Well, this member was … possibly a little hasty earlier and would like to reaffirm his allegiance to this forum and its admins. they may not be perfect, but they're the best admins we have. For now.

And since I have a feeling this will flaming continue, let me say this. My anger is aimed at the incident itself, and is in no way aimed at the staff.
I've got to agree, since everyone going crazy in the "Griffin's Place" forum just shows how far this forum has fallen in two years. One of the boons of this place over other forums is that the userbase is significantly older, and therefore more mature, but that chaotic mess just shows everyone here is only a step away from the tardism of Narutofan and an opportunity need only present itself for everyone to go rabid.
Of course, I got my feet wet too, but that's irrelevant.

Frankly, what I'm angry about is that, in spite of this incident, it sounds like "club elite", the mods and admins are still planning something for AF. God dang it people, I fudged up my main PC experimenting with keyloggers to hijack the forum, and here you all go and say "LOL IT WAS INDEED A JOKE THAT GOT OUT OF HAND BUT STILL JUST AS PLANNED".
I wouldn't have even bothered if you lot didn't make it sound so serious, with stuff like "we're still trying to contact the server guy" or "I should never have trusted him". Instead of saying, "ignore everything, everyone, we'll get this under control in a day or so" you lot just worked everyone else up. That's weak leadership, it is.
Honestly, just give up the pranks for this year; I was going to have a debate with Xetalimn_Erket for AF but the whole experience has gone sour. Any "jokes" after this incident would be in really bad taste.
People like UNKNOWNFILE have gotten banned on AP for less than what the Griffin fellow did, so I can't see why you lot are still trying to pretend nothing happened.

I didn't mind the prank at all. Not to offend anyone, but you basically have to have no life whatsoever to be pissed about being banned from an internet forum. I'm sure the majority of us here have lives outside of AP (at least I hope so). Besides, it was only a few days, so let it go.

Then he went off banning everyone for stupid stuff.
Then he hid the boards and told us he deleted them(I'm not sure if he came out and said it, but it was implied) and basically, it was all crazy. I should have realized when we could access the thread in the Help forum that it wasn't deleted. I just thought that banned members still having their posts show up in search meant you could find deleted threads.
And yeah, it would have been fine if he gave 1 day bannings to people and 2 to staff.
Would it have been so hard to have opened a newbie account and sent him PMs to tell him to "activate phase XXX!" or something?

It was a joke, the staff already apologized, SPAM messages were deleted, everything is back to normal. Pissed? You know where's the door. As simple as that.

I just find it slightly annoying a guy who showed the maturity of a braindead preschooler still has the ability to mess with the forum while as Terek said normal members got banned for far less.

I really do want to apologize for my part. Banning people was my idea, though it started out being that we would tell the user in advance and then ask them to keep it a secret. That's what most people seem to be mad about, and since I'm the instigator on that one, I want to just say I'm really really sorry.

Given the nature of the joke and how the admins/mods panicked, yes it was. I'm a busy man, and AP isn't really something I worry about all the time because it's so well taken care of and respected; I wouldn't have thought much of such a prank if the mods/admins didn't tell those of us who weren't banned that "THIS IS NOT A JOKE GRIFFIN WENT ROGUE".
That added an extra layer of stress toward something I would have normally just ignored. At this time of year, I'm most busy, and I really could have lived without worrying about the state of this forum.

I do wish the Adminstrator would not make it sound so serious like if they can't do anything about it, however the Admin/Mods appears to be rushed into the plan after Griffin got impatiant.
I was angrey at ocean for making everything so serious that it overhyped my hope to see Griffin banned and remembered as the shortest Adminstrator. I saw how immature Griffin and he should have never gotten high-rank anyway.
Next time if another adminstrator goes apeshit and abuse his/her power, I'll just say whatever.
I can forgive Griffin, however it will take a long time for me to do that. Had ocean not make it sound so serious, I would had forgaven Griffin fully.
This however reminds me not to jump the conclusion and this cost my trust to the Adminstrator. Also I hate April Fools worst then before. I just wish to shoot a guy who invented April Fools.

I think (yeah it's me again, it's been months I didn't have something to bitch about so cut me some slack) it'd be better if the staff didn't feign remorse, this is embarassing.
The fact Griffin acted on his own may be true (though I don't believe it one second) but they obviously ran with the joke even when it supposedly didn't go as they planned and none of them seemed bothered by the shitstorm it created when it happened, or else they'd have warned us about their plan. And reading some staff members messages on other forums it makes the excuses posted in this page seem pretty hypocritical.
Just say you found it hilarious and if we don't like it we can suck it, that'd be a little bit more honest.

But looks like my chance was blackfired by an "panicking" staffs. I guess I'll stay a relgular member, becoming an senior member is still far off. Oh well.

It was a prank, not in the best taste per se, but I don't quite get the problem some people have. The spam was limited to one sub-forum, so it was easy enough to avoid. The other sub-forums were still open and available. At least, I remember it being that way.
I had some fun joining in, but I'm glad that Griffin's Place is now gone from view so I can sweep those embarrrassing posts I put up right under the rug. It actually came at the perfect time for me, though, because finger-vomiting out spam posts helped me to unwind during a late night of exasperating Lit homework.

Well it was certainly interesting to watch from the sidelines. Certainly showed aspects to people's personality that they would never show normally.
I don't find it all that hard to believe that up to a certain point, the people in charge believed that even though the plan had gone outside of the scheduled parameters, they were still in control. The reaction of some undoubtedly hastened their preemptive decision to stop the whole thing.
I would have been very upset if the joke had as many tells as people seem to have wanted, a good joke is always made at someone's expense, or at least I like to think so, and having people go up in literary and technological arms to save something they wanted to is certainly nothing to be ashamed of or to view as a vain effort.
Ah, but I'm rambling now.
