I don't do so well when it comes to drawing Manga or anime, but I still love drawing other things, mostly realism.
I don't have a scanner, so I had to make do with Digital camera and PSP11.

The reason I called this thread small was because these are the only two drawings that I got to take a picture of.
My Digicam broke recently and I can't get a new one for a while. :getlost:
So anyway, comments?

I'm impressed, Fleur. You and I are similar, in the aspect that I cannot draw comic/manga characters for the life of me, but I can totally draw realism.

It's a shame your camera broke. I would love to see some more of your work. I like how you blend the pencil to make various textures in the landscape/cityscape pic. Keep it up!

Sadly enough, I'm nowhere near as good as I was when I drew that picture. That was one of my major projects in my Senior art class in high school. I graduated in 1998, so 9 years of relative inactivity has dulled my skills. I tend to like working more with graphic design anyway. I need a tablet, so I can actually draw again & try to bring back a fraction of my ability… lol
Uh, I really like the second picture (although the road is horrible). Somehow reminds me of some old Chinese drawings, but the air is somehow italian for me… anyhow it shows great atmosphere!

it is really nice.
if you post more images i would hope to see drawings with a better range of tone. more contast and highlights, not all midrange.
i think your work would be better with darker pencils. or charcoal. and of course good erasers for that rare moment.
i adjusted your image, just a bit, to show what it might look like with darker details. i hope you do not mind.
i used the levels menu from photoshop, most paint programs have something similar.
i think your abilty is solid, something you can count on.
my hope is to show you a possible way to render an image to create greater visual interest.
there is no single answer as to drawing method, but contrast is a very powerful tool for moving the eye around a page.

Trust me, it looked a lot more darker and solid 6 months ago- and not to mention I took it on a digital camera.

Bedrock: Haha, I know! I thought the road looked awful when I got done, but I needed to turn it in. It did look a little better when I first drew it.
Now it's all faded out thanks to the sun exposure. =p

Oh man these are wonderful! And you make me want to draw more realistic backgrounds, that is really gorgeous!!
And the contrasting really helped it too ^^ When you scan stuff or take photos and the color fades, you can take them into photoshop and fix them like that…
