This Games Lack of Zell, Galuf, And Kain will be its only down fall.

But that aside, I think that, if this game succeeds, I don't doubt they'll make a bunch of sequels until most every character is at least in the game, if not playable. Giving Warrior of Light the ability to change into a few of the FFI classes, take out Onion Knight completely and add in Luneth and the others properly, add in Kain, Rydia, Palom and Porom as one fighter, Edge, a boss fight exclusive with Zemus/Zeromus, Galuf, Faris, Lenna, That other girl that joins (never played too far into FFV), Locke, Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Shadow, Gau, Cyan, Umaro, Gogo, Relm, Strago, Mog, Leo, Barret, Tifa, Cid, Yuffie, Vincent, Reno, Zell, Selphie, Seifer, Rinoa, Irvine, Edea, Laguna, Vivi, Steiner, Garnet, Quina, Freya, Eiko, Amarant, Beatrix, Wakka, Lulu, Yuna, Kimahri, Rikku, Auron, Seymour, and anyone equally valid from FFXI, FFXII, FFXIII, Tactics, Tactics Advanced, and others.
If they do make sequels encompassing the above characters, they need to exclude the following games from their characters being included:
Final Fantasy X-2 (This was Square-Enix trying to make a T&A Game and shouldn't be considered a part of the canonical franchise)
Final Fantasy VII spinoffs (Let's stick with regular VII, shall we?)
Characters from other Square-Enix games (Now as much as I would love to see Kazuki, Ryogo, Emma, and Lukav from Front Mission 3 burst into the scene in Wanzers or see Aya unleashing a flurry of bullets onto Eve, both from Parasite Eve, this is a Final Fantasy game and should remain that way. This means no Kingdom Hearts or TWEWY characters either.)
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (This game is about as Final Fantasy Canon as Super Mario Bros. The Movie was Super Mario Bros. Canon. No thank you!)
But yeah. If they made sequels, it would be great for them to include more characters from the other series, but as I see it, they need to be careful not to go overboard.

I don't see secondary characters being in this game unless there is a sequel in the near future. I don't mind it being, Hero/Heroine vs Villain is the main theme of it.

Gabranth is pretty awesome in his own right, but I'll forgive them for choosing ANOTHER armored character if they take his helmet off.
Yeah, no Balthier. We were gypped. I was really hoping for Cid and Balthier, because doesn't every FF game need a Cid? Oh well, if they do put in the XII counterpart then Basch isn't bad.

I'm pretty sure that XI and XII are the "secret" characters in the game, hence only one representative.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out since Gabranth became kind of a "reformed" bad guy along the game, so theres always the possibility for having a choice between siding with Cosmos or Chaos, or he's just neutral as someone else said earlier.
Now what would be pretty badass is having Basch as his alternate costume thanks to the twin brother relationship.

Destiny Hero's Guide - Story Mode Difficulty Ranking and other information
So a few highlights from the Destiny Hero's Guide for everyone -To access Shantotto and Gabranth's special storyline, you do have to complete story mode at the least. Also, completing story mode will open up a special mode called Duel Coliseum where you are given a random "fight card" of opponents to battle. The "fight cards" change depending upon what day it is and which day you select as your "Special Day" when first starting the game will come into play.
Also, the guide ranks the characters' Story Modes, so if you're still trying to decide who to start with, this may help. Number of stars indicates the level of difficulty.
★ - Cecil and Cloud
★★ - Firion and Tidus
★★★ - Squall and Zidane
★★★★ - Onion Knight and Bartz
★★★★★ - Warrior of Light and Terra
Well with the Street Date of Dissidia finally confirmed, let alone the game's now out. Here's some information I'm here to give you about the game, plus more. Also I've now allowed anyone, including anonymous users to post comments. However I'll see how that works out. Until then here's some new info on the games!
Decembet 16th
- All of the Member's storylines advance in Story Mode.
- There is a move scene everytime you clear the game with one person.
- Most techniques can be done with the push of a button, though it depends on timing.
- Cutscenes can be skipped, and the choice to do so comes up when you start the game.
- It takes about a hour and a half to beat Cloud's Story
- Terra's story takes about two hours to complete.
- Terra's Storymode difficulty is rather high.
- Each character requires a different Strategy when using them.
- The game uses the PSP's Latest Firmwire Update (Sorry not 1.50, my mistake it's 5.01)
- The Evasion Technique (Using the Right button with X, and a direction button) is kind of hard to get used to but it's a major point in the game.
- The Limited Edition's Calendar is kind of small, however interestingly enough on some sites the Calendar has been moved elsewhere it still comes with the bundle though.
- Leveling up isn't as hard as it is in other Final Fantasy games, Firion takes about a couple of hours to get to level 14…nevermind it is pretty long

Oh, and that Jecht and Kefka are top tier among the villains. That's poetic justice right there.

I got the game yesterday, it seems you have to buy characters via PP shop. Whatever PP means. I started and finished story with Cloud which as the difficulty says, is really easy. I'm at level 17 with Cloud at the time and I'm just leveling him up through versus mode now.
I tried most of the other characters and Zidane was really really fun with all his combos, even though he's an air fighter seeing as he has three jumps. Squall's attacks are hard to start up but they go on a pretty long combo. Tidus is really fast while his HP attacks have giant lag times though.
Warrior of Light being hard? Not at all, he seems like another hack and slash character to me. The hardest characters I've played is probably Firion. He has all range attacks and I'm assuming he uses his other weapons in EX mode.
I've also played Cecil. He can change from Dark Knight to Paladin with his HP attacks. HP air changing to a Paladin, and HP land changing to Dark Knight. Dark Knight fights better on land, Paladin is to air.
You can go through the game without any knowledge of Japanese, however the cut scenes still make me want an english release soon or at least announced.
You start out with only four attacks but it's pretty fun still. Two HP and Two BP attacks. I'm only at level 17 with Cloud and I only have five or six attacks.
Meh, that's about it, I only played it for two or three hours.

Is there a difficulty setting in this game? Because judging from that video, it looks like the setting was set to its easiest mode with the computer (being Kefka) didn't put up much of an effort in fighting.
BTW, Chiba sounds exactly like Buggy here. I would've thought he kept the high pitch for Kefka's dialogue in all instances.:blink:

That mocking laugh Kefka does seems like it'll get old, fast… VERY cool that the FF6 music is the Atma weapon theme, though!

Whoever told you that is likely ignorant. Why? I'll tell ya; that's what we call a tank character. Common in fighters. Ganondorf, Astaroth, Dracula, Chang, etc. Speedy characters don't murde rthem if you know what the hell you're doing. Actually, this makes me happy to hear; the slow moving heavy-hitters are my forte. Having ExDeath play in that style just makes me happy as a god damn peach!
Also, I hear he specialises in counter attacks and defensive moves. Thank god I'm good with Geese Howard in KoF. I'm well-accustomed to characters with a heavy emphasis on counter attacks. Again; I'm happy.
If this game is online (which I'm pretty sure it is, but I could be wrong), expect me to rape with the evil tree.

LoL I didn't like the whole standing around and waiting and attacking system of FF. I prefer real time combat like Devil May Cry. Since this game is a fighter it has me interested in it hopefully it doesn't disappoint.
I'm surprised you can actually wait for the game some of the other final fantasy fanatics was dying for the game to come out weeks before it game out .

I have a tendency to be one of those ppl..who will starve or w 8 longer to see the big accumulation of weight loss when i actually ge ton the scale rather then those who go to the scale every 5 seconds.
yeah it's self mutilation to watch everyone play the game….becuz I AM dying it's just...I'd rather not spoil myself til ti comes ut. Then I'll have the BIGGEST Orgasm and prolly die..when I get it in english....everyone lse will still be alive cuz they fed themselves it when it came out..but a good death none the less

In any case, to your comment about tank characters, I hear Cloud of Darkness is also like that. A very slow, very VERY heavy hitter.
Also, even if it is Buggy's Seiyu… the people writing the script should have tried to make it so that Kefka's laugh was maintained as closely as possible.

one thing though… i notice the characters pretty much make the same repeated attack crys for many of their moves. I could see the english version getting annoying to the ears reaaallly fast.
hell even the japanese track was starting to get irritating. But then again, i'd probably change my tune when i'm actually playing the game

Squall vs. Sephiroth was pretty sweet to see; a very reminiscent blend of Squall's opening FMV and the Speh/Cloud fight in Advent Children. The Zidane/Tidus combo was pretty awesome too.
