New to OnePiece, and now here ^_^

hello hello -

I finally caved under the heavy suggestion of a co-worker to check out One Piece.

I'm totally glad I have now. Checked out three episodes, laughed my arse off and now I'm on episode 44 having just finished the Merman arc in Arlong Park.

Using the anime to get caught up on the story, for the most part- then I'll be able to go back and read the manga more quickly to catch up to current RAW releases.

Quick question, though if anyone is willing to answer it. Are there OP filler arcs? And if so, what episodes do they run for Japanese releases, so that I may skip them - ?

the only good filler arc is G8, its one of those episodes that one actually think is part of the manga when its not

I'd recommend not skipping any filler arcs until after Alabasta as they tend to tie into the anime. One Piece filler is great compared to others anyways.

About the fillers, I myself dislike most of them – except one, which is G8 right after Skypiea [eps 196-207 if I remember correctly]. That one was great.

Welcome and have fun posting, be sure to check the manga as soon as possible! Beware of bad scanlations till mid vol. 20, so I'd recommend taking the raw with Stephen's translation [[ [URL]http://www.mangascreener.com/stephen/onepiece/onepiece.html ]] till you get to about vol. 8 or 9, then continue with normal subs or with him till you get to NULL's scanlations.
