Here's a long one:

The World Government is in fact run by AI taking the form of old men, and they are controlling the world and all its actions. It is supposed to carried out the will of Gol D. Roger and was in fact founded by Rayleigh, Shank, Dragon, Dr. Vegapunk, Sengoku, and Garp. However, the latter three grew power hungry and Rayleigh, Shank, and Dragon were not pleased with the direction they are taking the world government in, especially Dragon.

However, Dragon was a role model for the WG, and Sengoku feared that without him, the WG's reputation will not stand, so while Dragon was in a coma, he ordered for Dr. Vegapunk to take Dragon's cells and create three clones of him, and these were called sons of Dragon–Luffy, Ace, and Blackbeard.

This proved to be the last straw between Dragon and Sengoku, and Dragon left to form the revolution army to take down the WG. Now that Dragon has left, Sengoku lost all faith in people and refused to hand the seat of the WG to later generations, so he created the AIs and allowed them to rule the WG for him. But the AI suddenly underwent mutation and started to do things that even Sengoku himself probably didn't foresaw.

Don't forget to mention that devil fruits are made of nanomachines which increase your physical performance and are directly connected to the AI which is called Sons of the WorldGovernment. Luffy's DF has an artificial virus which causes him to never age.

Roger got a devil fruit in the last year of his known life that allowed him to control the health of his body. The health-health fruit. When they chopped off his head he smiled because it was a joke to him since he was going to use his fruit to decompose part of his neck so it doesn't really get cut off, just disconnects. Afterwards when they bury him he recomposes his neck to his body so he is alive.

Conveniently the fruit healed his sickness since he could control it. And he still is in good health today chilling at Raftel with some babes.

Ironically enough, since Roger smiled at his 'death' because it was a joke, this makes Luffy the most ridiculously psychotic people in the One Piece world for when he smiled at his near death.
