I know not everybody believes in ghosts, but it's fun discussing them, ei? XD

I hope this hasn't been done before…

[hide]- Many years ago, my father and I went to this local historical museum. My father told me that he saw a lady walking around wearing old-fashioned clothing. The lady walked into the room next door where my dad was at. I'm guessing my dad found it odd that woman was wearing old-fashioned clothing, so he walked into the room where she went. Then, he said the lady supposedly disappeared. :blink:

Now, this one happened to me when I was little. My family and I were outside by this huge brick building. There's an ice house next to it and I saw a boy (about 9 years old) staring out the window at me. I think he was inside the ice house. He was very well dressed, like he's going to a funeral or something. I looked away and a few seconds later, I looked back at the window and he was gone.[/hide]

Please don't come here saying that ghosts aren't real and that I'm crazy. Just freely post ghost stories you heard and/or "ghosts" that you saw.

Oh, I love ghost stories! One of my childhood dreams was to become a paranormal researcher. Anyway…

When I was 5 years, I remember I saw a huge, cloaked white figure in my backyard. Then this figure suddenly disappeared, and I wondered what was that thing.

My best friends (who I will call Snake, big Metal Gear fan) house is haunted. My friends and I have all experienced SOMETHING while we were there.

My friends house is sort of like two houses on top of each other. it used to be a bar, but the bar area was converted into a living room. From there a hallway connects to the back, which has another living room, and from there you can get to his room and his sisters. Anyway, a few years ago, my friends and I played Halo almost every night in the back of his house, which is like this.

So my friend Tim is sitting on the couch. He's a funny guy, and he started calling Snake's father, dad. (He'd call him dad and joke about the two of them going to the World's Fair).

Anyway, Tim is the only one who can see down the hallway, and into the (other) living room. We're playing Halo, and Tim sees Snake's dad walk past the doorway.

Tim: HI DAD!

He doesn't get an answer. Tim turns to Snake.

Tim: Your dad just walked by but he didn't hear me.
Snake: My dad's next door.

Feeling weirded out, I decide to see if he came back in to grab something, so I go down the hallway and check around. Nothing. We asked his dad later if he came back for something, but he was next door the entire time.

Other weird things:

1. I once saw a person walking down that same hallway out of the corner of my eye. I though it was one of my other friends, but he was in the bathroom at the time.

2. Hearing chairs and things being moved across the floor upstairs. Nobody was using the upstairs at the time.

When I was about 12-13 I had this dog, Missy. Missy stayed with my dad and stepmom in Tulsa (about 2 hours from here.) During the school year while I was at my moms, Missy started having seizures and had to be put down. I had a really close bond with this dog, and I took it really hard that i didn't get to say goodbye. The next time I was at my dads, I am waking up in the morning and I feel a dog on my bed. I was thinking it was one of the other dogs so I look up and I see her butt and tail walking away and she just disappeared. I looked at the door and it was close. I believe she came to say goodbye to me. From that day on I have always believed in ghost.

My friend's two aunts were driving to somewhere. They got lost somewhere so they asked a policeman that just happened to be there where they were. The policeman pointed to a direction without saying a word and they left. They winded up going in a circle and when they came back, the policeman just suddenly vanished.

yay i love ghost stories. but i only know fictional ones for parties. here is a nice one that creeps everyone whom i have told about:
a little girl lived with her parents in a big house. her parents would often leave her alone at night and in order to keep her safe she had a dog who would always sleep under her bed. at midnight she used to go to the washroom. to check whether everything is alright she would drop her hand to the side and when the dog licked her she could go to the bathroom safely, if not, then she was in danger.
that midnight she woke up ,dropped her hand to the side, got licked, and went to the bathroom.
and when she turned her head to the shower she found her dog hanged and bloody letters on the cold tiles telling:
the killer can lick, too…

I was asleep in my room like normal and my chair was beside my bed facing it and all of a sudden around midnight (I didn't look at the clock but I'm assuming it was around that time) I woke up and imediatly looked at my chair and sitting there was a man (or more the shape of a man, I couldn't distinguish any features) and all of a sudden he teleported from my chair to where he was standing beside the bed looking down at me and then he dissapeared. This all happened in a matter of seconds, I don't know if this was real or if I was just imagining it because I was half asleep but all I know is I was awake and I saw what I saw.

Not exactly a ghost story, but the day the Pope died blood stains appeared on the stairs of my parents house. That's the weirdest shit I've ever seen and we still have no explanation to it.

I don't know how to explain this, but I personally believe that it was my guardian angel or something like that. This happened when I was about eight or nine

So at a water park by my house there is this wave pool where they will make artificial waves and it's really fun and all but back then I couldn't swim all that well and I decided that I would swim out to the point where I couldn't touch the bottom with my feet and it was at that moment that they decided to turn the waves on and the waves started hitting me and pushing me underwater and I had to work extremely hard to stay above the water. At this point I was getting really tired and I could barely stay afloat so I decided to start yelling for help and I looked up at the lifeguards but they were just staring at me, I think they thought I was faking it or something but I just kept yelling for help and all of a sudden I felt somebody grab my arm and start telling me it was going to be okay and that I was safe and the person pulled me to the shallow end where I could stand up. But when I looked around to see who it was that saved me there was nobody anywhere around me.

I went to my kitchen to get something to drink.

Now, there's a "window" you go next to before you reach the door(which has no door, it's just a frame) and I saw a guy, an old man, bald(just that circle of hair left over) a white shirt, brownish pants, and suspenders. THe cups are in a bag hanging next to refridgerator, and looked like he was getting a cup. Freaked out I grabbed somebody else(since I knew noone who looked like that) and by the time I got back out there they were gone. Freaky…

That reminds me of the time I woke up from a nightmare (don't remember my nightmare). I can't remember if I woke up sitting up or what, but it felt like somebody was giving me a back masague. Maybe I was just half asleep. Next, I fell back asleep and the nightmare continued.

Damn, all these sound weird. Especially Kuroneko's. It gave me goosebumps just thinkin about that.

Well I had a few…..... But I had went to California one time during the summer with my mom, and little sister to visit my mom's friend since she recently moved out there. Well anyway, my mom's friend and her daughter left to the store with my little sister, leaving me and my mom at their house alone. I had brought my XBOX with me and was playing it in the guest room where I slept at.

Mother dearest had walked up the stairs, and she seemed pretty tired so she was going to lay down and take herself a nap. But when she turned the corner when she got up the stairs, she saw someone run in my mom's friend's room. The weird thing is, that this person moved at a unreal speed. Freakishly fast. She called out to it, thinking it was me, but I was in the room the whole time. According to mom, this person was wearing jeans, cause all she got a glimpse of, was it's leg.

After my mom told her friend what had happened, she told my mom that before they bought the house, the daughter of the family who moved from the house died in it. Died in the room where I Slept in. So the guest room used to be this girl's room. We all were weirded out.

Bumping one of my old threads.

This one is about seeing an illusion of my English teacher. This happened before my previous school year ended. My English class left the room to go to the computer lab. I was the last one out and before leaving, I saw my teacher packing her things at the desk, getting ready to go with the class. Well, as I walked out the door and into the hallway, she was holding the door for the people entering the comp. lab. There was no way she could have walked there that fast. If she did, I would have seen her walk past me.

Last year, I went to Jefferson, TX with my friend, it is an old town, so it is full of spirits and such. I didn't really see anything myself, but I took some pictures… and there was some FREAKY stuff in them.

Now, I'd ignore the pics with the orbs, those may have just been from the flash of the camera, though some people would say otherwise….

There was one of those places that was pretty cool, apparently they used to hang people there, so that was why people would feel cold spots there, or when you take pics, you'd see several orbs of light.

I'd totally love to go there again! It was so much fun learning the history of the town and seeing all those old houses and buildings, especially when it was getting dark. >:3

I remember one time when my brother and I were riding our bikes on this trail next to our neighborhood. We realized it was starting to rain, so we started to head back. About half-way along the trail, my brother stopped, pointed, then asked if I saw someone in the direction he was pointing. I looked out and saw a man wearing a black cloak just standing there in the distance. By now it was raining pretty hard, so I couldn't see any features, but his head looked orange, somehow. We just ignored him and kept riding, but when we looked back, he was running towards us! It freaked us out, so we started riding faster, he was just standing there again.:blink: We slowed down slightly, and when we looked back, he was gone. When we got home, we told our mom, but she just said that we must've imagined it. It was freaky, though.

Ummm Anyone heard of The Haunted Irish castle in chicago? I literally live right behind it. When I'm out back at night I trying to get a picture of the moon I often capture orbs when I take pics by the castle. There are known to be 2 ghosts there. One A black cloak, another of a little girl who died of influenza. When back there at night taking a late-night swim, I occasionally see the cloacked figure out of the corner of my eye. It continues to scare the crap out of me. I recall having already posted pics from my trip to the famous graceland cemetary. Fairly known for 2 haunted grave stones, I havn't had an encounter with them though.

I think I might have told this here before but when I was little I would occasionally fall asleep in my room to the soothing motions of someone rubbing my back, though sometimes it felt like someone was holding me instead. Only problem? No one was EVER there. It stopped when I got a little older but it's something I actually kind of miss if you can believe that.. xD;;
Though despite the lack of free back-rubs now my room has always just had this quality to it that made me feel warm and comfortable; however surprisingly if you ask my little sister she'll tell you that my room is actually one of the scariest in the house.. (A big statement given how our upstairs hallway just inspires feelings of being killed and/or maimed if we don't get out of it fast.. It’s a perfectly normal hallway but there is just SOMETHING there that makes both my sister and I fear for our lives sometimes, it doesn’t help that the area where the feeling is strongest is right outside my older brother’s room where our mother has housed several family artifacts that are well over two-hundred years old. Then there is the bathroom where for a little while in the past you could hear chanting if you stayed long enough..)

I never heard of that orbs had to do with paranormal activity. I only know that those white blurries that appear in photos can be evidences that the person snapped a ghost… or sort of.

I was staying with my parents one summer, and sleeping on the floor in the living room. I woke up to the sensation-if it can be called that-of my body being paralyzed from the neck down. I could just barely move my head, and my voice was a weak, whispery croak. That's when I saw it.

It had no facial features, nor anything remotely like limbs. It was just a brownish-black blob, hovering a foot above the floor. Even though it had no eyes, I could tell that it was looking at me. Cooly, impassive, the way you might study a bug. I desperately wanted to kick at it, but some impulse in my brain told me that it was loathsomely slimy, and colder than ice. I croaked out a prayer for deliverance to the Lord. Then I woke up. Again. For some reason, it felt as though time had been reset, but was a couple of seconds off. After learning about half-waking states, I suspect that this was an instance of that. But then, I've seen shadows darker than they had a right to be, moving in directions no physical object was there to cast, when I was awake and walking.

There are some folks that enjoy the charm of old houses, where full lives have been lived out by numerous families. I avoid such places if I can. There are no haunted houses, only haunted people. Yet, the more vivid and picaresque of human experiences may indelibly mark a place, and act as a guidepost for such things to find these haunted people.

My daughter and I had gone to California a couple weeks ago for a visit..so we were in Old Sacramento on Labor Day (We came home last Wednesday). I was able to go check out some of the areas that are supposedly haunted and picked up three areas that just…were indescribable. I still have to check my camera mem card, but I may have picked up an EVP on the Delta King's theater level. It felt like.....well......some people get light-headed around spirits, but it felt like my entire body was floating from the inside..so light-bodied I suppose? And in the alleyway from the train museum towards Evangeline's, you pass a building that hadn't been raised (it has a field across from it) and there's this feeling that something is watching you. When I passed that building 3 years ago, it reeked of sulfur..which it shouldn't, because it's abandoned/locked up. The third was in Evangeline's. As any of you locals know, Evangeline's was once a three story saloon back in the day. Now it's a three story costume shop (Ben Nye makeup is there! It's GOOD)..I talked to one of the employees, who confirmed that closing there gave her the utter creeps and told me that sometimes in one of the archways, people can hear breathing and I know that their basement leads to the underground tunnels of the city (Last time I visited the store, we shared the elevator with an employee getting off her shift, so the car went to the basement and I got a good look. Got a nasty chill when I saw this barred window out into the tunnels and it was like a face flashed in front of it like subliminal advertising. It was an old man with a scraggly beard in miner's clothes. I keep seeing him everytime I think about the place now). She then pointed me to the second story dressing rooms. Only thing that happened there was that my batteries kept trying to die, but then they were fine the rest of the day.

Another one is in the house I grew up in, I'd get long scratches up my arms while I was typing on my computer..... I've also had a dream where my sister was rocking my (then newborn) daughter to sleep...but my sister had passed away the year before (drunk driver). She was telling me everything would be alright for us with our kid and for the rest of the family missing her.

Anyways, when I get the chance, I'll upload the videos from Sacramento to youtube. I'd like to hit up Bachelor's Grove and possibly Mt. Carmel cemetery for any further ghost hunting now that we're back home (devilfruitgrower! Come with me~). Just remember kids...never go alone and ALWAYS be polite and respectful. None of that provoking bullshit. Ghosts were human once too and still have feelings!

There are many stories where people dream with the dead relatives, talking with them or showing things. This is not related with dead relatives, but once time I dreamed with Stanley Kubrick… it was creepy. There are also stories where people (awake) get a sight of a friend or relative that they haven't meet anymore and then realize they aren't actually there. Then, later, they learn that that friend or relative had passed away minutes after they have seen him/her.

Also, there is a legend that says that sulfur is an evidence that a demonic deity is around that place. The paranormal researchs tend to say that demons usually haunt or are attracted by places where happened huge emotional suffering.

Oh, cool! I'm also interested about ghost hunting as well, though my town doesn't have haunting places anymore. Some history books of my town said that it used to have many haunted spots and wandering hauntings, but the legends seemed to disappear with the arrival of electrical light and stuff like that.

However, there are still legends about ghost ships sailing in the river that sorrounds the city.

Edit: For about three or four weeks I was seeing Shadow people. It was like they were stalking me. and It always happend when I was alone. so all I could do is run into a well-lighted room inhopes it wasn't my shadows. but I had one walk right in front of me once.

That's awesome Cactusmomma. I'm definetly going to watch it.

As an another recommendation, I suggest A Haunting. It's a documentary show about real cases of haunted houses. Pretty good and scary.

Actually, the TB group sounds awesome..but I am NOT going into Bachelor's Grove in anything short of civvies and daylight. There's always police around and some of the spirits are a tad on the extra disgruntled side (it used to be a mafia dumping ground as well as a place where some satanists came to do their business)….so I'm not going to do anything that would even remotely have a chance of pissing even one off.

Also, are you heading to Reactor?

I just remembered another story.

On a field trip when I was in 4th grade, our class went to a gold mine. Our guide told us the ghosts of miners who died in shafts, and pointed out an area and said that people claim to see the ghosts over there every once in a while. Whether I was imagining it or not, I could've sworn I saw these eerie, blueish things that were in the shape of people wearing mining helments. They seemed to be looking at us, but they weren't moving at all, so it's possible I imagined it. Even though nobody else seemed to see them (or did they?), I thought it was pretty cool. The ghosts - if I DID see them - didn't look scary, but actually kind of cool. So yeah.

Anyone Believe in Shinigami? One gave me a visit once. I was in the Northenern woods on vacation. The first night there I had a dream I was frighting this beast. And I got to fly, it kicked ass. well, a few days later, I was meditation quietly on my dock out by the lake. And somthing sent a serious chill down my spine. I opened my eyes only to see a dark, hooded figure floating above the lake. instinctively, I ran straight to my cabin…. There I stayed up all night, I felt like I was being watched.

the following week I had a dream, I was confronted by the figure again, and he told me that he was a messenger. he claimed that he was sent by a "shinigami" to watch me. I woke from the dream and didn't really believe any of it.

Anyone think we each have spirit gaurding us?

Bah! You! Come to Reactor! Last year's OP group was kinda…made of 3 people...2 of which were Rudy and myself! I'd ideally like to get a movie 2 group going..but enough of the off-topic stuff...I'll make a thread for that con elsewhere.

A friend of mine just got into contact with one of the spirits that has taken over his room. She's about 8 years old and said she followed him from when he was a baby, but she won't tell us his name, so we call her Sunny..since she's supposedly in a sundress (how he saw her in a dream). She's your usual little girl that probably had an accident or died sick and she's relatively harmless....except she broke his clock.

OH wow O_O that was some freaky stuff! I want to believe that one on the thermal camera was real, but of course it can easily be fake.. but where is the fun in thinking it is fake? XD

And that one in the prison… oh damn that would scare the crap outta me O_O;

My favorite one is the lighthouse. Where they have video of something looking down over the edge at them. It creeps me out everytime. They also investigated a bed and breakfast in Guthrie Oklahoma, they got an EVP of a little girl telling them to come and find her. I love Ghost hunters. XD

Yeah, Ghost Hunters are so much fun! Sometimes I wish I could go do that, it'd be awesome…. Well, I've at least tried it, but not with any fancy equipment, just my digital camera that wound up dying anyway. Me, my sis, her hubby and friends went to White Rock Lake in Dallas... Supposedly there is some legend of a "Lady of the Lake" there... We never did see anything, but heard a lot of creepy noises XD

You should get some kind of recorder to do EVP. Those are always my favorite out of all the gadgets they used.

When I was a kid, we lived in this house in Wolfforth Texas (right outside of Lubbock) I remember I was always terrified to sleep in my room, because it alway felt as if someone was sitting at the foot of my bed. My dad swears he heard people running back and forth across the house, when he was the only one home. We have a picture of me and my sister standing outside with our dogs. There are 2-3 orbs, and a figure in the window. That house still creeps me out.

I also saw the ghost of a dog that I saw get hit by a car run through my field at the same house.

Well I live real close to this place called Goodleberg Cemetery.

It is located in Wales, New York and I live in Elma, New York.

I've never gone there but I really want to go and I have talked to people who have gone.
