Wow, so Kishimoto finally dropped the bomb on the ascended heritage deal with the Fourth, right? That kind of makes the Konoha villagers fudgearses for beating up on the son of the man who saved their lives. I detect another retroactive connection coming on!
Fail manga just got a lot more fail-ful.
-
Question, my friend just brought this up.. if Naruto is the 4ths son, then why was he treated so bad?
I would think that either:
A. Less than 5 people actually knew, not quite enough to keep Naruto from suffering.
or
B. A lot of people know, but are too hung up on AARGH KILL THE FOX ITS DEMON SPAWN and are in denial that the filthy demon child that technically hasn't done a damn thing against the villiage could possibly be related to the 4th Hokage, a proverbial god among ninjas.
The second option seems pretty plausible, but that's just me.
-
Yes things with no plot I can do in less then 2 weeks.
I think he meant, your ideas about Naruto are similar to Kishimoto. And from what I've deciphered, that doesn't sound like a compliment.
-
@Terek: That depends on how Kishi decides to fit Naruto's family relations in. Nothing wrong with retroactive fitting since all mangaka do it as I doubt they have every single revelation planned at the begininning.
But I agree, Kishi is kinda bad with that sort of thing tho. So I can only hope he knows how to fit this in.
-
You know if Kushina's jutsus were similiar to Naruto's…....... that must mean she must have been one crappy ninja considering Naruto's only "purely-his" jutsus are sexy, harem and kage bunshin since ransengen was created by the 4th. Plus there's the fact that his taijutsu are mostly crap compared to most other ninjas, and his genjutsu are non existence.
Seriously Kishi needs someone to proofread his damn scripts cause now Naruto's mother seems like a stupid weak fool like Naruto.
-
xD Kishi only needs someone to proofread his script?
-
To the one who says he's rushing the manga, maybe I will have to make a list with all the unsolved misteries, but I won't cause is too much work.
-

….so what is the point of this statement?
-
@Le:
….so what is the point of this statement?
I won't do it. It takes much time to search and write. But the reality is there're lots of misteries to solve and news can be added like Naruto's parents and his clan for example.
-
You know, that doesn't exactly disprove the point that it is being rushed.
When shit is rushed, it often doesn't deal with the issues that it should.
-

Yes, but you know, the only one who knows it is him.

Yeah. So uh…. yeah... what was the point of saying "maybe i'll make a list but I won't".
Yes, but you know, the only one who knows it is him.
We don't even know how far he planned into the manga. In other words, we don't even know if Kishi knows.
-

I think that by "mysteries" mangafan is probably talking about all those essays and stuff over on NF. I'm hoping he knows though that those essays are fanmade and have no real bearing on the series as a whole.
-
@Le:

Well, reading the events of chapter 364 and reading that misteryous "Dark Uchiha Story" and that history about "Uzumaki Clan" it's obvious he planned it so far. But neither mangaka knows how many chapters will has his/her manga.
@Aethos I'm referring to the misteries in the series like Itachi's reasons to kill his clan or the latest one about Naruto's parents.
-
Naruto really isn't a complicated story, you know. It's just a character-driven scenario revolving around a kid trying to become head of his village. Pretty much anybody that isn't Naruto or Sasuke are just kind of there to be there.
-
Um…yeah, it's true the main story isn't complicated, yes. On another point, things like Madara's purpose or Orochimaru's rebirth or even the King Hell statue final function remain in mistery and are more complicated than the main story.
-
Forgive me for asking, but is the 4th Officially Naruto's father or is it just a strong assumption?
-
Forgive me for asking, but is the 4th Officially Naruto's father or is it just a strong assumption?
It's been an assumption from the first time we saw the 4th, but depending on how this new chapter plays out, it may be more than speculation now.
-
@Aethos I'm referring to the misteries in the series like Itachi's reasons to kill his clan or the latest one about Naruto's parents.
Didn't Itachi already say why? He said it was to test his limits.
-
Didn't Itachi already say why? He said it was to test his limits.
It was a lie. And leave Sasuke alive for make him stronger too. I wonder why Itachi wants Sasuke to obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan, and why it's so important to him need 3 Uchiha alive, I wonder…
-
Wow, the 4th is Naruto's dad-day. Beeeeeeg surprise there.
Still, it's a pretty sweet plot twist. I am happy. -

Probably because Itachi knows Sasuke has potential to surpass him so he didn't want to kill him?
Seriously it's not like it's that complicated. Yeah I got fooled into thinking there was some big Uchiha conspiracy which led to Itachi defecting from the clan… but that was back during the valley of the end fight.
Itachi says he killed everyone in order to test his limits, and perhaps he probably knows about Madara so he left Sasuke alive considering he feels Sasuke has the potential to surpass him and gave him the goal of revenge in order to bring that potential out.
So that maybe Sasuke could kill Madara.
-
All I can remember is Itachi saying he was dissapointed with his clan and you know the rest. Maybe some flashback about the day he joined with Akatsuki would explain us better.
But seriously, there's some purpose related with the 3 survivor Uchiha, specially after that Madara's big revelation.
-
Well Itachi is a Uchiha meaning in the world of Naruto that his flashback is actually important compared to other characters.
-
Actually, I find Naruto's past and parents more interesting, but it's normal, he's the main character. Also, I wonder what means that "his personality and ninjutsu…are just like Uzumaki Kushina's".
-
Considering that Naruto's techniques are pretty limited, I imagine she has a similar style, which is charge in like a boorish moron and succeed through main character convenience.
I'm actually pretty excited for Pein vs. Jiraiya, hopefully it'll be done well.
-
I would have preferred Jiraiya/Tsunade vs Blue Hair/Pein to be honest.
-

Still, it's a pretty sweet plot twist. I am happy. The first plot twist in all of Naruto I never thought I live to see this moment sobs again like at the beggining of the post.Wait is there going to plot twist in pokemon.

I bought Volume 11 at Wal-Mart for $5.97. Did I commit a sin?
-
kishi threw us a bone this week =I
-
I bought Volume 11 at Wal-Mart for $5.97. Did I commit a sin?
You will be Forgiven in time.
-
If volume 11 is in Part 1, then no sin committed.
-
Yeah, I kinda liked part 1. I think I'll buy volume 12 and 1 which Wal-Mart also has.
-
In anime news, Shippuuden 26 was probably one of the top 5 animated Naruto episodes ever. Just pointing that out.
And yeah Uzumaki Kushina and that other guy, whoo.
-
Yeah, I kinda liked part 1. I think I'll buy volume 12 and 1 which Wal-Mart also has.
I have volume 12 Its my favorite.
-
Meh I started Naruto by buying the volumes so I've been buying them ever since, and I probably won't stop just because I hate part two
To be honest I loved part one. I actually felt the story was going somewhere. I actually thought it was EPIC…
-
i did too part one was awsome.
-
I liked part one, but looking back on it, it wasn't as great as I thought it was a few years back.
-
I honestly didn't start feeling that way Tony-kun until I started reading One Piece and other series… When I looked back at Naruto at that point I actually wondered why the heck I ever even liked it in the first place.
But then again I still read Bleach and I have to force myself to do that... Cause I keep hearing keep reading it's gonna get awesome.

…that might be what Kishi is going for. Maybe Kushina wasn't a great ninja? Maybe she was a mother version of Naruto without his high level moves.
Of course, it's also possible to use the clone jutsu effectively, I think. It's a very powerful move, especially if the transformation jutsu and substitution jutsu can be used at the same time. Maybe Kushina was a chakra monster as well. And who knows, maybe Kushina knows one or two different jutsus, since she can still be similar if there are only a few differences.

What came first? The Chuunin exams or the Hunter exams?
-
@DougyDougyGiro!*:
What came first? The Chuunin exams or the Hunter exams?
I think the Hunter exams since people think the Chuunin exam ripped it off.
-
I don't see why.
Besides having a test in a deadly forest, and one on one fighting, they really aren't similar at all.
-
Naruto Part I is nothing special at all. In fact, it's pretty mediocre.
It's just waaaaaaaaaay better than a lot of Part II, is all.
-
Naruto is to anime/manga what Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was to the Final Fantasy series… Something for beginner's.
-
I thought Part 1 was great, but I realise I'm in the minority on that one.
But I like how the only way people can like Naruto is if it's the first series they read. Obviously it's impossible to like the series if you read other manga. (sarcasm)

Well if I'm one of those people who think that it's only because I feel there are better written manga out there than Naruto. After all I don't see why Naruto can't be a beginner's manga.
-
I just feel it's a wee bit condescending insuating that only the "less intelligent" begginers can like Naruto as if other shonen are literary masterpieces compared to it (which they aren't).
But then again, I kinda consider all shonen to be begginer's manga so to speak.
-
Just about everything you said is pretty silly.
Firstly, there's nothing wrong with comparing Naruto to other manga. If there's something better to read, sure as fuck ain't going to waste time reading Naruto. If you like Naruto, read it. If you don't, then don't. Nobody should feel obligated to read somethin' that they think is mediocre.
Secondly, some shounen are infinitely better than seinen, so it's hardly "beginner's manga." Would read One Piece over Elfen Lied any day.
