First and foremost, thanks to kljs for making this thread. I just caught up with the series and have been itching to discuss it with people.
The main purpose of the Exorcist organization is to find other Exorcists and unlock their Innocence powers to fight the Earl and his minions. General Theodore specifically is still looking for Exorcists to guide. If the series ended with a huge showdown now, that initial purpose would be lost. I personally thought that mission was what made the series cool and would not want it to be abandoned.
With this goal in mind, I think the fights in the current arc will continue, but both sides will depart without a definite winner being decided. The Earl and his crew are relocating and his akuma are out targeting the other generals, so there is plenty of story left outside of the current battles. The search for the Heart and more exorcists will definitely lead to more collisions between the factions. The whole series feels like a gothic X-Men to me where two sides are trying to convert these special beings to their agendas. I hope this part of the series is emphasized more after this series of battles.
For the match-ups, I would say that Allen against Ticky/Tiki Mick is a decent bet. Rabi and Bookman seem to be a good match for Jasdavid although I think the twins are currently after General Cross on his farm. If they are there, we might yet see General Cross in action. Linali is basically incapacitated due to her fight with Eschi, so I don't think she will have her own battle. Crowley is likely to fight creatures that Rhode summons or, potentially, Rhode herself. She doesn't seem like the type of person to fight Crowley directly. I personally would like to see Rhode face off with Miranda, but she is not in Noah's Arc with them.
I am not a big Kanda fan (his attitude bothers me), but I expect him to come out on top against Skin. He is definitely wearing down his healing power, but that fact was mentioned when we first met him. If he could project a sword that would not conduct Skin's energy (like a wooden or energy-based sword) he might be able to strike and defend against him without any big backlash.
Sorry for the long post, but I am very stoked about this series right now.
