Thank you so much for uploading this! Much love!
-
I recently found a number of Water 7 settei. Many were featured on Toei's site but some, including all the setting settei, I haven't seen on the internet. I decided to upload all the ones in my collection as they are higher resolution than the settei that were released on the OP site. The ones with asterisks are unique settei I have yet to see circulating (if someone has seen these please tell me where so I can see if I'm missing some that another site has archived - thanks!). Some are simply shaded versions of the lineart settei, but I decided to include them anyway. My absolute favorite are the settei of Water 7 itself. All the detail is just amazing (you can even spot Luffy stuck in the wall at Iceburg's place! LOL), and I love the detailed border around each one. I've only seen one another settei like these.

Is there any for Moria?
Not as of yet, maikeru, since they haven't reached that point in the anime.
Toei used to put a new settei on their site weekly but recently removed that portion from their OP pages. If they don't add it I'm afraid we may never see one of Moria (or anyone else from this point out) unless the settei are on DVDs, or if someone can get their hands on them.

yes, of course! my bad
-
WAAAH, those are all great!! Thank you so much for posting those links~~!!
I know that there are settei pres for Jyabura, Fukurou, and Kumadori hiding somewhere.. they were on display at a WJ con, I think. (I got a thumbnail pictures of the Jyabura and Kumadori settei pres. They were all colored.) I wish that the Toei website had released those before they shut down the settei pre section. >_>
-
Are there any of Bartholomew Kuma and Doflamingo? Sorry if there were and I missed them. Just let me know what page they are on.

Ah yes, I have those thumbnail pics as well. I think crossbones posted them a while back over at K-F (or at least that's where I found mine). I wishToei had released more as well before closing shop on that portion of the site.
I found two colored settei (well one settei and one location/production art) for Dead End no Boken. These were in the movie program.

I think I'm gonna color the settei's you scanned in those batch files. Now, all we need is a translator to translate the little Japanese tidbits and we'd have a perfect source any body would need for reference for these characters.
-
Buuhan, that would be awesome if you could color them (the job you did on CoralSnake's Perona pic is terrific!). It really would be an amazing reference to have! I wish I could help translate – but my Japanese is atrocious....
-
Oh, I wont be coloring them like the Perona. That coloring took me 6 and a half hours. I'd be coloring these like in the anime, hard shaded with only 3 different colors. (Base, shadow, highlight)
-
Oh I realize that.
But with the quality of your coloring, they will look great!

Hey Kitanokokoro. Do you know if there are any settei pre that has the strawhats (especially Robin) in there costumes from opening 4?
-
anyone know if there are any Settei's of Nelson out there?I only found Eric.
-
Hey Kitanokokoro. Do you know if there are any settei pre that has the strawhats (especially Robin) in there costumes from opening 4?
Actually, they're wearing the same costumes as they do in Movie 4 (if we're thinking about the same part in the opening!). I haven't seen any actual b/w settei sheets but here is what I have – from the manga version of the movie and the movie program.

Lobolover, unfortunately I haven't seen any settei for Nelson.

Actually I was talking about the ending part of opening 4, but nice scans anyway.

thats kinda weird, considering that nothing on him is un-original (swirly cheek paterns, black dots for eyebrows a giant marine symbol tatood on an even more giant stomach) .Hm.I wonder who designed him, anyway.

I guarantee they made at least one for Nelson (probably a full body and then head/facial expressions). They make settei for everyone and everything, including locations, but we've only seen a small fraction of them. I have settei for very obscure and ordinary objects - a lantern, binoculars, etc. The only settei we've seen are the ones Toei has decided to release - through their website, books, etc. There are SO many settei that I would love to see – Arlong and his crew and the other CP9 members, just to name a few.
And speaking of Nelson, I just found a settei that contains Nelson but it isn't him solely.
I came across some settei on a few HK DVDs I have. I had to take screencaps of them so I really have no control over the small size or image quality (sorry!). I absolutely love the painted Laboon settei!

Was there ever a settei with Blackbeard? Cause I only seen the crew. And how about Auger`s gun?
-
A!ina, I haven't seen one of Blackbeard or Augre's gun. I'm really hoping that we will see these (or at least new ones we haven't seen!) on the Funi DVDs, depending on what goodies Toei gives Funi access to.
I didn't have any luck capturing larger images of the settei above (or the new ones below), but since they are some that haven't been circulating around the internet I'll go ahead and post them. The colored ones are really cool - especially of Ace.
A note about the Movie 1 settei – they were part of an interview so I couldn't do anything about the OP image and kana that sometimes dominates the frame.

So, don't color any settei's from Alabasta as it'd be a waste of time. Noted.

Oh, I just came across this thread. Since the Settei Pre elite appears to be around in this place, I just have to ask a question:
Does anybody have any Settei Pre of Smoker's Bike/Trike? I know there is some, cause I saw it once. But I'm unable to find it again.
I hope you guys can help me!EDiT: I also put that request in my signature quiet some time ago…

Porter, here's a settei from the Animation Logbook. If I recall, it's the only one I've seen:

For any Settei pre collector:
110 set
50.00 so farI saw that… Though my first thought is that I'd rather have them in book form since who knows if this guy just didn't print them off a site. Or does anyone think that wouldn't be possible? wouldn't wanna pay that much for something like loose prints anyone could make
Then again I'm having no luck finding those books for sale. Does anyone have scans of some of the book covers that might have some of these (other than the volumes listed in those old ebay listings)?
-
Original settei are extremely rare. I've seen one or two on japanese sites, and they went for about $100 PER SHEET. These are simply xerox copies, which is what most settei are - what is circulated around to the artists, etc.
This seller, I'm almost certain, makes multiple copies (from some source) and sells them (I purchased a set from her months ago, and she advertised the exact same set a few weeks back). The set I purchased did have a few sheets that I've never seen on the web, but most were pretty common.
Most settei on the internet were probably originally found on the Toei website and are fairly low resolution (they all run a consistent 841 X 612). If someone found larger images on the internet, such as images in this thread, I think it would be very easy for someone to simply print them off and sell them.
As far as books, the only ones I've see are probably the covers you mention. Here they are just in case:
[hide]Volume 1
Volume 2
Volume 3
[/hide]
All the settei pictured on that listing can be found in this thread - I can repost them if you don't want to search through all 9 pages. Just from looking at them quickly, some are found with the Movie 5 settei and a few others (Robin specifically) are in the Water 7 settei. The three settei volumes cover earlier on in the story - from the beginning of the series until early Arabasta - so the settei on that eBay listing (at least the ones pictured) won't be found in them.
While you can find various settei in the data books, animation logbook, the japanese DVDs, and some of the movie programs, these three volumes are the only ones I know of that are simply devoted to settei and are authentic licensed Toei products. When I've seen them on eBay (where I found all of mine), they typically run about $25 per book.
-
Are there any settei pre of brook yet?
-
Unfortunately, when Toei redesigned the One Piece portion of the website they removed the weekly settei. I don't think any of us have been lucky enough to see a settei of Brooke…or any settei for that matter since Water 7 revisited.
(BTW...if someone has discovered that Toei put the settei back up on the site please let us know!)
-

Too bad there aren't more perspectives. But thank you very much.
You have a wonderful DeviantArt Gallery.
Thanks again.
I'd love to make the Billower Bike my next piece of art there. That's why I'm looking for all the pictures/information/sketches I can find…
-
Look what I just found - Arlong settei!
(…and, yes, I'll scan'em when they arrive!)
-
Woah, don't think we've seen those before. I still wonder if Toei is making settei and just not posting them. They gotta be, it's part of the production.
-
I don't think we have. I certainly haven't at any rate - that's why I was so excited when I saw them! I'm really curious to see what the entire set consists of (there are about 150 settei total). Most of them are probably common ones we have seen, but just for the ones pictured makes it worth it. I've always loved the lineup settei - it's awesome to see Arlong and his crew compared to the Strawhats, Bellmere, etc..
And I agree that Toei is still making the settei - they would need them as references for all their artists.
-
My settei set arrived today.
It's a sizeable stack (about 150 sheets) that includes characters from the Arlong arc, Loguetown, and Warship Island. There are a ton of Fishmen, some of Bellmere, Nojiko, Dragon, etc. Lobolover, I have a few of Eric as well (I think you were looking for some a long time ago??). I thought many of these settei would ones I already have, but most of these I've never seen.
Since I have family from out of town visiting, it will take me some time to get them all scanned. Here are a few samples, however:

Jeez, Arlong's tall.
-
So many things I wouldn't even know without u Kitano….
Great settei...thanks one more time... -
two things:
-
geez, fishmen are huge. they´re much smaller than in the manga. or am i wrong?
-
isn´t zorro supposed to be taller than sanji?
-
-
(sorry, e1n)
Honestly? I don't know at this point. From several settei's I've seen it seems Zoro and Sanji range from being the same height, to being taller than one another.
-
Great settei…thanks one more time...
Anytime, chpollastrini. I'll try to get the rest scanned later this week - once I get my mom on a plane, and my life returns to normal.
@Mr.:
- isn´t zorro supposed to be taller than sanji?
Zoro should be taller (at least Oda has specified that he is taller than Sanji), but the settei vary. At one time Bevin pointed out that the early settei had Sanji taller, but as the series progressed they are shown being the same height. I don't remember seeing one with Zoro taller, but I may very well be wrong. Here's a few examples I quickly found:

I don't think anyone's posted these yet. Came across some Thriller Bark settei pre on Yahoo Japan– didn't even try to bid, since they were incredibly expensive, but I saved the thumbnails. Not that big, but still kind of neat.
-
Wow, bevin, those are amazing. Thanks for posting them! I sure wish Toei hadn't taken down their settei page…
-
Woah! Those are cool! The Absalom even has him without his shirt, and that hasn't even happened in the anime yet. I wish we could get bigger versions…
-
I've scanned the Arlong settei – 63 in all. I just uploaded them in a single file, but if anyone wants single sheets I can do that, too. There are no Strawhat settei (except for the lineups), but all other major characters are represented, including Arlong, Hatchan, Kuroobi, Nojiko, Bellemere, Genzo, and a few dozen random Fishmen.

There was also a single settei from Ep 19 (Zoro's backstory):

The other settei still to be scanned are from Buggy's side story, Loguetown, and Warship Island. I'll post them when time allows.
-
Thanks Kitano, most of the settei I have in here are scanned by u…
And probably I wouldn't even see them if it wasn't this way...Maybe someday I'll visit u in there to give u some kind of gift...
-
It's my pleasure, chpollastrini – glad you enjoy them! I doubt you'll ever find yourself in middle-of-nowhere Montana, but if you do give me a call.
Sorry it's taken me so long to get these last ones scanned but here is a batch from Loguetown and the filler everyone loves to hate, Warship Island.

edited to add: Forgot the few that were part of Buggy's side story. I'll just post them here:
