So yeah, that's probably enough about that. But now I'm more convinced about Gaara's gourd.
The same reason that DB and DBZ were so different. It seems that many shonen animes that stress "power" eventually drop tactics in favor of power. Probably because the authors are trying to figure out methods to make these underdeveloped character fight, hence breeding creativity.
Though to be fair, those tactics haven't really disappeared, have they? We already have Sasuke's counters to the earth bombs in the latest manga. Seems like the same thing.
I wanted to say something about Deidara/Sasuke after mentioning the previous comment, but my head stopped me because of the whole "My Sharingan Can See Colored Chakra" crap that happened alongside the tactics. That part really left a bad taste in my mouth…as if the Sharingan needed yet another use.
Tanuki do, indeed, have giant testicles that are shaped in a similar fashion to Gaara' gourd.

I didn't really find Deidara interesting. He wasn't really.
He was likable, but not really interesting.
He was one of the last likable characters tho, I agree.
I wish Kishi spent more time characterizing his characters(giving them personalities) instead of writing them with traumatic pasts.
Well, at least we've still got Venus Fly Trap Man. He's part white, part black, part plant; the possibilities are endless.
Naruto could realistically end in maybe a year if Kishimoto really wanted to rush it. We've got about four or five bad guys left, most of whom won't fight a main character, and Sasuke and Naruto resolution. Yeah, there would be plot holes left, but I don't think the manga is going to resolve in a satisfying way at this point so there's no need to go over every detail.
In any case, I'm only thing I'm really looking forward to is Zetsu biting somebody with that ridiculous appendage around his head.
Zetsu is probably the most interesting guy for me…

In that aspect Aldrich, my faith is slightly restored. I'm very pleased with how Deideira represented Akatsuki. So I still got a bit of hope left the strongest members can live up to expectations. God I hope Kishi doesn't make me eat my words again.

Unless Kishimoto makes a bunch of throwaway villains, I can see the final five Akatsuki taking on three or more of the Konoha nin at once.
If Kisame 30% can give the entire team Gai a run, surely the full thing must be monstrous.
Itachi I guess is reserved for Sasuke, through I really don't see him beating his brother by himself. If Itachi is as uber as he's been shown, Sasuke shouldn't even be able to touch him, let alone defeat him in a swirly-eyes showdown.
Bluehair, knowing the general scheme of Naruto, is probably so androgenous he makes Deidra look like Sylvester Stallone. If I'm wrong and she does turn out to be a woman, she'll fight Sakura, Karin, or every female character in Naruto at the same time.
To make me happy, Zetsu needs to bite, or at least attempt to bite, three nin with his head-snappy. That thing just begs to be used, and the fact that he can meld with trees and appear underground just makes its use so much more logical.
AL better be UNGODLY strong. This is a guy who shouldn't be beat by protaganist-rage Kyuubi, Swirly-eyes, or a combination of the two. AL needs to be uber, not to give Akatsuki credibility, but just to make it seem like, hey this group actually could take down an entire village on their own.

Only thing that could ruin it is if Sasuke's sharingan has anti-mangekyou genjutsu powers and gives him the power to regenerate thus negating all damage to zero.
I sort of want Tobi to use sonic waves, so he could come from the Village of the Sound, but sadly that is a new place. Idk, his face looks like an orange ear to me.

How does Deidara act any more like a ninja, in comparison to Naruto's ninjas? I would think because of his lack of camoflague and huge, over the top attacks would DQ him like everyone else.
Also, I wonder now what does make for "real ninjas," cause as far as I can tell it's just wearing black that makes you a ninja. That's it.

I don't think he's going to stretch this out for any longer than he has to. Sure, he could ride this cash cow for another decade if he wanted, but I honestly think the lack of effort he shows means he's getting tired of it. Hell, he's got an entire continent he hasn't properly explored, but the fact that we haven't learned much about the other nations (excluding sand) at this point means we probably won't see them.
Of course I could be wrong and this is all a setup for Naruto Part 3: Those Damn Uchihas!

I want to see one of the remaining Sannin get at least another fight, seeing one of them fight evenly with one of the remaining Akatsuki might give us a peek at how (hopefully) ridiculously uberfied the AL, woman, and Zetsu are. I really can't see Naruto ending anytime soon, especially if Kishimoto is going to make him be the one defeat the AL (which I assume he will), because somehow I can't see Naruto beating him at this point.
Then again, I never would have even considered Sasuke beating Oro.

Somehow I would find it hilarious at this point if AL summons or does the ultimate thing with all nine bijuu..and then Kabutomaru appears out of nowhere, fuses or seizes it for himself…and leads to perhaps a more uber version of "Black vs. Goku"...maybe not as easy for the good guys but still. (yeah I know Kabuto means diddly in the long run but its still funny to see him with snake eyes)

Wouldn't using stealth against ninjas, who are masters of stealth, be a crappy idea? I'd think it'd be smarter to just forgo it and fight in the open, like all the Naruto ninjas do.

I have to mention that while I've always liked ninja characters (I usually play as them in video games), when there are too many of them it seems less interesting.
I like it better when there is only a few (or one) major ninja characters in a series. Otherwise the ninja mystique is kind of lost.
