Looks like the newest Gundam series is coming on October this Fall. It looks better than Seed and Seed Destiny in Character design wise IMO. Hope this upcoming series will live yup to my standars.

I think Gundam should have ended with Turn A Gundam from 1999-2000. It was a good series, and would have been a great end for Gundam (Turn A and G Gundam are my favorites).
Maybe we'll be lucky and this'll turn into a super robot anime. :D

You kidding, everyimte I look at damn scans of Japanese magazines, all spreads and posters are male characters from GSD trying to look bishie or hot. Pretty much, GSD almost seemed like a Bishounen Cash Cow for all teh fangirls.

Back in the day, Gundam was not about bishonen and fanservice: it was about the nature of war, warts and all. The original series had heroes and villains of all ages and varieties and such could probably be said from everything through G…its probably about Wing where the bishonen factor kicks in and it goes overtime with SEED, Destiny and this 00 series. (having not seen too much outside early UC, AC, FC and a couple episodes of CE is how I'm saying this). Heck, from what I hear...
! SEED starts getting retarded when the main character gets a super-powerful weapon…that he uses to stop people from killing each other! (in spoilers cause I haven't seen it and in case there are others like me)

God I remember those good ol days days. Now these guys and others before Seed are what I call worthy Gundam badasses, especially ones mostly from the older Gundam series.

The only Gundam series ever made that could rival GaoGaiGar was G Gundam, a super robot anime.

Most of what I've seen is what the US has released…but I've heard amazing things about Turn A yet I can't bring myself to get it due to the "means" I would have to go through.
Similarly, the bishonen and modern anime factors is what's stopping me from being too interested in something like Code GEASS, which I heard isn't too bad...though Gurren Lagann may be more up my ally.

Not sure where else to post this (don't know if there is a general Gundam topic or whatever):
I'm a fan of the Samurai Warriors games (although I still haven't played any Dynasty Warriors) so I'm interested in the Gundam Musou game. I know it will just be more of the same, but nothing wrong with that as long as it's fun. Here's Master Asia with Master Gundam:
Loran with Turn A is in it too, so that's good. I always liked the mustached Gundam.
Hope that if Koei makes a sequal or expansion (and they usually do) it will have some more of my favorites.
