(Possible Spoiler) Where on the Grand Line is Elbaf?

Alright, so a friend of mine and I were discussing this just a few moments ago, and I checked on the "who/what/where" FAQ and nothing came up. So, basically, where do you guys think Elbaf is located on the Grand Line, in relation to the "New Wolrd"?

It seems, on one hand, that it would have to be located in the New World. After all, that's all the talk as far as guys like Smoker are concerned…and I think we can all agree that the Strathats are going to be getting there soon. There simply can't be that much time left before they get to the New World, since they have to finish up on Thriller Bark and then hit Fishman Island (or Mermaid Island, whatever it is).

On the other hand, the Strawhats have met their fair share of Giants thus far on their trip, and all of them have mentioned Elbaf. You'd think that, if Elbaf were in the New World, one of them would have mentioned something to that extent.

So yeah, just seeing if anyone else has a better idea of this than I do...which half of the Grand Line is Elbaf located on?

I dunno. I'll guess New World.

I think Elbaf is located in the New World because if it was located in the first half of the Grandline, it would have been mentioned. Also, I think Elbaf might be the third or fourth island the Strawhats go to after Fishman Island.

Nobody knows. there's a few islands and nations and cities that are mentioned but never shown, or not yet shown. Since Usopp wants to visit Elbaf I'm sure eventually they'll get there somehow.

Wait. Isn't the deal with the Eternal Pose that people sailing the Grand Line HAVE to visit every island along the way, or they get lost? So presumably, there can't be any places they've missed, as such?

The Eternal Pose leads to just one island, all the time. The Log Pose will just go to some islands in a line to Raftel, not all of them.

So, starting from Reverse Mountain at the start of GL there are seven different paths to choose from. Luffy chose a path starting with Whiskey Peak. From there, they hit Little Garden; after that, they sailed blind until they hit Drum. Now since I haven't read all of the Drum Arc, I don't know if it just happened to be in the same path they started from or not. If so, then they're incredibly lucky (they usually are). If not, then they were still lucky to hit land.

So if they are on a different path than the one they started on, then they could have already passed Elbaf. Then again, the paths begin to merge somewhere around the middle of GL; Elbaf might be there, and thus still on the itenerary.

I don't think so. I have no doubt that the Straw Hats will visit Elbaf. Oda hardly ever leaves loose ends and not having the Straw Hats visit an island thats been talked about on and off for over 300 chapters would be very unlike him.

As for where it's located, it's possibly in the New World, maybe somehwere in the beginning. I can't imagine there being any or much arcs taking place in the first half of the Grand Line after Fishman Island.

I have been wondering if they are still on the same line, since for example when they fell from the Skypiea, they might have drifted from the route. And it's more then likely that they will visit Elbaf at some point, since it's been mentioned several times, and Usopp wants to go there.

Nah, when they fell from Skypiea, they were following the log. They may have drifted from it when they used the Eternal Pose to go to Alabasta though.

I didn't remember they used the Log pose when they were falling, it has been a while since I have read those chapters…

Jaya apparently was on the other route then, wouldn't they have arrived there after the Skypiea otherwise?

I don't think they changed the route when going to the Arabasta, since wouldn't they have gotten there anyway, even without the Eternal pose?

Yeah, Jaya was on the way. That was part of the mystery leading up to that arc – why the hell was the Log Pose pointing up?

I am not sure what you mean with that… What had Jaya to do with the Log Pose pointing up? Are you saying, that Jaya was on the same route as the Skypiea, and people thought Log Pose should have pointed there instead on the sky?

The Strawhats got on the Jaya with Eternal pose.

Well, since a big chunk of Jaya got shot into Skypiea, it would make sense for a Log Pose to point toward the sky like that. After all, that was the section of Jaya which Norland encountered.

Well, while that is true, I don't think Jaya and the part of it that is in the sky share the same magnetic field, since in that case wouldn't the Eternal pose the Strawhat's got from that monkey-guy, have pointed on the sky, just like the Log pose?

I suppose the logistics don't necessarily make sense, but that's what happened. Shortly before (or after, don't remember) they got a map of Skypea, the Log Pose started pointing upward. That's why they went to see Norland's ancestor guy, because people thought that he'd know something about why it was doing that.

I know that, but what I am trying to figure out, is if the Skypiea and Jaya are on the different routes or not. For me it seems like Jaya was on a different route, and if they would have let the Log pose to align itself with the island's magnetic field, they would have changed routes, and not ended up in Long ring long land next. I am kinda confused, though.
The whole principle of Log Pose is confusing.
