My Top 10 Best Video Game Boss Fights Of All Time!!

This is only my opinion on what I believe were the best boss fights I have ever been in in my video game time! If you would like to you can post your top ten or just your favorite, or you could flame me for my choices lol! I based my top ten from alright to BEST!

10. 50 Man Fight Shenmue for Dreamcast
You know that your going to have a final showdown with the man who killed your father…you're all pumped up for the fight...then you end up fighting 50 generic thugs instead.=( Though this is a BIG bummer to me it was one of the most fun part of the whole game! Taking my frustration out on those 50 faggots was a big stress realeser and it just felt good kicking major arse!

9. Psyco Mantis Metal Gear Solid for Playstaion
Ok when I first saw this dude appear out of nowhere I was like DAM! thats badass!!! Then he hypnotized my lady and I knew that this was gonna be a SWEET! boss battle! Then he starts naming games that I liked playing...telling me You sure do like tekken, and MegaMan is a fun game..then I was creeped out...then my screen went black and I thought my Playstation fried. LOL I stoped playing for a couple days because of this and I bought a new Playstation played again and It went black again and I almost cried LOL then it went on again and I found out that it was part of the boss fight and ever since then I said only a good game can get you so mad lol.

8. Sonic Adventure Dreamcast
Ok the situation is this! The city is in ruins....Chaos is at his final form..and the chaos emeralds have died and lost there color. Then Sonic picks up the chaos emeralds and he transforms into the most bad ass thing ever SUPER SONIC!!! I don't care what anyone says..running super fast on top of water at speeds up to mach 10 and chasing down that Chaos and beating his ass was the best moments in sonic history!

7. Seymore first boss fight Final Fantasy 10 Playstation 2
When I first saw this guy in luca I hated him and his cocky attitude. When I saw him propose to Yuna I wanted to kick his arse. When I found out he murdered his father I wanted to kick his arse. But what hit the final straw was when he called me and my party of guardians worthless pieces of trash and thats when I said..this guy has to die. This first fight against Seymore to me was the best out of all 4 fights you fight him in this game! From the beginning of spells and melees to the final summoning of Anima I loved every minute of Beating this dudes arse!

6. Trevelon Golden Eye 007 N64
Last level! It all led to this and you knew this was going to be it! You versus Trevelon 007 vs 006...and whats the first thing this sissy does..he runs...RUNS RUNS RUNS!!! Ok he was a sissy but everyone who played this game loved the final level of chasing down Trevelon in a final bought! He was invincible through the whole level I've heard rumors of people killing him before the end.. But the final bought when he jumps down the whole you SHOOT HIS ASS! and he falls down from the sky...it made me cry tears of joy =)..I didn't like the retard ending of Bond forever kissing the retard lady in the end though...

5. Mike Tyson Punchout! NES
You faced tough boxers all the way to this point! You've mastered the little boxer known as little Mac, and you have been ready to face this man since the beginning of this game! Then you start boxing him and one punch knocks you out....I hated this boss and until this day have still yet to beat him...I memorize the code to get to him too after so many years and I have never beat him DAMMIT! One day I will..one day ='(

4. Devil Tekken 2 Playstaion
I LOVED TEKKEN 2! It was the main game I always played with my friends and I always win! Even if it was a button masher =P but I loved the final boss battle against Devil! The freaky music that played when you battled him to his evil laugh he would make when he would kill you..no other tekken game can compete with tekken 2s final boss it was the best in the series!

3. Mewtwo Pokemon Blue and Red GameBoy
I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS! ANYONE WHO HAD A GAMEBOY HAD POKEMON! ANYONE WHO HAD POKEMON PLAYED THAT GAME TO DEATH AND BEAT IT! AND AFTER EVERYONE BEAT IT THEY WENT BACK TO CERULEAN CITY!..ok calm down..basically back in the REAL pokemon age when it was REALLY popular everyone wanted two pokemon in there roster..mew and mewtwo...and after you beat the elite 4 you could go and try to obtain mewtwo in the cavern above cerulean city! It was one of the most epic pokemon battles I've ever done...and I didn't have a master ball used it on snorlox I'm a dummy and I loved every moment of it!

2. Sephiroth Final Fantasy 7 Playstation
This is the only boss ever in my video game history where I just wanted to kill him swim in his blood and eat his stomach fear factor style! At the beginning of the game I idolized him...later in the game I pityed him...but when he killed Aeris....omg when he killed Aeris..tear drop I wanted him dead...I wanted to chop his head off and omg lol this was one of the best boss battles ever! Even leading to the final oen on one against Cloud and Sephiroth that was so epic that It brought many tears to my eyes when it was over =(...

Ganon final form Zelda Ocarina of Time
Ok Ok everything about this boss battle was epic...You have to agree with me! When I first arrived at that castle I was ready to kick ass! I went through all the crap to finally get to the red carpet that led to the grand stairs! The music grew louder as I went up the stairs and I was PUMPED to finally settle the score with Ganondorf! Then the fight started and...I said man...this fight SUCKED!!! I hated the fight and when I saw him drop and he died...I was dissapointed...I wanted better of him....I thought the game was over and I had a sour taste in my mouth...but then the castle started falling apart...so I said dam no more...I was dissapointed so I hurried and led Zelda out before time ran out and I said yes...this dissapointing game is finally over...then the happy gay music stopped.......and my dreams came true! When I saw Ganondorf Pop out of the rubble and Transform into his pig form and he knocked my sword out of my hand..thats when I said..THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER! THIS IS THE BEST BOSS BATTLE EVER!!! I was scared...I used my enviroments..I was happy!!!!

8.Sin from FF 10- the fins and tails weren;t so bad to fight.. it was the face and a time limit that made him one of good bosses that required Skill,and quick reflexes.

7.Giant Ape skeleton from Castlevania 64- Wierd boss that was at times difficult to defeat.

6.Last boss(Andross?) from Star Fox Assault- the game was ridiculously easy until the end boss.Took me 9 times to be able to defeat him

5.Plauge/odin from FFIV advance- Optional bosses though you had to defeat them in 60 seconds or less.

4.King Zinger from DKC 2.- worst boss to fight. the bee bothered me when it had the mini zinger barrier on it.

3.Barros from DKC 3-same thing only I always lost when the boss did the homing conches in the second stage.

2.Odola from majora mask- The boss I thought was easy at 1st,then ended up being difficult due to the Moth swarm.one of the good zelda bosses of the 64 era.

1.PHANTOM GANON from Legend of Zelda:OOT- Confused me all the time with a double in each portrait in the forest temple. Lost everytime because he would be behind link and miss on the dodging of the lasers.

Honarable montions(including bosses not defeated yet or unbeatable):Sniper Fox in MGS twin snakes.Zeromus from FF IV advance. Phantom train from FF VI advance. Firehounds in TOS. 4 giants in Skies of arcadia. Phoenix Gamma from Mischief makers.

Sync is a prick with the Envy Syndrome. (Meaning he's half the size of everybody else but is easily 10 times stronger than all of them put together) He's too much of a douche for you to really appreciate his character.

Toughest fights…

5. Scar - FullMetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir - He's beatable, but he'll beat your ass down until you have at least 100 odd elixirs (any size) in your inventory.

4. Zombie Ashnard - Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - over 30 in all stats, can't be hurt except by Ike and Laguz characters... Dear God... He's just tough...

3. Abyssion - Tales of Symphonia - He's just huge, he can cast big stuff like Explosion and Meteor Storm in seconds, and he can decimate you with Indignation Judgment in one go. He's got an ungodly large amount of H.P. too... And he looked damn cool.

2. Nebilim - Tales of the Abyss - Abyssion on crack. She was made even tougher for the english release of Tales of the Abyss, but she had less H.P. Reverse engineering all of your Hi-Ougi techniques (Mystic Artes) is just mean.

1. Omega Weapon - Final Fantasy 8 - 5 words. Terra Break and Megiddo Flame. 12 hits devided up between your party, typically doing between 2000-6000 with each go. Megiddo Flame does a guaranteed 9998 damage, no matter how much H.P you've got. Without Aura and Renzokuken, and possible Holy Wars, he'd be unbeatable. You get a GODDAMN CERTIFICATE for beating him. >_<

2. Wiegraf / Velius (all fights) - Final Fantasy Tactics, awesome character, some of the toughest fights in the game (if not being powerleved like made), simply awesome

3, 4, 5, 6 - 5, 13, 16, 9 (Shadow of the Colossus) respectivly, epic game epic battles

7. Final Ganon - Wind Waker, easily my favourite Zelda boss fight, the music the atmosphere, the finale all perfect.

8. Psycho Mantis - Metal Gear Solid, no explanation needed

9. Final Boss Busido Blade - Who could possibly bring a Gun to a sword game….BANG!

10. Rathlos & Rathian - Final Level Single Player Monster Hunter, Epic Game, epic enemies, epic battle, game needs more love.

Favorite:

-Metroid Prime: Meta Ridley. The settings, the music, the fight in itself. Badass.

-Ocarina of Time: Ganon. For its time it was some never seen before stuff, the scenery was absolutely brilliant, very cinematographic.

-Silent Hill 3: The God. Maybe not the fight in itself even if it still made me crap my pants but the cutscene before. Hoooly shit.

-Resident Evil 4: Verdugo. Pure unaltered B movies fun.

-Twilight Princess: Stallord. Probably the most fun I ever had fighting a boss. The first part is already awesome but it's only during the second phase that it becomes a real blast.

Toughest/most annoying ones:

-Beyond Good and Evil: Domz Priest. BG&E is one of my favorite games of the last generation but I never finished it because of that piece of shit last boss. I effortlessly kicked his ass before he pulled that reversed controls garbage, which is probably the cheapest, most artificial way to improve the difficulty in a game. Ubisoft you assholes.

-King of Fighters 1996: Goenitz. KOKODESUKA KOKODESUKA oh go fuck yourself will you.

First level of God of War II
The giant snow yeti in Twilight Princess. Nothing special, but I enjoyed it more than other bosses.
Definitely Ganon from OoT, and Wind Waker
The final boss in Sonic Adventure 2 was extremely easy, but it was pretty epic
First boss in the original Sonic the Hedgehog. A giant swinging ball that nobody can forget.

I never got to Chaos Final Form in Sonic Adventure, I couldn't stand that game. The graphics were terrible and the camera made it worse. The camera...yeah...annoying. Along with running around the city everywhere.

10. Stallord (LoZ - Twilight Princess) - This boss battle was just made of win. Using the most creative item in Link's inventory since the Hookshot to defeat the resurrected baddie was oh so much fun. Plus, it was the only boss in the game that really gave me any trouble.

9. Gary [2nd time] (Pokemon FireRed) - Forget about the originaly Gary/rival/whatever you call him; he was tough and fun in the original for Gameboy but this version of him for the GBA was insane! After you beat the Elite 4 you can go back and fight them again and they have new teams and much higher levels. Gary owns you if you don't have at least a few level 60s/70s. It was fun and amazing, especially the theme for the fight which totally rocked!!

8. Jenna (Ghostbusters) - This game was a cult classic and the final boss was a bitch if there ever was one (they didn't call her the 'Goddess of Destruction' for nothing). You could only damage one part of her gigantic mass of a body and if she touched you or hit you with one of her many beams/arms, you would lose like 1/4 of your health. Definitely anyone looking for a simplistic but awesome trip through the 80's with a Genesis should try it.

7. Chicken Walker (Earthworm Jim) - Definitely a stand out fight from the EWJ series. It starts off like any other boss fight where you're face to face with the enemy and kicking it's ass. Then when you think you've won you and the big meal chicken start free-falling and you are totally taking the bastard out in style. Amazing is the best word to describe that one, plus it was pretty dang hard because you had to avoid the Chicken Walker as you were falling because it kept dropping or throwing eggs at you or something if I recall.

6. Razorbeard (Rayman 2 - The Great Escape) - One of the greatest games ever made has to have a great final boss, right? Of course! This guy wasn't necessarily hard…well actually, yeah he was. He life bar is the size of a small army! You're flying around and shooting at him and whotnot...it's freaking nuts! I loved every second of smashing that guys face in, after what he did to poor Rayman's home world...it was refreshing.

5. Mike Tyson (Punch-Out!) - Anyone that has beaten good ol' Mike deserves a medal! And I'm not talking about on a ROM or with a GameShark or whatever they used for the NES, but somebody that actually sat down and kicked his ass; because I never beat him and neither did my brother and we're both pretty sick at that game. He's impossible but that's why I love him and his one-hit KO!s.

4. Doom Dragon (Golden Sun - The Lost Age) - This fucking guy…makes me say 'fuck' when I think back at how annoying he was. I mean, I had all my characters from both games so it should of been easy! But no, I got my ass handed to me several times before I finally mopped the floor with him. Thank God for Djinn or else that final cutscene would of never transpired.

3. Gannon (LoZ - Ocarina of Time 'Master Quest') - I'm not talking about Ganondorf, but instead his final form as Gannon. If you thought he was hard in Ocarina for the N64 (all you who didn't just take out the Biggeron Sword), then try him on Master Quest and tell me you didn't use all four containers of fairies. He is one hard mother when you're going in there and only planning on using Light Arrows and your wits.

2. Cackletta [Final Boss] (Mario & Luigi - Superstar Saga) - My gawd! was she hard!! You beat her in Bowser form and them get eaten and have to face her head on…starting with a single hit point! You end up using more healing items than you ever needed in the entire game combined and you'll run out of Bros. Points more often then you would like to remember. The key to it all? I don't remember but I do remember a kickass cutscene on my GBA after I beat her scrawny ass into the ground. Although, I do remember the final boss in the Superstar Saga sequel to be quite similar to her yet much easier.

1. Melbu Frahma (The Legend of Dragoon) - Duuuuuuuude~! This is one tough cookie!! He transforms like 5 times and just gets harder everytime, he has more HP than you have experience points, and he looks like a total freak! Took me about two-three hours the first time I beat him, but second/third time I cut it down to an hour or two. Still…oh man is he tedious, but he totally deserved everything he got.

I can't really make a list, but I can remember a few…

The final Bowser fight in Super Mario 64 has pretty much imprinted itself into my memory, not because it was it was really well designed or anything, but because as a little kid I had sat in my babysitter's basement for hours upon hours laboring through that game, and after finally tossing him into those mines for the third time I literally jumped up and down screaming and congratulating myself. I even had an audience of a few other kids watching me, which made it even better. Pretty lame, I know, but I was proud.

A couple months ago I played through all of Zelda II on the NES, and I really liked some of the bosses in that game, even if they were hard to beat. My favorite was probably the dragon Barba, just because trying to jump onto his head, hit him, dodge his fireballs, and then managing to land onto a platform without falling into lava was really satisfying.

Drill Dozer had some epic fights for a GBA game, the jail level's boss, especially. The police chief guy would summon a giant robot which would launch missiles at you, and you'd have to dodge all of them, while it winds up its fist to attack you with. As it's about to hit you, you have to drill into it, so that the fist gets knocked back into the robot, revealing a hole you have to climb into. When you're inside, you have to go through these mini timed platforming stages to get to the robot's engines and then destroy them from the inside. When you run out of time you get spit out and have to repeat the process again until all three engines are gone. Very, very cool.

Mebilim has the same HP, but Unknown was tuned down to an awful 3.5x multiplier. (awful was sarcastic >_>)

Kingdom hearts 2 final mix Sora vs Roxas: "Roxas" true the music is in some cut scenes of the original but it makes this fight poignant.

phantasy star iv Lashiec: The one boss who truly gave me nightmares to beat the music is thumping in this fight

Sonic and knuckles: Last boss: Not Doomsday but the music which plays for the giant robotnik robot and metal sonic depending on who you play as.
