I think it could be possible that Jewelry Bonney is Luffy's mom (sorry if someone said it already).
Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
-
-
NO, she is probably a little girl seeing what Blackbeard said to her and treating her like a kid. But than, BB asking her to be his wife is really wrong, or isn't it?
I don't know, this is confusing. -
Going from the latest chapter:
BROOK VS ROCKSTAR IS ON~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!
-
I remember when we first heard about the admirals and their nickname I immediately remember this tale and though that Sengoku gona have a momo momo fruit ( peach peach fruit) since he is their leader and all. Oh God that was such a stupid theory.
About the theory of Dragon used to be an Admiral seem pretty far stretch, were they ever confirm that there can be only 3 admirals at a time or was it just some stupid rummer that I heard? However I do think that it is possible for him used to be a marine or wanting to be a marine and found out about their dark secret thus betraying them. Since unlike Luffy, I don't think he have any role models who are a revolutionist. Well you never know, maybe Grap used to dump him to some Revolutionary to train him to become a marine.
I always got the feeling that Dragon started the Revolutionary Army as well so I doubt he would have been raised by a revolutionary. All Dragon had to do was see how the royals and nobles of his own home country (Goa Kingdom) treat the regular citizens and then see other such things happening all over the world to realize something's not right with the current system of the world and then decide to change it.
Although you do bring up a good point about whether or not Garp raised his son or if someone else did. Maybe Dragon's mom was still alive when Dragon was a kid and raised Dragon.

Well the whole Dragon being raised by a Revolutionary was actually a joke on my part. Seeing how Garp dumped Luffy to a mountain bandit so that he can become a marine, I believe the same could have been to dragon, unless Garp like his son more than grandson.
I agree that Dragon is the one to start the Revolutionary, and the reason he become a Revolutionary is because he saw how corrupt the government is, or maybe his wife could have involve in the mess somehow. You have to wonder those, how come during 800 years no body try to overthrow the government like Dragon this? It not like they only become corrupt during the recent timeline.
-
Maybe it didn't seem so bad in centuries past. You know governments can do things in small steps and at first it doesn't seem so bad but after all the small things pile up and you fully realize how much you've drifted in say 100 years, that can really appall you. It could be like that. Or maybe there were previous revolutionary attempts in centuries past but they were put down and then painted as evil by the WG and the general public bought the WG propaganda.
-
Luffy will find out that Boa is in love with him, and in order to cure her disease and also be able to leave the island, he will piss her off so she gets angry at him then he runs away.
-
I also expect Coby to eat a DF.
-
@Rubber:
I also expect Coby to eat a DF.
What would that add to the story?
-
another cool devil fruit perhaps?
Coby getting on par with Luffy?
Coby = admiral material or vice admiral (in a while off course, not right now.) -
DF are central to peoples characters. They don't just randomly obtain them after going through a lot of shit without them. Coby will be a skinnier Garp by the end.
-
Someone seems to be forgetting Kaku and Califa
-
About the theory of Dragon used to be an Admiral seem pretty far stretch, were they ever confirm that there can be only 3 admirals at a time or was it just some stupid rummer that I heard?
Ehh, I don't think Dragon was an Admiral, but that's not really an argument against it… 20 years ago neither Aokiji or Akainu were admirals, so Dragon could've been one then, and left leaving the the spot open for them.
@flandrian15 I also think it'd be kind of cool to see Coby eat a DF. I was thinking Logia maybe. But, I can't even think of an element that could be pink or purple and give him a cool nickname.
-
here an argument against it
I don't think Dragon was a (high ranking) Marine because if e was, you'd think people would know a bit more about him prior to the recent reveal to the public of his father and son. You'd think if Dragon was a high ranking Marine, the WG would have boasted many years ago that he was the son of another high-ranking Marine, Garp, right? Yet up until now, not many people knew of his origins.
-
Coby being gifted a Devil Fruit would kinda ruin the point of all those endless training sessions he went through to be halfway competent don't ya think? Haki is all the power boost he needs.

agree , he will train to control his haki

I already said "I don't think Dragon was an Admiral." But, thanks for the post I'd already read….

Right because Devil fruits take no effort to train, and cannot be incorporated with other skills. :getlost:
-
@Superbear:
Right because Devil fruits take no effort to train,
You don't train a devil fruit, you find out different uses for it through combat experience. You're also ignoring the fact Coby doesn't need or want a devil fruit, he already has haki and his training and with them he can be top tier. Plus he has to work on his haki, a devil fruit would get in the way.
and cannot be incorporated with other skills. :getlost:
how is this relevant to anything I said?
-
Oda hasn't used an eyepatch yet in a design, so I've always thought he was saving it for someone special. I'm hoping Sabo will have an eyepatch and some burn scars on that hidden part of his face.
He wrote in one of the author's notes that a character at the end of the story will wear an eye patch.

how is this relevant to anything I said?aka training.
You know this how exactly? That is simply ridiculous, Luffy has a Devil fruit and it doesn't interfere with his haki usage or training, if anything it adds to it.
Lastly, are you unaware that you can use other abilities such as Haki in conjuncture with a Devil fruit? -
I'm not against Coby getting a devil's fruit, but if he does, it won't be for a long time. He's freaking out about haki right now. I don't think he's ready for another big change like that. He's going to be concentrating on training his haki.
-
@Superbear:
aka training.
Yeah we have different ideas of training here. I'm thinking the training Coby actually went through aka muscle building, sword practice, menial chorse ect. Combat experience is completely different so unless you really want to bandy words meanings this is irrelevant.
You know this how exactly?
Small child, I'm not saying Coby as a person doesn't want a devil fruit (I have no idea what he wants aside from to be the bestest marine evar), I'm saying Coby as a character in the story doesn't want a devil fruit. He doesn't need one, he's going to be powerful enough with training+haki. It undermines the fact he's got where he is purely through hard work and talent. It would be more satisfying if we saw Coby fight Luffy with his own strengths as opposed to it being Coby demonstrates his Devil Fruit 101. You only want to see him eat a devil fruit because in your fanboy mind you want coby to be MAXIMUM POWER!!! and are forgoing all logic in the process.
Because really, what would coby gain as a character from eating a Devil Fruit?
That is simply ridiculous, Luffy has a Devil fruit and it doesn't interfere with his haki usage or training, if anything it adds to it.
lol what haki training?
What I'm saying is that it will be easier for Coby to get to grips with one new ability (haki) than with two. Something that flew painfully far over your head.
Lastly, are you unaware that you can use other abilities such as Haki in conjuncture with a Devil fruit?
DARRRR, REALLY?? and here I was thinkign Whitebeard used magic :ermm:
don't put me on your level
-
Guys, just a theory: some illiterate moron will say Sabo's dead each week until he's shown in present time at which point said person will go "whoa! how da heck did he survive?!?!1 o wate, Dragon saved him?!"
And Coby getting a DF would undermine his growth until such a point that Oda shows us Coby NEEDS or is being given (due to achieveing admiral rank maybe) a fruit specifically to carry out his duty. Otherwise Grap's training should be more than enough.
-

Stereotypical analysis but whatever, its not like Admirals have been logia users or anything. Psst I don't know ask Oda.
Sliver Rayleigh, appears for no reason at all then? Yes, yes I'm aware we're on the internet you can, calm down now. -
@Superbear:

Stereotypical and true!
its not like Admirals have been logia users or anything. Psst I don't know ask Oda.
Except they haven't, Sengoku wasn't a logia and we have no idea about Kong. But of course EVERY ADMIRAL MUST BE THE SAME!
Sliver Rayleigh, appears for no reason at all then?
yes sweetie, the point is the haki training hasn't happened yet, so I was a little confused when you referred to it in the present tense. But now I realise you transcend time planes, so my mistake.
Yes, yes I'm aware we're on the internet you can, calm down now.

Well folks I've debated a lot of people over the years but this is the first time I've driven someone insane.
-
Sengoku isn't a logia though.
You'd be more wrong than the ppl that kept holding out hoping Akainu wasn't a logia.
-
Sengoku is a human Zoan model Buddha.
Or a Daibutsu paramecia. (more plausible)If in the anime he's shown to have a bronze color while in DF mode i'll believe he's a Daibutsu paramecia.

Luffy wanted a bronze statue on the crew! Sengoku 4 nakama!!!!one!!!

Not mad just imitating, but we have seen that before in a logia form so until there's conformation I'm not saying anything.
-
He's clearly not a logia though, what's his element?
oh wait you're the guy who thinks there's a 0.01% chance Sabo's alive. Never mind.
-
I'm going with logia on this one too. Bronze. Might have different properties being metal but this makes the most sense to me, as a paramecia should be able to grow like that.
-
Bronze Logia ?
NO.
-

How would he be able to do those shockwaves if he was a bronze logia??

^This.
It's obviously Buddha's palm (or not). He has the attributes of Buddha, but since he's so huge and (Like a Daibutsu) and has an unified color as it seems (wich i assume is bronze) he can't be nothing but a Daibutsu.
He's even nick named Dai Buddha so…
-
And I thought it was bad when people were trying to say Kizaru wasn't a logia, even after he got shot through the head.
-
Bronze is used to make cymbals because bronze is highly reactive to vibration. It's also commonly been used to make Buddha statues.
Thus, he uses his Logia to make a high powered vibrational shock wave.
And once again Oda hath used a logia to recreate a God. -
Have you also considered that we've almost never had a solid logia before (BB being the exception) and almost certainly never will.
-
Have you also considered that we've almost never had a solid logia before (BB being the exception) and almost certainly never will.
What are you basing this on? Akainu is half-solid. And he's been shown to have limited mobility, acting like a giant bronze statue. It makes a hell of a lot more sense then a Buddha fruit. Paramecia is out, as it's a permanent change to their regular body. Zoan is out. And a bronze Logia acting as a Buddha is textbook Oda.
-
If he was a Bronze Logia, why did he become this huge ?
An Akainu half solid ? c'mon it's melted rock not corn flakes (lolwut)
-
Pretty much every single Logia have shown to have matter formation levels to that scale.
In fact I can't think of a canon Logia that hasn't been able to replicate that much of their given element. As it isn't as fluid as previous elements, it manifests itself as increasing the users own body mass on a colossal scale. -

http://i.imgur.com/n8drr.jpgYou don't know much about devil fruits or One Piece altogether do you?
Foxxy, Inazuma, Mr. 3, etc. all don't have permanent changes to their bodies but turn on their abilities like other paramecia users.
-

Mr 3's body secretes wax and Foxxy's body fires beams. Inazuma, and Mr 1 for that matter do have limited shape shifting. But changes on Sengoku's scale have only been reserved with Logia, and my bronze theory explains the level of growth and the shockwaves. And if it's a paramecia it can't be bronze because he'd just be like Jozu only weaker.
Also it has many of parallels to Enel, both being based on deities.. and remember how Enel was defeated? If Sengoku's powers are sound based [edit.. went back and checked and there is a [URL="http://www.mangareader.net/103-48478-5/one-piece/chapter-578.html"]vibrational effect on his hand when he launches the wave] , if Luffy beats him.. it would end in the ringing of an instrument of sorts only with time with a GONG. -
Maybe you just find it cool when you saw "bronze" in the thread.
But
Never heard of a Daibutsu ? It's in bronze.
-
A Daibutsu fruit would make about as much sense as a Statue of Liberty fruit.
-
Sengoku can only have a bronze paramecia/logia rather than a Buddha fruit if he joins as Luffy's bronze statue. Which he won't. So he's got a Buddha fruit.
Joke logic, but beats what others are saying… :getlost: -
Daibutsu is a representation of Buddha so it could make perfect sense.
He's Buddha, in Bronze.
