I read One Piece for the Characters. I"m yet to see a character that is boring or pointless, their all so cool and intersting.

I'm definitely into One Piece for more than a reason, but story's my choice! It gets better everyday… Totally interesting and imaginative.
Characters and settings are the next, I guess. And of course, the unique and superb artwork by Oda!
-
Definitely for the Chracters and Story.
One Piece has such intriguing characters and sports a marvellous story that keeps getting better and better.
-
Character and Story no doubt
Oda's story just kept getting better and better and better, I remember when I got to the beginning of the SkyPier Arc and I thought, 'boy…this arc is going to be dull...'
then Oda sprinkled his magic and WOW!!! the SkyPier Arc became my favorite story...
the same thing for WaterSeven
at the beginning of WaterSeven where Robin betrayed everyone and stuff I kept thinking 'hmm...is this really a wise idea?? maybe Oda is starting to go downhill now...'
but then comes Robin's confession...and o boy...that was a really great chapter...so ya >_>;;
I really ought to have more faith in Oda...
his story-writing cannot be matched >__< -
I love everything about it, the emotions, characters, its cartoony ways (no small mouths and stuff), story, fight scenes, and so on.
its quite a joy to read.
-
The characters, they make it so entertaining.
-
A combination of the first 4; I guess I'd call it DON!-Scenes and emotion-frames, thats the best way I can put it.
What I mean is the scenes like "When did I break my promise?" "You are my nakama!" "CROCODIIIILE!!!!!" (everytime Luffy says it) and "I never. Trusted. Anyone". Poweful moments for one reason or another, made great by the story, characters, Art, and the climax the fights builds up.

I can't decide. One Piece is so awesome in every aspect, you can't possibly pick one out.
-
I read and watch it because I´m emotionally attached to this beautiful story. :)
-
I don't. I only watch the anime. Where's the "I only watch anime" opcion?

**The Daz explains it perfectly, but i would like to add the humor also.
I LOVE the One Piece humor,it's definitely one of the greatest that exist! :D -
i read it for evey thing
-
The story is great.
The art makes it buy-worthy.
The Characters make the story better.
The fights are a breath of releif in the age of long technical power-up fights cough Bleach,Naruto cough
-
I read for the characters, the story and, of course, those "DON!!!" scenes. "Bingo" just tickled me to death. =3
So, probably "Other".
-
While I love a lot about OP, its the characters I love the most. Be it their characterization, or just the wide scope of their designs, there's just so much to love about them.
-
One Piece is the total package. Story, characters, art - it has it all.
Most of all it makes me happy. -
The first four reasons.
I love everything about One Piece.
-
Because I like it?
-
Haha, like the Apple Jacks commercial.
Guess I'll say characters. There was a time where Franky was all that kept me goin'. :P
-
i read it for the characters, story, art, and fight sequences. because it makes me laugh and it makes me sad and even cry at times. and because it rulles. B)

Couldn't have put it better, that's what puts One Piece over everything else for me. Most manga have a couple specific moments where it's just beautifully cool/dramatic, but since OP is so full of them… o_o

it's glory can't be put into just one specific thing. i love it for the story, characters, i love how it can make me laugh in one second and cry the next, i love it how it just keeps getting better and better just when you think it couldn't top itself anymore.
i love everything about it. -

the story man!! and shows a good meaning, companionship, teamwork and ambition!!
-
Well, I read One Piece because of the characters and the story as a close second. In the beginning I thought the story a bit silly and read it mainly because of the unique characters, but after a couple of arcs - the Arlong arc in particular - the story finally got to me. I just love it! :D
-
The story but I regard the characters as a part of the story - as well as the fight scenes.
-
The story is very good, but I like the art work best(unique character designs ^^).
-
Everything, for me One piece is flawless, its has much more story, emottionals, personality and details than other manga have… I just love it for everything...
And look at Naruto, it had like 3 chapters with just boring talk, while One piece can have 20 chapters with intresting talk. ;)

the story
-
Most definitely the characters. I love their interactions, and how they play off each other. I also love their little idiosyncrasies that make them so human, real, and lets me relate to them.
The story is also excellant, although I admit, it didn't really start to grab me until Kuro, and hook me until Baratie. It also lost me for a bit during Skypiea. But outside of that, it's been utterly amazing. I lurve Oda's writing muchly <3

Go to the forums manga section. One of the sticky threads has manga links.
But buying it isn't so bad. I was very hesitant too. But I don't regret a cent._ -
i like the story and also the character in one piece. :D
-
I guess ultimately it'd be the characters that keep me coming back for more. I love the story and the humor and the artwork, but only very rarely does one of those things alone get me to continue reading something if I don't care that much about the characters. They're what make me want to see how the story ends, they make the humor and the drama work, and even a series with mediocre artwork can keep me coming back gleefully if it has characters I love. If you don't like the characters, why bother reading about what happens to them? ;) But I love the whole package with this one, it's why it's one of my all-time favorite series.

The characters and story. Digi loves the characters to no end. They all have these little ways that they interact with each other, and the story is always so imaginative and fantastic.
Hugs Luffy plushie and squees
-
I say battle scenes. The best one has to be Zoro Vs Mihawk
-
The characters… They're all so hilarious and unique!
-
The pirates.
-
The characters are always good and the villians are always interesting. It was cool to see the side stories, like the one with Buggy and Alvida. And the character growth is very well done.
-
I think I'm simply just addicted to it and I've followed OP so long that skipping a chapter is plain unthinkable. There for I blame the open ended story structure which always makes me want to attain the next week's installation as soon as possible and Oda's good at it (he still manage to keep the story enough fresh). Also there's this whole social side of it too, it's fun to share the experiences and opinions with others. But I've no regrets, I've always had plenty of fun with it. There are far more worse things to get addicted with.
