I liked one eprson's idea that "Nero" was meant to refer to Robin.

"Nero," pronounced in English, is "Ni-Ro." As in Nico Robin?

Granted, in Japanese "Nero" is pronounced more like "Neh-ro" or "nay-ro" but it is as legitimate a possibility as anything else.
