Well I think the observant ones (Nami, Robin, Usopp, Law) would recognize him even without he glasses by the distinctive goatee … but the other guys (Luffy, Brook, even Franky & Chopper) would look at him and not recognize him. Heck I can picture those guys doing that dismissive wave of the hand and say "No way!, Vergo wears glasses, he doesn't, so its not him".

No, Robin and Sanij would be the only ones to recognize him, as of the 4 SH to actually see his face (Luffy Franky Robin and Sanji) they either actually pay attention (Robin) or fought him for a while (Sanji). Chopper only got a view of his back I think.

Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Brook never saw him once in PH IIRC.

At the end of the war with 20 kingdoms when there wasn't any hope left, the elite of AK (which descendants will be later recognized as D.) deicided that only thing they can do is give people from future a chance to defeat the newformed WG. Hence why we can see Poneglyphs and Ancient Weapons now. The name was derived from the name of its creator - Binks and fact that when it will finally see the light and WG will be overthrown, the world will be in great joy - like after drinking sake.

Roger reached Raftel, he had already seen several Poneglyphs, and "heard" their messages. So, he needed to write down everything, but was short on paper. In the end, he just cut all of the skin off of Buggy's back and wrote the information down there- the one piece of Buggy that we never, ever see is his back. And now you know why.

I'm "convinced" a former boss character is to be their partner, prior to the new world… Which means, a limited number of so and so's could fit that role.

Granted the validity of the quote, she's one of the few to accept that role.

I'm more so convinced that there will be "two" more Strawhats to come, disappointed a little that it won't be characters that "share" the similar time frame of the journey, like the current cast, but that's nothing.

Given that the "chances" a female character will join seem half and half, I'd think it's more likely a lady would be it.

Considering that Perona has enough space to write anything about, and a solid character build that lets Oda use her enough to establish such events... She's the most flexible in terms of "strawhat-esque" story development.

Aside from all the other characters in the manga, she's the ONLY character that stands a chance, up to this point, concerning a revealed character. Jinbei honestly isn't likely to join-- he's not likely at all.
