The Color scheme prediction thread

I´m actually surprised that there never was a thread like this here but then again maybe nobody is as color fascinated as myself.

The point of this thread is actually simple. When characters, creatures and places are introduced in the manga we don´t know their color scheme but many of us have an idea how the new guys/things might look in color. So I though of why not having a thread to share our impressions on that part before either a tank cover or the anime sets the standards. I´ll make the first step.

Brook - At first I considered his suit to be black (mostly because of Sanji) but now I somehow grown to think that it will be violet. The hat and boots/shoes black that thing in his sleeve and on his chest either red or yellow. A second guess would be that the suit is red, with black hat and shoes and yellow thingies within sleeves and chest.

Hildon - Don´t know why but I constantly think that he has orange hair and a white face.

I awlays pictured Brook with black suit and the rest white. But I hope he will be more colorful, violet or red suit wouldnt bad, kinda cool. If he joins I hope he will change color of his suit more often, like Franky does with his shirts… Since Sanji only seem to have one black suit.
I can imagine Brook in other clothes in colorspreads, like t-shirts n stuff so you can see his skelly arms. me like very much... ^^

I always pictured Hildon with blonde hair but so I do with everyone that has white hair in the manga. He would look kinda cool with white hair though...

I think Dr. Hogback will pretty much look like he does in the manga, white skin, black clothes and hair.

I picture CIndry as blonde... though now when I think about it I would rather have her with red hair, like Shanks, since we havnt got any girl like that.

Hogback:His skin will be Blue and his outfit will be black
Brook: Brook outfit will be Blue or Purple because Sanji wears black clothes
Hildon: He will be blond so he can look more like Hiruma(Eyeshield 21)
Franky's shirt: i check that Franky has change his shirt so i will pick Yellow or Orange
Absalom: He will have Green or Blue hair

Senshi Mizaka

Cindry: Pale skin, and a brunette
Cerberus: The two dog's heads will be black, and the fox would be red.

Nice going on Franky´s shirt HEATXZ, I also expect something yellow-ish.

@ Senshi Mizaka: Erm, Cerberus color scheme already appeared in the most recent cover of jump. Those are Oda drawings so we can expect them to be the real deal.

Back on topic, I´m a bit clueless about Sanji´s shirt color. At first I expected something dark blue but somehow I feel that with the theme of this arc a blood red shirt would look better perhaps.

Brook - I think that it is a dark blue
Sanji - I picture his outfit as a black shirt and white tie.
Hogback- Black outfit, light blueish skin
Absalom- a dark orange outfit
Hildon- I picture him with blue skin and white hair.

I think Verona will be blonde, and her parasol would either be purple or dark blue. And her crown should be red.

I agree with HEATX on Hildon. He should be blonde like Hiruma.

Until we saw that Jump cover this week, I thought Usopp's pilgrim get-up would be black.

Sanji: His new tie will be white, and his shirt is red.

Brook will likely wear some shade of purple, as it was once considered a color of wealth and nobility [which would fit his Gentleman Theme].

Hobback will have a sharp blue skin color, with black for his clothing and red for his lips.

brook will have a black dress …dont know its better for a skeleton....bbut violet...i will love this and so i changed myself to violet..would be better..

perona --- hair will be hydrogenyellow(don`t now the word...really really light yellow) and maybe some orange in her dress

moria...kay only the trousers....mhhh like crocs shirt....would be boring...maybe some brown and red mix but dont really like his trousers in any colour:wassat:

and to topic.....in the colour scheme you could see how many details oda draw....shows how much he loves this colour schemes and this manga with all the different charas...just amazing which great work he does their...or his other assis.....

I'm almost always wrong about color scheme. I think I properly guessed Spandam and Olvia.

So I'll shoot from the hip.
Perona = pale blond hair, either red or purple and gold crown, red striped stockings, black skirt, red shaw thingy, black boots.
Absalom = I have no idea….
I keep picturing Cindry with dark red hair.
I figure Usopp's outfit is black or Navy blue with maroon or purple trim.

Usopp: an all-brown suit, although the new Jump! cover shows it as being brown with a red hat.

I think Luffy is in his old clothes, but he's also shown in the new cover with an orange shirt and red pants….

Absalom, a light tan lion with blonde hair.

Cindry is obviously Blonde.

I think Luffy D Ace has done a wonderful job(not sur eif he's on these forums) making Hildon have birhgt red hair and a pale complexion.

Also I picture franky with a yellow shirt.

Brooke is just black and white. He's a Manga coloring dream! No shadow, no color!!!

I think Cindry will have pale bluish skin (Same as Hogback and Hildon) and she'll have white hair. I picture her dress to be dark red and her fluff to be also white.

I agree about Brooke having a purple suit. Maybe his afro will be purple too? ...Nah, that'd be overkill, stick with black afro.

I figure Usopp's outfit would actually be black, maybe with some deep red or blue in there some places.

No real mental images of anybody else, really.

For some reason I think that Hildon will also have a pale face but orange hair, and Cindry will be like a pale grey with light blue hair.

Brooke, I could see in purple, but something like purple crushed velvet... basically an obviously out-of-date style.

Can't help but imagine everyone wearing a bit of black (goes with the theme), especially since a lot of the new characters' clothes are inked the color.

Whoa bevin, you coloring skills are amazing.

On the topic of Cindry - Yeah, eversince I saw that one sig with fan art of Nami and Cindry I can´t help but imagine Cindry to have that color. But then I ask myself wouldn´t she alone by color look totally different then on the photos? I mean Nami, Usopp and Chopper just noticed that she now has scars over her face but no color difference. Unless of course all those portraits were b&w.

And as far as the jump cover is concerned - I´m pretty sure that these are the official colors for those characters. The cover is arc themed after all (just like a tank cover). And I like Luffy´s color scheme. That guy needs a change of colors ever now and then anyways.

I like the idea of pink hair. I see her more colorful like punk anyways that a pale goth chick. Btw, its Perona. The Katakana can´t be read as V/B.

On the topic of Thousand Sunny - As far as I know there was no colored version in the form of graphic artwork. But a "real life" Sunny could be seen in the Jump Festa. Here´s some images (courtesy of Greg and Warp methinks):

But since this is one badly done model by itself the colors don´t have to be handled well either. The best shot of Sunny´s colors (which is very little) can shows this screen cap from the new OP game Unlimited Adventure:

Since Oda said, that he was involved with this game more then in any other before I´m sure that the color has his approval. Besides, since the games often use Toei staff so far I´m sure that it won´t go against the anime version of it so it should be the real deal.

And about the head, though it might look arward but if it can be mistaken for a sunflower then actually the face should have a darker color then the hair. Though I´d prefer a yellow face with orange hair. At least I´m sure that the Jump Festa model isn´t on mark with a complete golden head. There´s no was face and hair will have the same color.

So Usopp's coat is purple with a reddish orange hat and Nami is wearing a light pink shirt, the Cerberus is bluish (lol…reminds me of the three headed Blue Meany dog from the Yellow Submarine now). But we don't see anyone else.

Although, I don't think we should quickly assume that this are going to be the new colours, it is just a cover after all

Erm, that is the cover of One Piece yellow where every Strawhat has a unique new outfit that doesn´t have anything to do with this current arc.

I don't think Hogback or Cindry or anyone has green or blue skin. Paler than previously? yes. In fact I can see Hogback with nearly bleached white skin, as weird as that sounds.

Cindry's hair may have white streaks though.

I don't think Hogback's colours are too far off what he looks like right now.

I imagine Brook's clothes to be black but with shades of blue/purple for lighting (ie. the green on Zoro's pants).

Thousand Sunny's been coloured before, though I don't have the picture.

I think Ryuma will have a lighter body teint, since Hogback said something about a "special body". I see him with light brown bandages/skin, green cloak with golden lining, and bronze around the waist and sleeves. + A red scarf, and green hair. It'd be a perfect moment of "waah! Zoros a Zombie!" Or " That's you in 50 years, Marimo!"
I see his (awesome) sword as deep purple, and golden.

I can't see Perona as anyhting but violet and pink, much like Bevins drawing.

Hogback…just red and black. Black coat, read on the inside, black pants, red gloves, red lips, black hair, red tie. Skin like a wax figure.

Ok, new characters new guesses. :happy: Actually I don´t have the slightest idea about the most characters in chapter 452 (I just see them black and white or silver) but the Spider Monkey I see to have his stripes colored in red and a yellow-ish white.

Dr. Hogback: his clothes will be green. he's a surgeon people! all surgeons are allways dressed in green, its to counter the stress the eyes get when seeing massive ammounts of red during a lenghty operation.

I think the spider monkey will have similar coloration then Brachypelma smithi, because the species is well-known (I think this it's the species most people have seen on the movies or something…), and the coloration would fit.

So I think the legs would be black and orange, and abdomen would have similar coloration.
