Female Shichibukai?

It needs to be a little girl who can snap people in half with her bare hands.

I like that idea, it's been done before in Bleach - Yachiru is a cute pink-haired girl and VC of the most brutal division in Seireitei.
If a Shichibukai was an evil little girl whose fighting style would rely heavily on physical strenght, it would be something different Also, it would eliminate the fanservice problem. The difficulty would be to make her psychologically believable, as little children rarely become criminals.

I see what you see, but not quite what I mean.
Slan is a classic female villain archetype. The seductress, a bibical archetype even.
She's a very good female villain, but she's still very confined to being evil through sex and about sex.

She dosen't have the Colonel Kurtzian quality either, nor is she on top of her group.

The ultimate female villain can't be confined to one aspect of evil like Slan. She needs to be an authority on evil in all its forms. And she shouldn't be a slightly fanservice esque figure either. She should be far too frightningly evil to titillate. The first thing that comes to mind is the horror, the horror. Y'know?

I don't really see this happening anywhere else than in a fanfic. There at least two straw hat members will fall in love and at least one female will be dissed.

If there was a female shichibukai, she might end up like… bah... who's the most famous female pirate? You know, the one that brought Calico Jack into piracy aboard their crew or something? Alls I know is that Oda likes to base things on real things, like real pirates. Actually, that wouldn't be a bad idea, since Calico Jack's name includes the name of a cat and animals are a theme in Shichibukai names. Who knows what we'll get, though. Oda's full of surprises.

I think its possible. I think there is at least one female in the 3 great powers.. I think a female shichibukai would either be fast and use a smaller more controllable weapon. Or she would be real powerful using some weapon alot larger than herself

On topic, I'd still love to see a female shichibukai or arc main villain. My ideal would be for the last unknown shichibukai to be luffy's mom, kick his ass, and then join his side against to protect him against a larger force.

Zephos said what I've been expecting all along. I read newspapers and the general "feel" of Japan culture towards women is different to the west. They are only just going through the women rights thing whereas we've already been there. Recently the Japan big cheese had to apologise after saying women were just machines for producing babies.

The birth rate in Japan is down because women are putting off marriage due to careers. The general thing is once marriage is mention, the guy takes over everything. So if a woman has a business, she finds its being pulled away from her, many don't like that idea. And as one japanese guy I met said, things like computing and other normally male centred places, women just don't do those things (even if in animes they do).

So there you go, never expect a strong female character from any manga. If you do get one, she is 75% of the time there as eye candy. Rare is she the threat. And with one shichibukai left, I'm doubting it even more. Maybe there will be one strong female later, but she will just be a once off and most of the ones we've met so far are just supporting cast. Look at what we've seen also of the Yonkou crews, did Shanks or WB have women on their crew?

Well it would be interesting to have a female be a Shichibukai but it is doubtful and probably not a good idea, and as this has to do with things set in the past (tho a diffrent past then ours) women wernt in power then, yes there were women pirates (alvida is an example i belive of a real female pirate) but they were few and far between or were disquised :ninja: as men

An as One Piece is mosty a teenage boys manga theres mostly just gonna be fights between dudes as Luffy/zoro/sanji/ect fighting a girl would look wrong (Nami would be the oppenent and as she isnt very strong she's either lose or win by a miracle as she usaully does) so although it is a possiblity i feel although kinda interesting it would be a bad idea
