Ever notice how you can get lost in Wikipedia for hours just going from article to article and putting all sorts of useless trivia and shit into your brain?

Well the other day I found out about a film called Freaks and the proceeded to watch it for free on Google Video.

I'm now afraid. Very afraid.

I guess this is one of those films that everyone in 'the business' knows about and I just completely missed because of the fact that it stars actual handicapped/deformed individuals and it gets swept under the carpet but boy do a lot of Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. gags make sense now! If you have about an hour that you can waste check it out, or skip through to the wedding scene or and the grim ending. Freaky. (see what I did there?)

Yeah, I've never seen it, but I've read a lot about it. Always meant to see it one day, so maybe I will.

The wiki for it has a link right to the full movie on Google. At the very least watch the wedding scene or the ending. The pinhead crawling through the rain with the knife is fricking scary as hell.

EDIT. What a freaky film, there's some frigging worm guy with a knife in his mouth lol. It reminds me of resident evil but knowing there aren't any special effects amplifys the "mess with your head" factor

It's like a David Lynch movie, except with actual living misshapen people. One of the most disturbing films I've ever seen, no doubt.

I have this film on DVD, and like Pass the Rootbeer I consider it to be a classic…and not just a cult classic, mind. Yet as disturbing as it can be at times, after watching Titticut Follies – which isn't about actually deformed, physically misshapen people and is about actually 'insane', severely mentally disabled people – I don't really think that Freaks is all that bad, really.

I am surprised that the entire thing is available online, though, unless it's there illegally. Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't think that Freaks was in the public domain.
