For me, I wish that Blackbeart isn’t the last villain either. For sure I don’t think that Blackbeart will lose now. I think he will be one of the later enemies in the New World but hopefully not the last. I would be satisfied if he is the last if we got more big shots in the last fight, Kuma would be nice. With an Admiral or Yonkou I would be satisfied, too. I have much trust in Oda that he will make an awesome end.

as BB gets hyped again and again by oda he HAS TO BE one of the last 2 villains…it
s godd that we saw him rly early in this series(vol.24) and heard about him even before that(vol.15 or 16)...so i like that we know this chara so long and go along with his plans..he has a kickass DF,is damn strong, same goal as luffy, and he
s the mean-version to handle the same goal as luffy...
and now last chapter we saw that he steps on everything on his way  -
You think BB is the final boss of this arc? And not the final boss of the series? All the years of buildup since Arabasta so that he could get punked in a single mid-story arc? I'd like to echo Vanessa's sentiment.
BB has been developed since drum.

yeah I do actually.
I can understand the build up but I dont think he'll end the whole series.
Nevermind about the end of this arc cause we all know luffy wont beat him.
he'll be one of the last guys to end the series but I really doubt he'll be THE last.
I just really honestly dont think he'll be the last bad guy of the series that luffy beats.
-

Fair enough. I meant BW but Drum would have been the best choice of words.

the main reason I say that is that theres SO much development for other characters to be the final guy of the series.
Theres doflamingo, we barely know anything about him. Theres kuma.
Theres kaido and the unknown yonkou.
Theres even shanks, even though i doubt him and Luffy will fight if I recall, when he first met shanks didnt he say something like "when im a pirate ill beat you" or something like "next time I see you we will be enemies".
We havnt even SEEN the new world yet, a ton of those guys in impel down were just mentioned, and they could easily be released.
Luffy isnt even near one piece itself yet, you have all of that stuff about the ancient history that robin is always trying to figure out and what rayleigh told her about.
Theres just so much more left in the series I could see some other guy developing as the final "boss" guy.
Just speculation though.
-
i dont think shanks has any intrest in being the pirate king and what about white beard the man closest to one piece
-
There WON't be a final BOSS in one piece!
This isn't the story of Jean Claude Vandamme, but of pirates searching for one piece. -
There WON't be a final BOSS in one piece!
This isn't the story of Jean Claude Vandamme, but of pirates searching for one piece. But all these pirates are looking for it so they will inevitably end up fighting each other.
But since Marshall D Teach and Monkey D Luffy are two of the most influencial pirates (along with the whole consept of the "Will of D" which I can't wait to hear explained properly as we can only make accurate guesses so far) besides the younkou they will end up facing each other at some point.
-
Just me going against the waves and making questions… don't take it for real.
But the hype about Teach being the last enemy kinda sucks, and I like him. But the hype about Mihawk sucks even more, and I like Mihawk too, but still... seems clear, so clear, that maybe Oda will come up with something new? Like Zoro X Shanks, or the Gorosei old man with the sword? And the hype about Edward's death it's also so clear, that I think he will survive!...

Of course they will clash! I predict that the situation between BB and Luffy will be the same as WB and Gol!
They will be on the same level strenghtwise, but Luffy will ultimately find the One Piece and become Pirate King.
And BB will be the 2nd most powerfull guy and become old and feared throughout the seas! -

If we only can make accurate guesses One Piece would lose all that is good too it
:D

I beleive whats going to happen is the new generation of pirates are going to fight it out Luffy, Blackbeard, Law and Kid and the Impel down arc could just be used as a way to get rid of the old and bring in the new.
-
I think theres going to be someone else be Luffys Final Villian. But I also think Blackbeard will be one of the last ones Luffy takes down.

why would there not be a final villain in a shonen manga
No apparent reason. If we're talking about any shonen manga out there.
But I'd like to believe that my favourite shonen manga offers more than what meets the eye , and therefore wouldn't end in the same manner as all Dragonballs, Pokemons, and other shonens.
This is after all a manga were battles don't form the core business of the story!secondly I'll requote myself: "I predict that the situation between BB and Luffy will be the same as WB and Gol!
They will be on the same level strenghtwise, but Luffy will ultimately find the One Piece and become Pirate King.
And BB will be the 2nd most powerfull guy and become old and feared throughout the seas!" -
Wouldn't hurt BB to do a couple of sit-up every now and then, lol.
Seriously, I don't think BB will be the final "boss" of the series, knowing Oda, he might be the one you fight to get to the final boss. -

Thats why he needs his crew although his DF ability is really powerful and himself is an established figther he cant do everything by himself. He is still deadly but he is not invincible. And I like it that way.
-
Don't know if this is already asked and kind of to lazy to skim through 54 pages atm but I kind of want some thougths of the so called self-claimed experts on AP.
Blackbeard: on the top of his game or still has to grow during the series? Wondering what the majority thinks.

Are you talking about Luffy or Marshall?
-
Marshall, well I do not think he will be invincible. He might be godly in 1 on 1 battle but still he needs a strong crew to achieve his goal. I just dont want some kind of Majin Buu or Cell appears in one piece.
-
Do you get the message I was trying to convey?
-
I was not sure about that but since there was a devil sign I could have figured it out.

So he became a Shichibukai to gain entry to Impel Down. Because unless hes a Marine or Government Official, he cant get in unless hes arrested. Thats what he's been planning this whole time. And his goal is below level 4, so its probably on level 6. Unbelievable event is forming a crew from the worst villians of level 6, the men and women that Impel Down was meant to erase their very existances from history. Probably including the three pirates Ivankov mentioned earlier. Shiryuu was probably told that if Blackbeard does this, Magellans fired and Shiryuu gains the title of Warden and removes himself from Death Row. Then we have Magellan & Hannyabel side story adventures!
-
^hm… I think he wanted to take out Magellan, which he did successfully. Magellan's DF became Nullified when he touched BB for that short period of time, poisoning him. At least that's what I think, what he has to gain from that is beyond me.
-
Hmm, I need a quick reminder. How exactly does Blackbeard's DF nullification power work again?
-
Spreading a Blackbeard theory. Blackbeard will keep getting hurt like he did in chapter 544, we won't be able to tell when the guys really hurt. Look at him. He keeps getting blown away, cries in pain, and gets up and keeps fighting.
It's a new type of immortality. Blackbeard's going to fake being hurt so much, we'll eventually never know when he really is.
-

He has to be hit with a persons devil froot ability(this is kind of sketchy at this point since we've only seen him suck in a logia, what constitutes a zoan or paramicia attack). From this point on he can suck in the devil inside the person, and when in contact with them he nulifies their abilities similar to seastone. This is explained by darkness consuming all things, or something along those lines. It's never completely spelled out, like how Luffy's Gear 2nd is.

how the hell do fight a black hole?

You throw as much crap as you can at it

Lol as the saying goes, throw the kitchen sink at it.

I thought Blackbeards devil fruit doubled the damage he took, if you take magellans poison into account he must have something spectacular up his ass to get out alive.

GREAT theory.
But I dont think blackbeard became a shichibukai to gain entry to impel down, if he wanted to he could have just barged in like he just did.
Plus, if he WAS using his shichibukai title to gain entry, he wouldnt have attacked those guards right off the bat.

Luffy was only able to barge into Impel Down because he attached himself to a Shichibukai. Blackbeard, not having a Shichibukai willing to sacrifice their title for him, had to earn the title on his own to get in. Using his title, he was able to be at the Marine HQ and use a Marine Battleship to go through the Marine spiral current and get there.

Agreed. He obviously has an agenda. Besides making him immune to the marines for the most part, his Shichi title obviously gives him access to information pirates and normal citizens of the OPverse don't have. Which is why I think the argument about recruitment is valid, even though he hasn't mentioned any motive for breaking into ID yet.
-
I don't get why people think Luffy would be a match for Blackbeard now at all considering he was supposed to be able to fight evenly with Shanks who is near top tier, far higher than Luffy. If Shanks is equal to Mihawk who would be Zoro's final opponent, and Blackbeard is stronger than Shanks with no Devil Fruit, then it makes no sense that Luffy would stand any kind of chance. Blackbeard appears to let all attacks hit him because he can absorb them and take tons of physical damage, whether it's against Ace or Luffy. And Ace was implied ages ago and still is to be much stronger than Luffy.
-
If luffy was'nt already inside causing a riot I doubt it would have been as easy for Blackbeard to gain entry. With magellan and the other forces distracted below it was properly easier than usual for blackbeard to gain access.
-

So I guess you could say that Blackbeard is lucky.

Valid point about the battleships, but other than that he wouldnt need any use for the marines.
What doesnt make sense is that if he WAS using a marine battle ship (and I dont remember where it said that) why would he attack those guards right off the bat? it doesnt make sense, if he was going to use his shichibukai title to gain acess to impel down he wouldnt have attacked them right off the bat, thus making them respond agressively (magellan), and right at the beginning the marines said something along the lines of "we know he hasnt come to visit peacefully" which is pretty much implying that he COULD have visited peacefully if he wanted to.
We dont know his motives though so maybe attacking them right off the bat was part of his plan, but if he plans to go to level 6 to get some new crew, then he could have peacefully went down there and not have to fight anybody until he got to level six.
He also said that the maddness going on in impel down is aiding him.
ALSO, the only reason blackbeard is so powerful against most people, is because his power takes away devil fruit powers, most people, like luffy and ace are practically nothing without their devil fruit powers.
Even though he DID fight evenly with shanks, I bet shanks could take him out solely on the fact that he doesnt have a devil fruit (as far as we know now).

I think BB's fighting strength is equivalent to a yonkou… but it still yet to be confirmed...

aside from him fighting Shanks, that is.
