I like alot of the charecters for differant reasons. FF VI is the best one because it is the only one with alot of cool charecters. I guess III and IX have some ok charecters though.
My overall favorite is Kefka. He just plain rocks, and has the most awesome theme music ever. And his laugh. My god, the laugh.
I like Shadow just for the fact that he is a mysterious charecter that you are able to learn about in a cool way. I mean, I was blown away when I went to an inn in the World of Ruin and just saw some scene about two people, and then eventually saw more and realized it was about him. That was so rad.
Umaro is just…Yetiz R cool.
Celes is very, very well developed charecter, and I got pretty attached to her. (not in that way for any sickos out there)
And then Sabin was just about the best charecter in the game times 10. And he was cool too. But I just about never took him out of my party because he was so damn good.

I vote for Kefka. Goddamn, what an awesome villian he was. The look, the way he treats his subordinates ("AHEM! There's sand on my boots!"), his infamous lines like "SON OF A SUBMARINER!", and the laugh, THE LAUGH!
I love that guy and the One Piece villian that was most likely inspired by Kefka, Spandam.

i love kefka's laugh. That is the kind of sound that brings me back to my childhood cause of the sheer snesiness of it. However, Ninja owns all !

My favorite is Locke, who's my favorite videogame character ever, along with Link. Kefka comes second, whose my favorite villian in a videogame, along with Ganandorf.

I really liked Sabin, though during my first playthrough, I didn't care for him all that much. Then, he started to grow on me and now I luff him. Honorable mentions to Terra, Mog, Cyan, and Cid (I felt kind of silly crying at a SNES game during the scene with him and Celes, but GAWD it was sad). I agree that Celes is very well-developed, but something just didn't rub me right about her. I didn't dislike her, but she's not close to being a fave.
I also really liked the boss Nerapa. He was so awesomely designed.

I really liked General Leo and always thought it was a shame that you couldn't get him to join the team.
But my favorite character was probably Shadow, with Celes being a close second, in no small part thanks to how ridiculously strong you can make her late in the game.

I was kind of upset that I could never find shadows last dream
he was the bestwhat made VI so incredible was that all the characters were extremely well developed and you wanted to play as them all
Mog, Sabin ( Mash ), Edgar, Celes, Locke, Terra ( Tina ), Shadow ( Clyde ), Strago, Relm, Umaro, Gogo ( Darryl heh heh ), Kefka, Leo, Gau, and Setzer…It's hard to just pick one character, my favorite team to use was Sabin ( Mash ), Shadow, Gogo and Setzer or Mog
FFVI is honestly the one that put it on the MAP in America...it was the first FF with a commercial on television, it was one of the first to have it's soundtrack published in America. It was just an awesome game all over

Kefka. There were a ton of great characters in FFVI, but he had to be one of the coolest villians in any Final Fantasy game. Oh, and yes, the laugh. Best ever.
My other favourite had to be Shadow or Locke. Just great characters.
I never played the remake, so I'm going with the SNES version.

heh heh the remake is the snes version and all they did was add cutscenes you unlock when you beat the game and the cutscenes are nothing more then rememberable scenes in the game in fmv thats all and they were like trailers really
they also added enemyencyclopedias, and lists for magic and lores and espers and what have you otherwise its the same game
