Not hardly, goldb, but thanks. I just have a love for concept art, settei, and production art.

Here is what I have as far as movie settei. They vary in quality (some are poor quality screencaps, while others are photos or scans) and number. They come from various sources - mostly movie programs - and don't look like the standard settei that are found throughout this thread (except for Movie 5). Credit goes to crossbones over at the KF forums for the settei for Movies 6,7, and 9.

goldb, thanks for the heads up. The files were originally uploaded to Sendspace, and the links expire (didn't realize that at the time). I'll upload them to another site and post the links when I'm finished. I'll also double check all the individual image links. Many of the settei are hosted on ImageShack, and I've had problems with some of the links in the past.

You're right, Nojiko has awesome setteis, and a lot too! I love how they pay attention to every single detail, like when they show how her hair is supposed to look like, above her forehead Young Nojiko setteis are adorable too^^
And there's some good reference for drawing Bellemere's hair too :3

No, your only bet is eBay. HQ settei material is usually private that ultimately gets leaked when someone connected sells them, and after Post-Water 7 Toei doesn't even post small images on their site.

I don't think Sanji is actually taller than Zoro. Between each lineup they change. Some Zoro is taller than Sanji, others Sanji is taller than Zoro… and in others, they're the same height.

Hate to break it to ya, but Toei pretty much stopped putting out Settei's right before Thriller Bark started in the anime. A few (very very few) settei's from Thriller Bark have turned up, so if you're wanting ones from SA your best bet is to wait, wait and wait and often search eBay.

Al!na, the settei are really hard to come by, even on eBay, which is where I have found most of mine. Toei did publish three settei books, but they only went as far as Alabasta, if memory serves me correctly (you can find those on eBay on occasion).

I have seen some settei on the Yahoo Japan auctions, but I've never gone that route to purchase them. They are usually just one or two settei sheets and are incredibly expensive since they are probably the original settei drawings (not copies - or copies of copies - like mine tend to be).

@ scorpian: I haven't seen any Thriller Bark settei for Nami except for the one you found (I really wish Toei was still putting these on their site!), but if you look through this thread there are many older settei of Nami. If any of the links are broken I'd be happy to repost them.

Because I love Setteis :B And I'm a huge OP collector, you see, and my favorite characters hardly ever get any merchandise, so I'm happy to get cards/settei/whatever has them on
And I love Sabaody arc, too.
Besides, there would have been Supernova Settei as well, and I'm sure that would be a HUGE exclusive material for my website They have lots of fans, you know. I am willing to scan them and spread the love~

Define incredibly expensive. Most settei sets you see tend to have anywhere from 50-130 pages. The vast majority are copies. Even for copies, prices of around $100USD aren't that uncommon. One Piece might go for a little cheaper than that. It's very, very, very rare to find original, hand-drawn settei sheets.

I looked at the settei sets on YJ after reading your post. All of them had at least 50 sheets, and all were copies. Prices ranging from 2500 yen to 8000 yen. Though I could have sworn that there was a set of original settei of the Straw Hats as chibis up on YJ for the longest time. We're talking over a year. But I think the price was something like $200, and it had like 5 sheets or something. I can't remember, and now I can't find it. I wonder if someone finally bought it?

I'm not a fan of purchasing settei sets, mainly because they usually are so large. I do have quite a bit of original production art, though, so I know a little bit about settei pricing.

One Piece is completely colored by computer, except for the OVA and the 1st movie (these are pretty expensive). So you'd probably have to settle for a production sketch. Sometime in the past, Toei started using computers to do their inbetween work, so you'll only see inbetween drawings (douga) for the earlier episodes and video games. The later episodes only have key drawings (genga) and layouts, settei, and storyboards in actual physical form. Plus Toei doesn't release any of its production art, so most of what actually comes on the market was probably smuggled out of the studio.

So, for such a long series, there really isn't much available. At least, there's not much available compared to some of the old, popular, cel-produced series like Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, or Dragonball. You've got a good chance of seeing something new from those shows every day, and at least you'll see something old. One Piece art only really comes available once every couple of months, and in big lots, so if you only want one sheet or something, you might not win against those bidding to keep the whole set (they'll probably bid higher).

Oh, but One Piece does have reproduction cels! Those are basically cels painted after the show aired. They only pick a couple of shots, and I believe that they paint five of each shot. They don't have the one-of-a-kind specialness that a production cel has, but they're the closet thing you're going to get.

Who exactly are you looking to get? I have some key sketches from Thriller Bark for sale, plus I got a bunch of layouts from the episode where Camie is introduced, and I'm considering selling some of them. I haven't made up my mind yet. They're all cute, but I just have so many. :unsure:

I've scanned the Arlong settei – 63 in all. I just uploaded them in a single file, but if anyone wants single sheets I can do that, too. There are no Strawhat settei (except for the lineups), but all other major characters are represented, including Arlong, Hatchan, Kuroobi, Nojiko, Bellemere, Genzo, and a few dozen random Fishmen.

Unfortunately, the only thing I understand from the covers is the volume number. Below are the covers, however… When I searched for them I tried "One Piece" along with "settei" or "sketch". It's been a while so I don't have the sellers' names anymore, but I think all of them were strictly used booksellers in Japan.
