Yes I'm aware of what Roger's real name was, that is how I had it in my post afterall. But still in a manga that utilizes many different languages by the main characters like french, latin, english and spanish I don't think it is unheard of for the use of spanish's Oro to be used in relation to Roger's name. The play on Roger's name from Gol D. to Gold had to start somewhere what's to say that nickname wasn't already floating around. Even still we don't know what the name of the Pirate Kings crew was if he had any so the name might of come from that.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

I know that the manga uses different languages but even then it is as I said. Gold and Oro are not the same word. They mean the same thing in different languages, but they are not the same word so the idea that the ship holds his name doesn´t work here. It would only hold his name if it would use the same term.
To get back on topic, I´m betting my money that the ship will be named "Laughing Tom". Well yeah, that´s the name.

If we´re already looking at color spreads, then why not at this one? Add a sail on it and it would be completed.
If Franky´s going to built the ship and if it would be something like this then I can actually imagine him making the paddle´s row automatically is situations where the wind isn´t strong. Plus it looks at those things at stern could be amplyfiers for breath dials. Franky could surely build such a thing.

Hahah, I like that one too Ivotas, so I'm all for it! I know it won't happen, but it'd just be cool if they had a sea train as their ship, it would be more than one car long though. Honestly according to the crazy lady the sea train just uses the tracks as a 'guide', they can go forward and steer without them.

Nami was able to steer rocket man to ennies lobby after it left the track because of the frog, so she would be able to navigate one.

It's always possible the Frankie Family and the remnants of the Galley-La would join the Strawhat crew permanently. This was even foreshadowed a little… And besides, where else could they go after becoming enemies of the WG?
The ship hosting that lot would need to be a lot bigger than Going Merry.

That is to say, unless Franky builds it, but building a ship bigger than the Going Merry would take a a while unless it was already started, so that's why I think it will be their galleon (with plenty of Frankified upgrades probably).

Personally, I think Impel Down would be the perfect thing to turn a ship into. If my theory about someone escaping from Impel Down and slaughtering everyone is true, then it would be a giant empty underwater prison. The prison has to (somewhat) float and be water tight in order to function as a decent jail facility, so Franky and the rest of Galley-la could spruce it up into a ship.
Too big, you say? Well, I think when Spandam (if he) does the Buster Call, It'll be headed to Water 7. Quick thinking Franky and Iceburg will evacuate everyone into Impel Down and detach it from Enies Lobby, sending it seaward. The Buster Call will destroy Water 7, so the citizens' new home will be the floating fortress of Impel Down.
As for the Mugiwara's new ship, I think they'll take a section of Impel down and use whatever scrap metal they can to create a protoype Pluton. My guess on the name is as good as yours, but here's my suggestions:
Puffing Franky (In honor of Tom)
Will of the D
Pluton II
Franky Family Floating Fortress
Mugiwara Madhouse
Tom's Legacy
Raftel Rider
Luffy and Those Other Guys

I personally Think they will find the Wreckage of The Old Merry and Use all the Salvageable parts (as well as plenty more) as part of a Much Larger Grander Ship. I think it'll be Galley-la who makes the new ship, since they owe the Mugiwara's For Saving Iceburg
I Seriously Doubt They will get The Plutton, as some others Believe.

I think that just a larger more high tech version of the Merry would be nice. Maybe with automatic paddles like Ivotas said. Definetly the sheep head should be kept. Maybe several more rooms, like a larger kitchen and possibly separate rooms for each crew member? I'd like to see how each of them decorates there own rooms.

I doubt the ship will be made by Franky & Iceburg. Reason being that they still have probably another 6 days before the log is set, I don't think ship can be made in 6 days, therefore is has to be an existing ship like maybe (the thing that Franky used almost 200 million to purchase or make)
So I think the best we can have in a Franky & Iceburg action is co-operation in modifying the ship…Franky in Attack power and Iceburg in defensive, more sturdy, more reliable power

What is possible is that the SH main ship could be there, and then secondary add on characters (the likes of, but not necessarily specifically, Zanbai, Pauly, Tileston, and the magic hair spike dude) would sign on as junior officers in command of smaller ships.
This would only work for, like, the very last storyline or something. But it would be a cool thing to happen by the end…cementing Luffy's place as Pirate King by giving him a Warfleet worthy of a ruler.

In the new ship, I would like to see an intense training area. Luffy, Robin,Sanji, Zoro and Chopper can all benifit greatly training and sparring with each other.
Ussop, Nami, and Franky can work on each other machines and try to improve that way.

The Fleet idea is kinda cool, but it's not One Piece. The Strawhats fight fleets, not form them. If they were to bring in so many members, I see them being subordinates. Maybe all following Pauley's orders. Of course, even then, if Franky gets into the Crew (8th member), I don't know what Pauley's place would really be. It seems like too many to pull in at one time. And unless some miracle happens and the Going Merry is brought back "from the dead" (note - I don't use quotes because I don't consider it a being / crew member, I use quotes cause I don't think it's dead yet), the Ship will probably be bigger, and need more crew hands. Were I don't see all of Galley-La joining, I do see the Franky Family joining to stay with Franky. Nothing against Pauly, I just see him staying with what he knows.

If they decide to blame on Spandam crazyness and try to shut the case then we probably we`ll see the Galley-la building a new ship along with Franky. On the other hand if the WG considers the SH uber dangerous it's more likely the ship has already been built and the SH will take it. In that case i think we may get to see where Franky spent the 200Mil…

I don't see how people still entertain thoughts of Paulie or anyone else joining. Franky has the dream that needs to be fulfilled, and it'd make a great plot element. Tom is Franky's idol, his "target to surpass" as a shipwright, and his greatest achievement (arguably… it's the one he died for) was creating the ship for the Pirate King. Not only does Franky have his dream of building a ship that will sail around the world, by building that ship for Luffy he will have surpassed Tom provided that Luffy reaches his own goal. Franky will of course stay with the crew to help Luffy become the Pirate King.

Well it's really more of just a steam engine on their ship…especially Rocketman's. And with Rocketman's engine they could beat speedy getaways, a necessity if the whole freaking WG is going to come after them
