I wonder if he lived trough the void century. He died 500 years ago and as a giant, he might have lived more than 200 years.

He did. And once we get his flashback, which should span 2-3 chapters, we'll understand more about what the world was like back then.

is he a giant though? he has horns and fangs… dont think giants could have evolved that much since their equal to "neanderthals" in just 2-3 generations...

He just seems to be a big monster…. I doubt he is a D, this is the most farfetched guess of D I've seen. However it does raise an intereasting thing. Luffy is a D and we may see a little something come out of this. Even if its a small thing (smiling before it dies).

It's not so far fetched.
We know from this chapter that Oz hails from a nation of brigands and criminals.
We know from Robin's backstory that the True History concerns a single nation that defied what is now the World Government.
It's very possible these are the same countries.
If they are, and the likely theory that D.s are descendants of that nation is true, then that would make Oz an ancestral D.

God I hope not. D's are nice and all, but I don't want everyone to be a D. Esepcially since we got a shitload of info on them just recently.

I don't think so. I think D's started when Gol D. Roger (I believe, the first D), was introduced.

Morai: Saul is theoretically older then Gol D Roger. and he also says "everyone in my family has it" which would imply his father which is even older then Saul.
Presumebly the D legacy is tied to the ancient kingdom of the void centuary

Of course, don't you know =P. And shit I forgot to type "want" in my post ==;;. I hate it when I forgot to type words like that, but I am reading it in my mind with including want ==.
Anyway, it's just when a new character shows up it's like "OMG ARE THEY A D?!" I just don't want him to be. D's are supposed to be this mystical clan who is "uber" strong, based on theory anyway, so it would be lame if every time someone strong showed up it would be a D.
That, and I don't really see what the point of having 900 be a D would be.

no oz wasn't created by hogback he was a already frozen zombie. I don't think that hogback really creates the zombies just stitches em. so it is possible for one of the zombies former lives to have been a .d. (wiz d. ard of oz?? if he is a d (doubtful) please not)
i don't think that all d.'s are blood related. Somehow i doubt that it is possible for a giant to be part of Luffy's family. If he was a hybrid maybe (half-human half-giant) but i think that the d's are a clan

Why does everyone seem to be convinced that he's going to have a flashback? I mean, it's completely possible he might, but I don't really see anything that points to it.

Are you serious? The guy was introduced with practically no background info in the last chapter and you already assume he is a D?! What on earth leads you to believe such a thing other than "maybe if I'm lucky, it'll be true and I can rub it in"?
