I was very happy to announce it, because it means that now VP doesn't have to go back and sub 292 (our plan was to release it along with 303, which is another Boss Luffy special, if ADC hadn't released it by then). Seriously though, Vegapunk was not created to kill ADC, and I for one am glad to see that they are still around.
I forgot to mention it in my first post, so Thank You ADC! I never gave up hope that you would release 292, and I look forward to watching it.

I'm really glad that this episode is released, now I only need K-F's 218 release to have the set! But it seems there is still some trouble at ADC from what Ramonni said on the main page.

I'm glad for the return, but if I make a minor complaint:
The new font is much more difficult to read from a distance than the old one, especially in the opening.
I might suggest just copy-and-pasting the opening from a previously done episode to save the effort of resubbing it (unless it's more complex to do it that way, in which case I apologize)

I heard from one of the ADC members about a month ago that Wickio was most likely going to quit ADC, and things were very uncertain as to whether the group would be able to continue without him or not. I couldn't share it publicly at that time, but I guess it is okay to say it now. I got the impression that he was okay but had too much going on and just didn't want to sub One Piece any more. So, Wickio is not dying or anything, but based on what I was told, I don't expect him to come back to ADC, at least not in the near future. (of course there is always the chance that he may change his mind, so who knows…)

And I never got why sub groups never just made the opening in super duper high quality, and then plopped it onto the front(and the ending onto the end) of each episode, it should be easier than re-subbing and doing kareoke on everything.

No, it's more likely they were unable to get any of the fonts or previous typesetted scripts from Wickio, and so they had to start over from scratch. Otherwise I don't think they would have changed every single aspect of the typesetting.

That would have been me There's no official statement or anything, but wickio told me he wanted to release 292 then quit subbing. Since ADC isn't solely wickio's project, (Xeon is the man in charge) xeon wanted to continue, with a new crew, and that's what's going on. So expect releases again.

As an adc staff guy, I like to see posts like "oh thanks ADC I've been waiting" but as a one piece addict... "wtf?" Vegapunk releases are top notch, from 295 onward, totally great, and getting better every release. There's nothing wrong with two groups subbing one series, and everyone's free to watch the group of their choice, so don't make a big deal out of loyalty crap. Adc will keep subbing under new "management" and vegapunk will keep cranking out those awesome HD encodes. To each his own, you like your group, I like mine, don't tell me I'm stupid for it.

Well I've moved on to egapunk, I just can't wait for ADC releases any longer and the font change is annoying.
If you want I'd be glad to find some appropriate fonts for you to use for both the openings and endings.

Hold your horses, you're not seeing my point He dissapeared completely, after saying he wanted to finish 292. He actually never finished it, and I never heard from him again. Before he left, he said he was having real life issues, but that's it. So don't assume he left because he wanted to, more like he left because he had to

I'm looking around t3h intarwebz for some cool fonts. I'm trying to find good looking ones that ar ekinda simple but not plain and boring. It's hard considering most are super cool looking. But I found a few and I'll PM you the names and what site I found them on.

When we had both Rush and Null doing scanlations (in the early 400s), I found I preferred Rush's presentation. It didn't mean I wouldn't read Null's work, it's just preferences in the presentation.
Personally, I was freaked out when VP appeared and announced "Open-source subs" because I've got an irrational fear of open-source licences.
Damn it, there go all the Wickio's cereal. Ah well, I'm really sad about Wickio leaving ADC and One Piece subbing (was he there from the start of ADC doing One Piece?). Apart from the episode with Franky getting taken away by CP9 that looked really awful, ADC have done a great job in releasing high quality episodes and I hope they get back into their stride soon.
But on a note about the actual episode, why are these to Luffy Oyabun specials so much better quality in everyway to what One Piece has been recently? Its really irritating to see how One Piece despite being my favourite anime, looks not very good at all most of the time, but when the Christmas and New Year specials come along they look great! Why can't they look that good all the time??? WHY?!?!?!?!
Wickio wasn't an original member of ADC, but he joined relatively early into their run.
For the Luffy Oyabun specials, I'm guessing that the reason for it is that Toei actually does have talent in terms of directing and animating, and if allowed to go at their own pace, they can make some good stuff. For the episodes they always seem hesitant to spend time and money for them. 
And erm… something I just wanted to say after reading this thread. It's okay if you want to abandon ADC and move to VP. But please, don't go into the "kick them while they're down" mentality. Let others decide for themselves what they want to do.
It's easier at this point to just use VP if you ask me, I've only ever used Gerusama for Special 4, and since ADC got "good" I've used them to watch the Anime. I hope they ge tback on their feet soon.

Because the intro isn't always in the same place in the anime. Sometimes it is at the start, other times it's played after 1-2 mins of the anime. And once the karaoke is scripted, it just a matter of adjusting the ass/ssa scripts timming to resynch the karaoke to where it plays in the intro. Something that takes all of 1-2 seconds to do.
As far as ADC goes. How about you thank them for all the episodes you got to watch without any effort or work on your part. Rather then complaining that your not getting your free fansubs. What exactly have the people who are complaining contributed to the fansub community? Other then their whines and moans.

Wickio has left ADC of his own volition. He has far too much happening in his life to have time to do fansubbing. The leader of ADC has not changed, which is Xeon, but the leader of the fansub division is now ramonnl.
