"Jet"- Luffy version of Rankyaku

Did anyone notices that luffy new move are include "jet"
jet pistol, jet bazooka.
"jet" is a projectile technique in which luffy using old attacks at very high speeds and strength,
sending out a strong invisible "air force"

it work similar rankyaku, rankyaku sending out air blade, jet send out air blunt force.
but luffy modify it blunt attack + "Air force" to enhance his power.
remember when luffy last shot defeated blueno jetto bazooka?
luffy stretch his arm far behind and perform jetto bazooka to blueno, his arm hit blueno body 1st,
after that come with his body attack. after i go to watch this scene few more times,
i find that luffy isnt hit with his body, but he is using "air force" to "hit" blueno.

same to luffy vs lucci last shot.
luffy storm his fist to lucci face and body, but it dint move lucci, but after luffy say "jet"
lucci was knock off and fly towards a wall. (i cant describe well, just go to read chap 427)

Beside soru, what technique/idea did luffy learn/modify from cp9?

1st. this has been discussed thoroughly before.

2nd. It's been shown that gear 2 jet attacks are merely faster versions of the original attacks. There is no air pulse or rankyaku type attack for any strawhat attack other than zoro's # pound cannons.

it looks like he is using some rankyoku like attack but in reality he is doing the normal attacks faster and oda kinda draws it like we can see in your post

for example in the anime something like a rankyoku attack was shown in the previous openning but in the actual fight it was not shown like that

that air thing in the pictures that looks like rankyoku kinda shows luffy did the attack and his hand returned instantly

Before that, it was debatable whether he attacked so quickly that it created the after-bursts of air, or whether he simply 'punched air' towards his opponent.

Yeps and the speed of the attack contributes to the force –> People can take on a little tennisball thrown at them , but they can't survive a tennisball thrown at them with a speed of 1000 km/h
And Luffy's Jet attacks have such a speed because we see the sonic booms.

This thread made me remember the whacky theories: one even said Luffy sent a "kamehameha"-like attack from his palms just because he held his hand before him.

every physical attack is about applying force...

Luffy in gear 2 increases the acceleration of his attacks. F=ma so he can apply more force in his attacks in gear 2 by ramping up acceleration.

Gear 3 on the other hand increases mass so you still apply more force.

sorry i dint know it discussed b4. This topic is just base on
whether luffy using "air pulse" or not?
If SBS do say that luffy attack are ONLY base on physical.(i m not sure :p)
then i will suggest we stop this topic,
since we are just assuming and guessing.
why dont we talk about luffy potentially have the ability to sending out "air pulse"?
I know luffy are using gear 2.
but did anybody see whats the diffirent/ any chancing of the move after using gear 2?

we know luffy and zoro sending an air pulse(pound cannon??) to Aqua Laguna.
making a large hole to the tidal wave.
we all assume that zoro and luffy are almost same or same in the power level.
we know zoro can cut things without actual contact to the object.
sometime he just sending a air blade out.

luffy do have pysical contact with lucci's body,
doesnt mean he cant create second time attack with air pulse.
why cant luffy sending air pulse?
1. he making one(pound cannon?) before, it is very powerful.
if it is powerful enough, i dont see why he donwan to use it againts the enermy?
2. since many people say that luffy are slightly stronger then zoro,
why cant he included air pulse actack?
3. we do see diffirent in move right? 1st luffy apply physical force to opponent,
then we do see second level of force is stronger then the 1st attack.
the opponent will send/shot fly far away.

IF luffy doent use "air pulse" in cp9 arc, why dont he use "air pulse" in future?
using air pulse attack will be less impact to user body. when luffy attack to opponent's body
luffy still receive force and impact. luffy is rubber doenst make him not hurt,
it just less pain then his opponent only.
imagine how fast and how strong the gear 2 was, it sure hurt luffy body.

here is the reason why he isnt and will never use air pulse to attack an enemy
1. air is not solid
2. it will make his rubber body (his capability to stretch) completely pointless and useless…
3. why would anyone hit people with air when they can punch them hard with fists lol (if the fist hitting the enemy has enough acceleration to hurt him/her, why not just punch the person to knock him/her out)

I agree with you that air pulse from luffy will weaker then a regular hit.

but i dont agree with luffy are immune to physical damage.

because blunt and blade force are also physical damage.

if luffy are immune to physical damage, he wont suffer from lucci's Rokuougan. his rubber just greatly reduce the physical damage.

Rokuougan (最大輪　六王銃) - Literally, the largest ring: six king gun. Used by Lucci in his hybrid form, this technique is used the same as Rokuougan, except now with a larger attack radius - it seems Lucci doesn't even have to touch his opponent.

that why i asume it wont be physical touch to hurt the opponent.

please remember, this is manga/anime, some theories doenst work here. but it is fun to guessing and asume.

hi mujushin, it was very logic at 1st u say that lucci has claws.
but when i view over again the manga, i found this.

If luffy not a rubberman , i doubt that he will survive from lucci's rokougan.

in wikipedia , they even say lucci seems doesn't even have to touch his opponent to deliver the force of rokougan.
