Then Vegapunk hits them with some devastating underwater attack and reveals that he lied, and never ate any Devil's Fruit.
Maybe it's a stupid idea, but I just think it would be cool if at some time they fought an opponent who seemed to have a fruit ability, only for the person to be submerged underwater and reveal in some dramatic way how mistaken they were.

Since Ace is Fire and Satch was supposed to be Dark, I have a theory that Marco is Wind (Specifically, Hurricane) and Joz is Earth.
Here's a theory, Strawhat pirates reach the end on the Grandline, Raftel, they are ambushed by Commodore Smoker (perhaps promoted by then), with Tashigi, and these new guys Smoker plans to get his smoky mits on, and Hina too , then of course acompanied by Fullbody and Jango, all of these guys have got big and strong like the strawhats, and got various tricks up their sleeves.
Smoker vs. Luffy
Tashigi vs. Zoro
Hina vs. Nami/Robin (probably Robin, cos she can make hands, will Hina 'the black cage' can chain up most hana hana attempts from Robin)
Fullbody + Jango vs. Sanji and Usopp
and the rest of the crew will be assigned with new marines from Smoker's crew.
But wait! While this bloodbath is in progress, it is interupted by the Buggy Pirates! Buggy's gotten to be buff as hell (and increased bounty perhaps), and begins to rip up Smoker and Luffy, as his new super strong crew tear up the other fights, truly showing how the grand line can beef one up. Now it's pirates on pirates on marines, it's mental, the new fight line up would look like this

When Kuma mentioned to Zoro that his Pacfista(sp?) design is incomplete, I think Vegapunk's(with the full backing of the WG) ultimite goal is to combine Kuma's cyborg design with the ancient weapons themselves or components of the ancient weapons.

Here's something interesting.
オーズ can sort of sound like adze (the tool - An axlike tool with a curved blade at right angles to the handle, used for shaping wood) (if オ -> ア). With what transpired, it seems like オーズ did just that; he shaped wood. He "shaped" (commandeered and then destroyed) Thriller Bark (bark as in, tree, as in, wood found underneath it).
Not sure if there's any real connection here (or if Oda even intended to make his name significant for any reason) but…

I have a feeling Zoro's final fight in the series will NOT be against Mihawk. It'll be against Tashigi. See, he's been working towards Mihawk since the Baratie arc, but he isn't at all prepared to face Tashigi. He can't even look at her! But SHE is hellbent on defeating him. Plus, Zoro never DID defeat Kuina. I don't think Tashigi is Kuina, or related to Kuina at all, but… Beating Tashigi would sort of be beating Kuina in effigy, if you know what I mean... THAT would be the true test of Zoro's skills, to see if he could defeat the greatest swordsman in the world, and then defeat the swordswoman he couldn't defeat before.

I'm sceptical that he'll join now that Moria's truly fallen… He might be a travelling buddy for a bit, like Coby, Vivi ect., but maybe not nakama, just so Oda can rub it Luffy's rubbery like face that he'll never get a musician.

And at the end of the series, the Straw Hats have only 9 members (someone other than Brook joins) and no musician. Luffy is constantly mentioning how he wishes they had one, while the rest of the crew chides him for his obsession and tells him that a musician isn't that important.
Then Luffy becomes Pirate King, but later he and the Straw Hats are captured by the world government. But it is a different government than before, and the person in charge of the Straw Hats says he'll pardon them all, if only they can create some nice music to soothe his bad nerves.
The Straw Hats look at each other, and Franky trys something SUPER.

For a while, Ace's fate was unknown. Eventually, it becomes apparent Ace lost - though at the time we weren't sure if he was merely captured or was killed. I always felt strongly that Oda wasn't going to kill off Ace, because in terms of the storyline having Ace actually be dead didn't necessarily matter at that point. I also think the intention was to have everyone suspect the worst.
Anyway - you know the theory that when a DF user dies, the fruit that user ate will grow anew on that spot? (We know already there can't be more than one particular DF "at a given time" from the existence of the DF Encyclopedia and the SBS question in volume 48)

If the theory on how Devil Fruits work is accurate, then Ace's capture (and execution) would essentially ensure the WG has control of the Mera Mera Fruit.
With the reader now comfortable with knowing Ace's fate, I think this is a perfect opportunity for Oda to capture people off-guard.
The scenario: the Strawhats are facing off against another powerful opponent. Say, a marine. Name someone…...I don't know, Akainu or somebody.

It's the Mera Mera Fruit.
Seeing as Aokiji (the blue pheasant) has the Ice logia, the fire logia might compliment someone like Akainu (the red dog)..?

Ah, yes, and the chances of him being dead after seeing him on the boat with a few other Thriller Bark residents is slim to none.
So my theory is pretty much done for, although I still think Ace will somehow be used as blackmail for Luffy.

For a while, Ace's fate was unknown. Eventually, it becomes apparent Ace lost - though at the time we weren't sure if he was merely captured or was killed. I always felt strongly that Oda wasn't going to kill off Ace, because in terms of the storyline having Ace actually be dead didn't necessarily matter at that point. I also think the intention was to have everyone suspect the worst.
Anyway - you know the theory that when a DF user dies, the fruit that user ate will grow anew on that spot? (We know already there can't be more than one particular DF "at a given time" from the existence of the DF Encyclopedia and the SBS question in volume 48)

Well, now we know Ace is alive and is only being held prisoner by the WG.
If the theory on how Devil Fruits work is accurate, then Ace's capture (and execution) would essentially ensure the WG has control of the Mera Mera Fruit.
With the reader now comfortable with knowing Ace's fate, I think this is a perfect opportunity for Oda to capture people off-guard.
The scenario: the Strawhats are facing off against another powerful opponent. Say, a marine. Name someone…...I don't know, Akainu or somebody.
He reveals he has a Devil Fruit -
It's the Mera Mera Fruit.
Seeing as Aokiji (the blue pheasant) has the Ice logia, the fire logia might compliment someone like Akainu (the red dog)..?

I like that theory, but the one thing about it that makes me wonder is I'm fairly certain that such a method of acquiring a Devil's Fruit can't be common knowledge, and I think a fair amount of people would know about it by now if it was the case.

It could be this same man who stopped Roger.
It's my theory, however, that this man died recently, which is why the Pacifista project was created, in order to recreate the actions of this man.

Theory: Garp ends up dying in a confrontation with Shanks' crew. It may not literally be that Shanks kills Garp, but the World Government translated it so to rouse the Marines: "these pirates killed our Hero, rooaahhhrr."
It would also put tension on Shanks and Luffy's relationship.

Arlong's Bounty actually is a semi frozen bounty, he corrupt Marine and Captain Nezumi to prevent raising his bounty before he take over East Blue.
I would like to say he worth at lease 60 millions, as a member of the Jimbei's crew(probably the 1st mate of Fishman Pirate), he shouldn't have less bounty than a jackass like Bellamy.

We had LOTS of deaths in Thriller Bark. A Zombie is something that is BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE. If it dies again, that still means it is being KILLED

Is destroying an artificially intelligent robot really killing? Some would debate that, but even so, the situation with the zombies was slightly different.
The fact that Laura has memories of what Lola is interesting. It means that depending on how you look at it, each zombie was really a part of the person who's shadow was stolen. Which means they never really died, they just were reunited with their other parts.
