Cool, i'll have to pop this one in and check it out as soon as i get back from class.

Thanks for the scripts guys. Any chance of using another tracker for the HD raws? That NyaaTorrents site is messed, can't get that download script to work. And I don't know why I would donate to a tracker I can't even download torrents it tracks. Hell even it's forum registration doesn't work. I've try'd both firefox and IE on 2 different pc's.

Awesome, great job.
One question though: Why are you spelling Saulo's name as Saul rather than Saulo?
-
Is there a WS raw?
-
@Katana:
Is there a WS raw?
Not yet, but someone is encoding one today, so there should be one released soon.

Because they are doing it the right way already. Saulo is bad romanization.
Thanks a bunch for the release although I wait for the encodes as well!

You can't be serious.
"Saul" is the bad romanization. サウロ -> Sauro -> Saulo. There's no reason to think it's correct without the o.

If it was like that then Usopp would be Usoppu, Wapol would be Wapolu, Iceburg would be Iceburgu.
So you take the shot on that one.
The Japanese can't end their words without a vowel other than with the sound n. Thus, cutting off the last vowel in the name is a common thing in romanization of names.

Ending something with an "o" sound is not the same thing as ending it with a "u" sound, unless it's a t syllable, such as bullet (buretto). This is why things like "pistol" are "pisutoru", not "pisutoro", or why Wapol is "waporu" not "waporo".
"Saul" would be either サウル (Sauru) or ソール (Sōru). There's a big difference between that and Saulo's name.

Actually, the Japanese word for cake is ケーキ (kēki) not ケーク (kēku), and there are a number of other examples where non-"t" syllables end with something other than "u".
Also, Saul is a biblical name, and Oda has used a number of names and references from the Bible in One Piece. The Saul in the Old Testament of the Bible is written サウル (Sauru), but the Saul in the New Testament is written サウロ (Sauro) just like the One Piece Saul. This Saul was an important Jewish leader who persecuted and killed many early Christians until he received a vision from Jesus Christ. Then he converted to Christianity and changed his name to Paul, which by the way is パウロ (Pauro) in the Japanese Bible, and not パウル (Pauru). Saul/Paul went on to help spread Christianity throughout Asia Minor and southern Europe, and many of his letters to the early churches there ended up being included in the Bible. He is often known now as St. Paul, one of the most important saints in the Roman Catholic church. This biblical Saul is likely one of Oda's main inspirations for the name of the One Piece Saul, because of the parallels in their lives. Saul worked for the World Government which was persecuting/killing anyone who was trying to discover the True History, but then he ends up switching sides and helping Robin and her mother.
Also, I trust our translator Murasaki who has a lot of experience translating One Piece anime (former Gerusama translator) and manga.

Softsub script released for Episode 301 - grab the ass at http://www.vegapunk.com
lololololol
…sorry.
thanks for the release guys
-
The ass has been grabbed. Very quick release this week, thanks again!
-
Was wondering how long it'd take before anyone said something about it.
-
but the Saul in the New Testament is written サウロ
Whoa, really? I never knew that. I guess that explains where that translation came from, thanks.

grab the ass
Maybe I'm just being immature but this also got a smile out of me.
Also geg, don't try and make sense out of katakana. There is no official way of doing it, and many words have different ways they could be spelled than what seems right.

There are now torrents available from the VP website for WS and FS RAWs reencoded from the HD RAW so that the timing is synched with the script.
