Just a quick question though: why do y'all use the translation 'Sunny-Go' instead of just 'Sunny'? I remember reading that 'go' is a suffix in the name that means that its a ship, but I don't remember ever seeing any translations that called Merry the 'Merry-Go". However, it seems that ever since Sunny has been introduced a lot of translators have called it the Sunny-Go. Is there a specific reason for that, or is it just a personal preference and thats just what y'all wanted to use?

You can probably get a better answer from asking martigan (the translator) in this thread, if you have a MH account. When I'm typesetting a scan I typically won't mess with the script unless it's bad grammar etc…

I think the Merry was called something like "Going Merry-Go", which sounds kind of dumb, most online TLs did drop the -go, but I think the licensed translation called it the "Merry Go".

Japanese can be interpreted into English a number of ways, so it all comes down to the preference of the translator. IMO maintaining some of the suffixes can often make reading it more natural. Different strokes for different folks though.

I think it is a modern development. If you check the last chapters of before Merry "died" it was also refered to as Merry-Go. It´s not just since Sunny´s introduction. But since that was only about in two chapters nobody noticed it that much while everything with Sunny is so new that the -go part really gets your attention. At least I take that to be the reason for it.

Go, is how you adress a ship in japanese, like San,Sama,Kun or Sensei.

Tho could you perhaps stop using "Mugiwara no Luffy" and use "Straw Hat Luffy"? I'm fine with Mugiwara being used for "Straw Hat" but "Mugiwara no Luffy" really should be properly translated.
