animation class at school. Had a final animation worth the majority of the class, but forgot to save it to my folder and some jackass deleted it.

If I fail the class, I don't graduate.

So I was wondering if someone had a flash project that I could use for the grade. I won't be posting it on the web to enlarge my e-penis or anything, just turning it in so I can get on with my life.

Nothing really good tho. My initial one was ass so if I magically turn in this excellent one, it looks bad.

I beg you guys, if anyone can help me out, they will have my eternal e-gratitude.

Have you tried explaining your situation to your teacher? Also, I'm certain the person in charge of computers at your school could recover the file. Really, try harder to get it back next time before coming here.

Let me get this straight: You deleted your project, and now you're asking for another person's project so you can claim their work as your own. Just so you know, that's plagiarism, and plagiarism is illegal. Even if you get someone else's permission to use their project, it's still illegal, because I'm pretty sure you're not going to give that person credit.

ok, a flash animation isn't a half hour little project that you can bullshit. you didn't save any back up copies for this?! Man, when it came to my homework, I had 4-5 different copies. all at different progressions. (incase I didn't like what I did later on) geez I'd shit my pants if I lost something big like that.

I didn't delete it, I just didn't save it to my personal folder, just left in on the desktop, and now it has been deleted from the recycle bin and everything. Not sure how to recover if after that. but I'll ask.

Maybe report the jackass? Despite that he could be your friend. Or if he's your foe, why won't you report him?

So, you've explained to your teacher that your project got deleted? Don't you think she'd be a bit suspicious if you came to class with a project after what you told her?

It may be just a class to you, but wouldn't you feel the least bit guilty using someone else's work, something that you didn't do? And you're willing to do something illegal to save your own skin. Wow…

so you told your teacher it is gone, and then you want to show up with a flash animation the day after. is she gonna buy that?

And it's not just a class. I despise working hard on my own to get where I am, just to have someone say, oh, it's just a mark on a piece of paper, It doesn't matter if I cheat. I had a classmate in college who cheated all the time. None of us wanted anything to do with her. though we all regret not doing something about her sooner, cause when graduation/awards cerimonies came around, she won 2 awards, and a bunch of money for doing shit all.

so, ya, take a look at your classmates, they may be giving you the evil eye.

Just a suggestion, but, instead of going on forums asking for other people's work, why aren't you using this time to work your ass off on a replacement project?

If it's an automatic fail if incomplete, any project is better than none at all.

And, I think your computer system admin could recover your orginal, I'm pretty sure the admin at my school did for a few kids I know.

Even if its consensual? (which it would have been in this case)

I personally don't think either are that big of crimes. but if I had to pick one, it's downloading manga since that takes away from sales. I don't really think a major publishing company gives THAT big of a damn that some high school student didn't credit them for a meaningless paper.

and forget about it, I'll just face the music. I'll put a BG and music to my sucky shunpo animation and see what that gets me.

I know you probably gave up on the idea by now, but this is for future reference, just in case you face a similar kind of dilemma. It's not about your personal moral views, but more to do with the implications of the conduct itself.

Plagiarism is basically fraud, the way schools and unis see it. You will get an instant FAIL, if not an expulsion, and it will stay on your report forever. That means other schools most likely will not accept you, and that may have grave consequences on your future employment.

The reason why schools take plagiarism so seriously is because it shows that you cheated them just to get a pass. No one will look at you kindly for that. If plagiarism is consensual, it's still plagiarism, but they will refer to it as a collaboration. And they will still treat it the same way as plagiarism, so it makes no difference whatsoever.

So please, whenever you have an idea for plagiarism in the future, I suggest you find a nice brick and beat yourself over the head repeatedly until the thought goes away. It's all for the best. You WILL NOT get away with it, as the academic police in my uni tells me every single fucking time there's an assignment, no matter how little and insignificant it seems.

I'm sure that in this case, your teacher will be more lenient when it comes to marking your roughly-done work. The fact that you've explained it, and that you've tried to do something to replace the work, should really be a great help to you. Best of luck!

If that were true, they most likely wouldn't have to worry about anyone doing it for the most part.

i heard cheating has become a big problem, and more needs to be done about it. these people go off to univercity and college, and continue to do it. people have to pay to go to school, and work hard, and there are others who are getting all the benifits cause they cheat their way through. In the end, they arn't learning what they are suposed to. That is the purpose of going to school TO LEARN. if you are not learning, you are wasting your own money. Do you really want a Dr, who cheated his way through school to operate on you? Or a Mechanic who only pretends to know how your car works.

And of coarse, if they don't think cheating on a test or assignment is wrong, maybe they don't think cheating you out of your money is wrong.
